Regarding the last story, you can sum up my advice with one word: run. He uses religion to virtue signal and cover up his bad behavior, meanwhile he has demonstrated he is willing to literally lie and steal in order to get the outcome that he wants with his family. I'm not a psychologist but at the very least there's some rampant narcissism here - notice how even when he gets caught he turns it around and makes it out like he's the victim and being disrespected. Respect is not earned by stealing your step daughter's passport, hiding it, then lying about it. Ultimately, I do not believe that it will be possible to build a happy life with a person like this - ever, and as such, there is only one thing to do here: divorce. And the OP would do herself and her daughter a favor if she did this asap, while not being swayed by any promises of therapy, marriage counseling or whatever else. It won't work - you can't fix a person like this, you can only teach them to pretend to be normal for a limited amount of time. The moment divorce starts being off the table he would slip back to his old ways. Dont't fall for it, cut ties as soon as you possibly can.

Last story: take your daughter & RUN! My dad raised me as a single father & later in life when he remarried it was like Cinderella. My stepmom treated me terribly, stole from me, lied on me. I have so many HORRIFYING stories. I became depressed & suicidal. My dad loved me & gave up everything we owned before (house, cars, etc) to leave bc he saw it. I'll never forget the sacrifices my dad made for me. Point being, there's nothing more terrible at that age than feeling like you don't matter & feeling like you lost that parental bond. He will never accept your daughter or treat her fairly. You need to leave bc if you don't, it could cause a lot of heartache & emotional pain for the rest of her life & change even her future dramatically.

I’m so glad ur Father had the sense enough to put u first because I was in that exact situation and my Dad chose differently. I moved out with my bf at 16 and never had the support needed to pursue my dreams. I am happy, as we eventually married (just hit 17 years), had three beautiful children, and I love my life… BUT, I’ll always wonder how different it would’ve been had I had supportive parents and a better childhood.

2nd story: I can relate with the OP. I used to work for a couple who spoke Italian and also who own a Gelato establishment in the mall and the other on the island, where they made the Gelato. I don't really know how or why I fell out of favor, but believe my former coworkers had something to do with it. Anyways, I plea the 5th! There is not much to talk about how that ends. Let's just say that my former boss wanted me to drive over the designated speed on a mid-summer heat, through a very strict city between the island and my hometown, just to get the Gelato to the freezer in the mall. and not take responsibility for me getting a ticket just puts me in a very bad mood. -

The story about the walk out, you are not a jerk at all. My partner works for a fencing company, at one point he was the only employee working there doing every job including manager without actually being in the manager position, 6 days a week from 5am to 5pm sometimes 6pm. He is the only reason the company made enough to open stores in other areas. He had enough and handed in his resignation to the boss ( company owner). The boss freaked because of how much my partner has made and done for the company. He got paid stress leave, more employees from the other stores came to this one to cover while my partner was gone, more employees hired, he's been given a pay raise and manager position. Things did a flip all because he wouldn't deal with being treated like a work horse. If you can leave a job that isn't treating you right, leave asap and don't look back. And you never know things might do a flip like it did with my partner

This story about the guy hearing his ex and the roommate is my nightmare. I'm really self conscious about even banging with my boyfriends friends being in the house. Even if they say it's cool do your thing and we'll respect your privacy. My boyfriends room is separated from the house by the garage of his family's home. They were having a good time and celebrating our meeting because before that visit this friend hadn't met me. So I was OK with putting my we'll call it neediness aside. I'm hyper aware to sounds because of my visu impairment (not totally blind but nearsighted to a really high degree) and puldnt shake the feeling that he could come to the room and assume we were done and see us going at it still.

If the OP's mother really thought there was nothing wrong with their request, then why would she ask the OP not to tell their sister(s)? Also, while a few individual people here and there might be morally stunted enough to think something like this is ok- and I'm not mentioning names Mr. Allen, but you gotta consider that when a celebrity who always tried to keep their image clean and hid their ties to the mafia, who knows that their career would come crashing down, offers to have his ex-wife's disgusting, horrible former spouse 'whacked'- well, clearly there IS something wrong.
Also, in response to our narrators question about what we would do in this situation- The first (and actually only) response to this question that flew through my mind is only one word- and that word is 'scissors'.

He would degrade me and put me down and i was always his favorite target. That step dad, is just that STEP because he chooses to act this way. GET RID OF HIMMMMM! Honestly - the guy in the last story: It isn't disrespectful for someone to cancel the trip that THEY PAID FOR after you stole someone's PASSPORT meaning it would be impossible for them to go. And even after you tried to make sure that a SINGLE DAUGHTER wouldn't be ABLE to come, you then get mad at the fact that your Biological daughters would be upset that "THEIR" trip was cancelled. It isn't "God's will" for you to choose your biological kids over your non-biological one; it's yours. You made a promise when you Married your WIFE that you would treat her and love her daughter from her past relationship like your own - not a free BABYSITTER.

Lying to you and gaslighting you it’s not what a Christian should be like. It might not be physical abuse but is mental abuse. Get out while you can and take your daughter.

Story 1 I am a 15 year old male who was adopted at 3 years old with my sister (16f) and just wanted to say that this story was similar to my adoptive mother who had the same experience had a stepdad after her father passed when she was around my age or younger. She had 5 daughters before us and she told us that her stepdad dad had done suspicious things to one of her daughters the third eldest when she was young and her mom my adoptive grandmother had actually supported him and defended him and it basically started a whole fight to occur and separated the family I never new them but all I do know is that my adoptive grandmother died last 2021 and that was when she had told us because she didn’t want another fight to occur at her mother’s funeral

CPS tbf can do little. CPS is CHILD protective services after all and she isn't a child. The most you can hope for is sexual harassment and regardless it isn't enough to put him on the registry as again she is an adult and no evidence that he actually did anything with the underage sisters. Sadly while sick he is unlikely to get any punishment for this and is likely that her sisters will be put back in their custody
