It is by far one of the most competitive one make championships which means we are all pushing the limits of the cars and can lead to contact but there is loads of respect between us all. I am still running the same front and rear bumper for the past 3 seasons so it isn’t too bad and only had 1 dnf due to contact.
Great video yet again Dave and some great respectful racing shown by yourself and others. 👌 1 question though. Obviously it is unquestionable that the red flag has to be thrown with an incident like that. But does that have any ill effect on the car going from full racing speed to pretty much stopped within 1 corner with the heat soak? At the end of every qualifying and race there is obviously chance to drive around the track slowly to bring the temps down before you enter the pits. I'm guessing in a situation like this race, the brake temps are going through the roof and I can imagine the coolant having to work overtime to keep things cool in the engine department when suddenly there is no air going to either when the race stops that quickly? 😀 - Scott
Thanks Scott. Got to race with respect mate if you want it back. Regarding the car, I left the engine running while in park ferme so the fans help cool the engine down but yeah it isn’t great for the discs. I always try and do a cool down lap to let the air cool down the discs but in that case wasn’t possible and can increase the chance of the disc buckling or cracking.
Excellent race again calm under pressure.
Cheers bud. Will see if you think nexts weeks vid is. Was rather different conditions
A lot of contact in this championship!
Pretty typical for a one make series, the cars are all so similar over taking is never easy
