- Hội An , formerly known as Hai Po and in the Western world as Faifoo or Faifo. located Vietnam's Quảng Nam Province, it is s registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site site .
Old Town Hội An, the city's historic district and is very well preserved example of trading in Southeast Asia.
First populated by the Chams people of Champa and later had a mutual treaty with the Vietnamese and later bonded through marriage of royal blood form both sides.
As it is a trading area, Portuguese Chinese and Japanese reached in thsi strategic location.
Japanese then settled in this area that is why you can see a Japanese bridge in this old town .The population settlement was divided between locals and Japanese by the bridge which is still standing today.
Hoi An ancient town is a famous tourist destination due to its reiver banks that is very colorful and its night market . It is also famous for its floating lantern festival .
Hoi An is just 30-45 minute travel from Da Nang.
