What a car, it's a 65000 dollar car in a 45000 package and gets more looks and love then BMW and Audi who have 100 models that all look the same. Affordable, head turning, can't ask for much more in a vehicle. I love my 2012 S best car I've ever owned.
I have owned 2 of these cars and I have to say they are excellent and really do have it all... power, performance, luxury, comfort and aggressive styling. I would never purchase an awd or v6 myself and I will say I have loved both of these cars and they have been very reliable and I am glad to see that the Mercedes 5 speed transmission is a thing of the past as that is really my only dislike of the 2 previous models! Having done much shopping and test driving... there is nothing that compares to this car in the north American market. Nothing. Infact my plans to purchase a crazy sports car as my next vehicle might be replaced by the purchase of a new SRT 300.
I've rented a Chrysler 300 for my next trip to LA and I'd like to know what other vehicles are similar to the one shown in the video, just so I know what other choices I can possibly have .
Makes sense. I cannot fault Chrysler for making one of the best large sedans in this price range versus the relatively small market share in Canada and the US. Outstanding creature comforts and technology. Refine over redesign.
That "platform" is what makes the 300 ride so richly... Chrysler is SO damn lucky that it got the Mercedes underpinnings from it's time with Daimler!! All the service guys say so at the dealership!
Exactly very good point , i still think Chrysler quality sucks!!! , sure it "LOOKS" NICE but will this car be after 10 years of daily driving probably just as crappy as the 2005 Chrysler 300 : (
Nice 300 S from Chrysler, Big open front grill does make it aggressive kinda looks like ,37 #AeroFlow too from Chrysler. 4 WD would come in handy on 19 highway from #CampbellRiver to #PortHardy this week.
Nice review Zack. I'll tell you one thing, this is a great looking car. For me as a Canadian I'd only buy it in awd too bad you need the 5.7 for that with our fuel prices. Anyway.........
Have always loved the Chrysler 300 styling..... Thank you for the upload Sir !! But could have given a detailed review on this car .....specially on its interior console systems and space !
I'll give you a detailed review: Interior sucks. Console: Sucks. Reliability: Sucks. Powertrain: Sucks. The only redeeming feature on this car is the platform they got from Mercedes, but that hasn't been changed much since 2005 lol.
NeutralGenericUser As a recent 300S purchaser I couldn't disagree more. I've owned Mercedes, Land Rover, Acura, Porsche(which I still have), and I can say this is right up there with all of them.
Mark Cotner "As a recent 300S purchaser" is there really a reason for me to read the rest of your comment? It is clear you are biased. I've looked at all the cars in that segment from an objective point of view, and I have no reason to be biased as I don't own any of the cars you listed.
If you care about the ride, handling, acceleration, space, and comfort, and not the image or materials quality, this is a great choice vs similar sized German and Japanese offerings. They're better, but not tens of thousands better.
This car for people who like to pretend their rich , poor man's Bentley. honestly your better off quality wise buying a used Lexus or Acura , 10 years down the line you'll be glad u bought a quality built japanese car when its still running without any problems
Yeah, if their Takata airbags don't kill you. Also, all Lexus models look horrendous with that vacuum cleaner look and are more expensive whereas Acura is beyond mediocre in both style and technology. This isn't a car for people who like to pretend they're rich, but one for people who want to drive in comfort and style. Japanese cars are for people who have given up on living.
maseratiquattroport Well, of course since I belong to the western culture. You can make a scientific study and you'll see that most western people have similar views on design. Last decade's Japanese designs have been mind numbingly boring and unimaginative. I can't think of a type of cars that were more formless and generic looking (this is an objective fact, you could use an algorithm to verify it). This decade Toyota's CEO himself said they need to correct that. Only, being the Japanese robots that they are, they don't understand concepts like fun, passion or beauty, so they have made them offensively ugly. All new Lexus models look like the head of a predator and all new Toyotas seem to have an X up front. You Italians indeed make some of the most beautiful cars. Americans and Italians have been extremely similar to car design. We always made cars that have character, that are fun, temperamental, filled with spirit. And no, I didn't put down a nation, just their cars. On the other hand you seem to have serious prejudices against Americans. Too bad you won't be able to enjoy the charm of a Dodge Challenger or the beauty and mind blowing performance of a Corvette. Your Italian Alfa 4C if great. I'll give credit to the Japanese when they'll earn in. Mazda and Subaru are the only Japanese companies that make cars worthy to be driven (especially Mazda). Toyota and the rest have given that up a long time ago.
Slickpete83 All those things are irrelevant. You can make an attractive car while following all those requirements and regulations, or you can make an ugly or boring, generic one. Porsche 911 has had basically the same design since the 60's. Just compare Mazda with Toyota and remain shocked at the difference. One brand is filled with ugly, vacuum cleaner, predator style, ugly, boring vehicles and one is like the Alfa Romeo of Japan. Anyway, this Chrysler is a 1000 times more interesting than Japanese cars and it looks miles better.
Terrific review and channel, Motormouth. And you do indeed look like Norm. As an American (not that it matters that much), I can say that he's my favorite comic of all time. He has such an amazingly oblique view of reality and odd situations, and he employs his own brand of inverted irony and subtle, understated satire to skewer pomposity, poseurs and pretense. Such as this (heheh). Anyway, yeah...I got a 2017 Chrysler 300 Limited myself this past April. I like it a lot.
Marty, this is far from true. My 07 Jeep has never given me an issue, while my 2011 Nissan has had broken A/C twice and bas been rusting for a few years.
I was speaking in a general way... just because you had one good car doesnt mean its the general populations casr... did i really have to explain this?
Marty, Many of my friends are having issues with theirs, as well. My buddy with a Pathfinder is on its second transmission. Have you ever owned a Chrysler? You seem to be an expert on them. Ive owned 3 and none have given me issues.
What a car, it's a 65000 dollar car in a 45000 package and gets more looks and love then BMW and Audi who have 100 models that all look the same. Affordable, head turning, can't ask for much more in a vehicle. I love my 2012 S best car I've ever owned.
I have owed four 300 in the last 5 years love the car.
I agree. the old tac and speedometer were drop dead beautiful.
is the 300 as reliable as the Mercury Grand marquis. Do repairs and mainternance similar?
Chrysler is so much better than Lexus, Acura, Honda, Toyota, Chevy, Ford these days, just unbelievable how good 300 is.
Ahah you are funny
snazari1994 thank you, yes I am! As so many Chrysler haters in this topic are
I don't hate Chrysler but you can't compare Chrysler to Lexus or Acura.
snazari1994 Yes, Because Chrysler is better than Both of them.
I'd say all expect Lexus and Toyota maybe Toyota but it's more reliable
Took 300C last summer from Van to banff, very comfortable and powerful road trip machine.
I have owned 2 of these cars and I have to say they are excellent and really do have it all... power, performance, luxury, comfort and aggressive styling. about time we have some good reviews from our home and native land, great review

This car still rides on the 2005 platform. That is insane! It's time to stop refreshing and rebuild a ALL NEW 300
The Mercedes G-Wagon rides on a platform designed in the 70's. Platforms are irrelevant. Nothing more than a basic skeleton.
That "platform" is what makes the 300 ride so richly... Chrysler is SO damn lucky that it got the Mercedes underpinnings from it's time with Daimler!!
All the service guys say so at the dealership!
It's better than the 2011+ models but I still prefer the 2005/10 models.
Is it reliable? And why does it have a bad reputation?
These are very reliable, a good car.
nice to see the seats look crisp!!! built many of them never seen the finished product
I like this car because it looks like the phantom which I can't afford. What other cars look aggressive with a similar body like that, anyone?
I like this but I don't really want to buy american I want a sedan preferably awd... 300hp+.. Stylish.. Any ideas??
Nice car. Only if it were reliable I would buy this.
I agree!
Exactly very good point , i still think Chrysler quality sucks!!! , sure it "LOOKS" NICE but will this car be after 10 years of daily driving probably just as crappy as the 2005 Chrysler 300 : (
don't forget about the depreciation :(
You just surpassed Chris Wardlaw as the best Auto Reviewer... Great Job!
Aren't those front-brakes little for what it weighs this car?
Nice 300 S from Chrysler, Big open front grill does make it aggressive kinda looks like ,37 #AeroFlow too from Chrysler. 4 WD would come in handy on 19 highway from #CampbellRiver to #PortHardy this week.
What about mpg?
is the dash covered of leather?
Nice review Zack. I'll tell you one thing, this is a great looking car. For me as a Canadian I'd only buy it in awd too bad you need the 5.7 for that with our fuel prices. Anyway.........

Logic!
You don't need to use sport mode to use the paddle shifters
If you care about the ride, handling, acceleration, space, and comfort, and not the image or materials quality, this is a great choice vs similar sized German and Japanese offerings. They're better, but not tens of thousands better.
What happened to the q&a?? I liked that.
Zack, PLEASE test the new 2015 Ford Taurus!!!
Nice, why not review Scion FRS?
You can't get the 20 inch wheels on the s
Nice car
Bruh this reminds and me and looks like a dodge charger the body style of the car mainly
Austin TX? Where you at? :D
please tell us once more that you've always liked the 300 hahaha

Protector of the Republic most car designs are based on safety regulations, aero dynamics and fuel economy

Take your head out of your ass. This car is all about quality and value.
Dude looks a little like Norm MacDonald.
Another great Canadian!

You can get a Mercedes c class or BMW 3 series at a much lower cost. I would never even consider the 300
I would never consider your Nazi footlockers!
Donsburt but the cars you named suck
Donsburt then why are you even on this video
Too bad its a Chrysler
too bad its american and will fall apart in 10 years while a japanese model nxt to it will go up to 400 000km

Marty thats a $50000 car
So much plastic.
Le lame
the car looks like crap!
Check out the new 2015 Chrysler 300 PLATINUM and then what will you say?
What about this beast as an all-around car/daily driver (particularly in comparison with its competition)?
