Man I'm so jealous of your workshop! I work out of a storage unit so obviously no painting, no electricity, no air, and tons of prep to do any work that can even possibly make a mess but I keep working. I'm hoping when I own my own property someday I can build a garage like this on it! So I'm going to use your build as inspiration for ideas because I love what you've done! Edit: I have an Instagram (with basically no followers) that I use to show the few friends I have that are interested the work I've done. If you're curious it's jeromeygreen and it's all motorcycle restorations and upgrades as well as some maintenance. It also features me working on my truck occasionally.
Ever since I subscribed to your channel, I knew from the start that this is gonna be one of my favorite UA-cam channel. You started small, and have grown tremendously over the last year. Your determination, passion, willingness to learn from mistakes and from others, and the sheer amount of hard work you put into this colossal project of yours, are truly inspiration for others like me to follow and to strive for. Thank you for bringing us along this journey, and I wish for a brighter future for you and your channel. Can't wait for your next video! Cheers.
how exciting. where i live, we call that adding value to your house. the nit-pick: the air hose going through the wall, if you are adamant about no contamination in the air lines, you could run the line through a little bigger than you need, then cut the pipe, once it's in the wall, to size. then the dry wall particles wont make it to your filters.
Thanks for this vid! I've been meaning to update my garage and get a workbench in order but just didn't know how to organize it. You've just inspired me and given me some great ideas! The workshop looks crazy awesome!
Thanks for the update. These videos help me get off to sleep. Also learned more than I thought I would. Main thing being there is no substitute for good tools
I love workshop videos, It's really coming along well.. Glad to know i wasn't the only who gets triggered by tools not being secured to the bench. Great job mate!
Your workshop spaces are coming along nicely! Coincidentally, I'm doing a bit of re-org in my garage at the moment, however I definitely need to up my game with respect to tools. I'm a little jealous, lol.
Thank you Otto! You're not wrong. I already feel better in there with these few changes. I can't wait to have electric sockets everywhere as well as air :)
Having a lathe (or any precision machine with sliding ways) next to a set of grinders might not be the best option, at least in a long run. Particles from grinding materials stick to oil on machine's ways and make sort of a grinding/lapping paste, which accelerates wear. If it can't go anywhere else, at least covering it well while grinding/polishing will help a lot ;) If you do so, just ignore my comment, although it still may help somebody else :) Your videos have been a great inspiration to me while working on my E36 Compact, some videos are even more helpful as they share some parts with E30. Keep up the great work!
Restore It Actually I was serious. At least in the first half of the video...I had to rewind and pause a few times;) sorry, I 'm not a native speaker, maybe thats why...or I am just as slow as my E34 xD
give the mdf workbench tops a couple coats of spar polyurethane will make them pretty much bulletproof. Had my workbenches like that for the last ten years. Holds up to acid, acetone, gasoline, and everything else I've thrown at it.
@@RestoreIt I noticed the oil and dirt you cleaned off some parts were going to stain your worktops and potentially contaminate your clean parts. Was going to suggest some lining paper on a dispenser so you can cover the worktop & throw it away when it's dirty. Should fit in nicely with your OCD approach to restoring! keep up the good work.
I personally don't mind the tools not being bolted down, so long as you have a secure temporary mounting system they should work fine. It's only really a problem if you have to spent time and effort keeping the tool in place while you are using it. Still, it's probably a good thing that you bolted them down, if only to cut down on the comments about it. :P
Moving the ventilation to the plenum above the paint room would have made a much cleaner space, and would have given you more working area. Still nice to see!
Great lttle improvements to your workshop! But instead of the expensive plastic air system, a solid plumber job on copper lines and fittings would come easier and cheaper, I guess... Thx for the vid! :-i
Hi, it's been a while since being here, I have that app you recomended and yeah it's lit. Look forward to seeing your project's. Hope your ok with Covid-19 mate. Take care talk soon, or chat. James💙🇭🇲💙
Do you have any links to the air line and fittings you used? I am planning to add a fixed air line to my compressor too but I haven't found out yet what I should use. Would be great if you could let me know what you used.
Don't worry Tuomas, I am getting a new workstation to help me upload some more content on there and then to start posting a week early. it's all in the works don't worry :)
6:30 - ehhh... What´s with all the UK wall mount double sockets? Hope you´re not plumbing in a UK ring main in a continental wiring set up? If you are gonna wire them up, remember to wire them in as series spurs from the main RCBO´s & remember max rating per spur is 16A with 2.5mm PR cable. If I were you though - I´d change all my plugs to continental type to comply fully with code.
@@RestoreIt Ok cool, but if a certified pro is doing it then I´m pretty sure they won´t be using your UK sockets :) It´s quite safe if you know what you´re doing but make sure to do it safely & remove before handing on the lease :)
From a single rocker cover to this, what a journey and the future looks even better.
Thanks RIchard! I know right... Tell me about it.
Mate, when you slipped on that wet paint i nearly pissed myself 😂😂 keep up the good work!
I did too! Haha cheers Jay!
😂😂😂Istg I was like nooo u just painted that

Thanks Sneaky! Good thinking.
Gotta hand it to you’re a proper clever lad! Doing all that by yourself just amazing work mate!
Thank you True. I appreciate it!
Nice job mate as always. That poly airline and the push fittings are deadly. I recently did some compressed air upgrades
Thanks George, good to know. If it doesn't work I'll send it back and get the cheaper, better stuff locally. If only I knew before, ah well.

Great workshop
Thank you :)
Wow pretty impressive bro, i really like your work and how nice you are improving your skills as time passes by, nice job :)
Thank you Molakito, appreciate it man. :)
The guys that helped with this workshop build - are they sharing the rental fees and also working on cars? Or just friends lending a helping hand?
Hey Alex, just friends lending a helping hand :) Dj lives with me and is a chef.
For air system you could use polypropylene pipes and fittings, regular 1/2 valves and so on, i think it would cost much less
Love the videos, very enjoyable to watch.
Thanks Joe!
Such a fantastic work space! Keep up the good work
Thank you! Great name :D

What do you think about getting a QuickJack setup? Seems like it could really come in handy for something like that.

Hi, from Brasil.
Hi! From Spain!
Thank you my friend. Your job has been therapy for me.
Please tell us about the blacking kit. Where did you get it and is the finish hard and durable enough for a vise handle? Thanks
