I follow your channel for months and love it! As an owner of a white 1M, this is becoming even more interesting ! Mine has almost 90.000 km. Turbo, wastegate and fuel pump are OK. I replaced the charge pipe and recently all the fuel injectors. 4 of them were leaking causing a rough idle. Stage 1 tune with a Wagner Intercooler, it's now developping 410 HP and 620Nm !
@@RestoreIt Great! I have been working on my own 1-series for the past year now to make it as flawless as possible. Dreaming about owning a 1M every day, as mine is a diesel.
I've been watching for a while because I like E30s despite never owning one, but now you're a fellow N54 owner I like this channel even more! And with the best car to come with an N54 in it too. Looking forward to any 1M content coming up, would love to see you have a crack at the turbos at some point as I'll probably be doing them myself eventually.
Hey Adrian, thanks for watching. I'm glad to hear this. Although its a rare car, I was hoping 1M owners like yourself would really enjoy the content. As I'll own the car until I actually die, you'll eventually see me do everything to this 1M that needs doing :D
@@RestoreIt Unfortunately I'm not a 1M owner, but I have the next best thing! An 09 335i with the dual-clutch gearbox, not as rare as the legendary 1M but still hard to find and they share the same engine hence why I'm buzzing to see all the content you make with yours. Should be a lot of content as well seeing as they break so often lol.
A little heads up about Alcantara steering wheels. Usually if you are going to have one, you should use some kind of driving gloves, since Alcantara will get ruined by the fat on your hands. Leather is more common in consumer cars since it's easier to keep clean.
This painting room is more useful for quarantine at this time 😅 You're doing a professional grade job for your shop. Hope it will back you enough for your time, money and effort you spend on it.
Pro tip for ya: When working with MDF, use a sanding sealer on all the surfaces. It’s cheap, and it doesn’t change its shape or properties, but it does “seal” it when pouring resins or epoxies or even painting it. It’s very easy to use, dries fast, and once keyed, provides the same adhesion as the raw MDF in my opinion. Love the channel!
Times are tough at the moment. I can only reply on the post to get new parts for the E30 and other projects. I'm bringing this car into the mix to help me make more videos in better time.
Always amaze me with your work. Look i want to restore some part of my car (like suspension parts and etc) so will you do a video on what should i buy? I mean a sandblasting cabinet, degreasers, paint.. etc I’m starting a now hobby but don’t want to spend so much money
Hey E. Just right a list of what you want to do and then the tools you need to do it. Then go and find that tool at the cheapest price even if its second hand. Thanks!
The world is upside down, all of my parts and plans got delayed. I had to pull this video out of no where! Back on track now some of the post has arrived. Phew!
The 1M looks like a really cool car ! Personally I wouldn't worry too much about the scratches and spend more time actually driving the car rather than fixing the minor details
Thanks Eliaz! I agree with you. I'm going to TRY and repair those imperfections myself and share it with you. I'm low on parts for E30 videos at the moment due to the delay in the mail and also being on lock down. I thought I'd bring this car in and make some content on it, rather than not posting. Thanks man!
You ought to send the company the video of you using some jacks and a broom handle.. alternative would be an electricians cable drum carrier / dispenser.. if you could find one long enough.. but it’s built for the purpose.. so are you going to be upgrading the 1M? That would make a very interesting series..
Nice car! Quick question though, for £600 would it not just be worth simply repainting the walls once every year or two? Would probably only need one coat of white paint each time!
Hey man, enjoyed your videos. I also watched your previous video on how you DIY the exhaust system for your spraybooth. My question here is, how effective was the exhaust system? (Does it still gives you the dust problems on wet painted surface) If you could have done it differently to maximise the reliability to ventilate more overspray in the booth, how would you do it.
Is the ID of the air hose going to the blasting cabinet not a bit to small?.. I was recommended a compressor with 25-30cfm at 7 bar and a hose with 19mm ID (and keeping the compressor close to the cabinet) combined with a blasting cabinet of your size .. on top of that there should be a water/water vapor trap
Hey man, what have you done for moisture in the lines? Probably best to get a auto moisture evac for the compressure. Or does that filtration system take care of that?
Haha thanks Wolfie! She did approve thank goodness. I had to change my plans when the mail was delayed. I now have the parts for two more videos and they'll be up soon :)
Thanks Brian. I filmed it getting a full respray just yesterday. The restored front and rear subframes were put back on today. SO much has been achieved and film. I will get to editing it soon, I promise.
Congrats! Loved the 1 Ms ever since they came out. I can’t have the beautiful Valencia Orange though, as it’s a bit too close to the color of our rival university.
Hi, I wanted to ask you a question about your life. I don't know if you want to answer it, but well, I will ask you. You are Spanish or you are English, I have set out in detail the registration that is from Spain and that registration or that registration is relatively new, but it can not be 2 or 3 months at most, so you have made me doubt if you are Spanish doing all videos in english. PS I have seen many videos and I love how professional you are a greeting from Seville, Spain

In my opinion the 1M is one of the coolest BMWs ever made. Keep up the amazing work!
I think your opinion is fact so lets be friends. Thanks Gustav!
"Because race car" Lol, finally someone who knows that! Sick reference, made me chuckle 😊

Fantastic car, the best chasis of that era, with the best engine and all in the smaller 1 series shape
I have to agree with everything you've said A L! Thanks.

Thanks Richard! It's great.
I like the music! Not too soft, not too loud :)

U can wet the floor with water before spraying to prevent dust from getting to the paint and its easier to clean to overspray when u finish

All correct! Mine is a make do situation.
Hey man, what have you done for moisture in the lines? Probably best to get a auto moisture evac for the compressure. Or does that filtration system take care of that?
The A.N.I filter sorts all that out. The air going to the blaster only has a water catch straight out of the compressor.

Maybe I missed this, but what's wrong with the oil pressure gauge?
Hey Connor, thats the oil temp gauge, the 1M takes about 10 mins to properly warm up. I had just started it to move it into the workshop.
Why not a Poliurethane paint on the floor?
Because I'm only renting this place. I wish I could.
