I had the boat in the water yesterday. The water conditions were not Ideal, and did a lot of "launching. and managed to flip it four times." THE boat is now is now nick -named grasshopper. An observation. I had range issues. Maybe 300 feet out, I started to lose the boat. How are you running over 60MPH. And staying in range? And how are you keeping the boat, in the water at that speed . When I hit 40 with the boat, and doesn't want to lay down. I am thinking trim tabs would be really helpful, and maybe tune down the prop, and do something like a CNC .440 ? What other props have you tested ? I have the original Black jack 24. running a TFL. 438. , and runs on a rail. This Black Jack is using the Black Jack 42 prop, and I think, being hi rake, and and a lifting prop, it's too much for this boat. Do you have any new videos of your 6 S setup? Other prop recommendations? My 3 S battery is The Electron Pro 5200 100 C battery and fit the trays fine. Proboat/ Horizon , did a pretty good job on this. Except for the transmitter. That's my first UPGRADE. Thanks, Mark.
The run was only 65mph because of range issues. I installed an sr315 spectrum receiver and dx5 transmitter for more range. I dropped the strut 3mm for all runs. Stock it wasn’t very good. The Vegas version blackjack 24 I have a video of I left everything stock except the prop. I’ve run most of the common props and they all run fine on this hull. The most recent video with the blow over is on 8s. I ran it again yesterday on 6s doing ovals with an abc 1716 and it handled alright. The tfl 438 prop runs good and stays cool on 6s also right around 52-53mph.
Just curios. What batteries were you using on the 6S test. And was this with the stock prop? How did you get the batteries fit on the trays? Awesome vid, by the way. Looking forward to more.
Yowoo 60c 3s 5200 soft packs. They fit perfect in the stock tray at 139mm length which is standard size for a 2 or 3s hard pack. They don’t make those packs anymore but I’ve upgraded to their new 5500’s 150c and I’ve run a best of 81 with those. 65mph was with a stock prop on 6s.
I've been doing some additional research regarding using / testing various props on the Black Jack 24 V2. One of the You-tube guys, said the "Octura X440 "actually ran pretty well on the boat. I was wondering if you had tried that prop, on the boat? And if so; any issues? I can't keep the boat in the water with the stock prop. I was also thinking. Trim tabs would be really helpful. Thoughts? What would be my options? Thanks for your response, in advance. -Mark-
An x440 would be pretty slow, the stock prop is excellent. What actual problems are you having? Maybe post a video. Catamarans don’t need trim tabs not even the terrible ones. What battery packs do you have in it?
I am still trying to feel the boat. I am hooking my turns, and end up dumping the boat. At present I am running two 5000MAH. 50 C , Spekum 2 S ( 4S) run . My 6 S run are two Electron Pro 3S 100 CX2. . The boat is actually more stable, but , the speed is crazy fast. And realistically , too fast. The boat won't stay down, unless I clock back down the power on the TX. . I have taken my Traxas M41 out to 50mph. On the bigger boat, at 50 mph, it's a lot more controllable. With the 6S pack in the Black Jack, V2. I am actually faster than that. But Any wind, or wave, and the boat launces. So, where's the fun in that? And calling for a rescue............. too often? Thanks for the advice ,regarding the prop. I may still try the Octura, just to see what it does? Appreciate the advice. Mark
@@marknickells6097 the m41 handles way better than the bj24. You have to make wide turns relatively fast with the bj24 or it’ll flip over. That’s why I just to straight line runs with the bj24 on video. It handles terrible. It’s not a good design like the v1 when it comes to handling.
She hit the lake today, and was really windy and too much , chop. Did a lot of stunt driving. and some flying, including back stands. I run a cap and a single 4 S batterie. (120 C) , and the boat was a rocket. (Flipped 4 times.), and the 6 S , the lake wouldn't behave. I got one clean 52 mph. run. THE good and the bad. On clean water, it moves. THE bad. And this I don't understand this. . A brand-new, amazing boat. But was paired with the cheapest low power radio they could put in the BOX. And, the range , really sucked. That will need to be addressed. Otherwise, The new Black Jack 24 is a riot to drive. Time to upgrade my batteries. Keep the pedal to the metal.
Yeah the radio and servo are terrible but the motor is really nice. I put the stock motor in one of my race boats. Mines running 65mph ovals right now. It’s a handful compared to higher end hulls but still fun nonetheless. Good boat for the $$
Awesome video
Awesome vid bro
Thank you

What’s propeller are you running? I just got this boat a month ago. I’m going to try trim tabs too
It’s a modded stock prop. A cnc 4219 was the same speed.
