- WOOLSTHORPE MANOR House Tour - Home of Sir Isaac Newton & THE Apple Tree
This was a guided tour we had to book online.
We didn't go into the science centre, which goes more into Newton's work, it's also great for younger children as it adds to their curriculum.
If you would like more information on the National Trust you can find them here: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/
If you would like to donate £5 to the Nation Trust, please text NEWTON to 70525
If you would like to support me and get a shout out, here's the links:
ko-fi.com/carryoncallie - all ko-fi tips go directly back to the National Trust when we visit their café, so you are also helping them with this small contribution.
This is a really lovely place to visit, have you been, tell me about it in the description box below! Can you recommend a NT property for me to visit in the future?
Thank again,
Callie xx

Very peaceful nice music❤❤
thank you for this wonderful video. i think i have seen every documentary about newton and read the biography about him (from james gleick) several times. i really admire him for everything he did and seeing this video with the wonderful music gave me a wonderful experience.
You're very welcome!
It is amazing ❤❤
Witnessing something unreal!
I am surprised that they let you film this, as you mention in the description. Love the countryside.
Well, so was I!! But I was at another today and they are quite happy for us to video and even ask for us to hashtag the place name on our social media. So we’re on a mission now. X
@@CalliesDiarieswhere exactly is Whoolsthorpe Manor?
It's in Lincolnshire, near Grantham, England. If it use google maps you can locate it by typing in Woolsthorpe Manor, it's a National Trust property. Hope that helps!@@TimothyZakaria
@CalliesDiaries thank u hopefully I can visit I really liked Science in school. I didn't know that much about Physics until I was taught Isaac Newton
Beautiful video 👍
Thank you.
Lovely.. i am vegan so i dont like meat part but other things are goooooood
I liked it..❤❤❤❤
That's ok! Am pleased you enjoyed the rest of it.
that was the Eureka moment when he discovered gravity
Most definitely!
Bucket list item
Couldn't agree more, it's been on mine for ages! It really was a lovely place to walk around and see where it all happened!
Thanks for the video. I'm a little bit confused about the apple tree. I looked them up, and they have a lifespan of up to just 50 years; does it regrow from its roots or something?
I have owned apple trees well over 50 years old. There are some in the South West of England that are incredibly old. FATHER OF CLASSICAL MECHANICS PERHAPS NOT SO VALID BUT HELPS IN ACADEMICS
He was certainly a very interesting person, especially when you look deeper!!
Inventor of differential calculus that is still used. Inventor of the reflective telescope, used everywhere. Framed the laws of motion that still govern all motion and transport on Earth, and employed to send rockets into space. Discoverer of the true nature of white light. That's quite an array of earth-shaking achievements.😅
I love his list of sins
Is this the actual house or is it just a remake
it's THE house!
NEWTON HOUSES IN ENGLAND .
Please, sottotitoli!!!
What do you want subtitles on? We don't talk on our video, just play music?
0:33 song name?
Oh wow ! Is that real? I mean not a replica?
Do you mean as in Sir Issac’s genuine home? Then yes, it’s his genuine home. Definitely not a replica as it’s protected by the National Trust It’s a lovely place to visit and the apple tree is THE tree he sat under when he saw the apple fall!
@@CalliesDiaries wow very interesting, maybe 90% parts of the house are original. While I’m watching your video it seems I’m travelling back in sir Isaac newton’s time. Thanks
@@v-for-virgo3387 the food is fake!! Haha!
How is this house still standing after 400 years???
Is this the same house where Newton was born and lived his life???
Is this true??
Yes, this is where he was born and grew up. We build our houses well and it's been cared for and protected by home owners and now the National Trust for many years. A 400 year old house is not old, it's quite young in comparison to many houses that now stand on land that had dwellings on that are anything up to 2,000 years old!
They slept sitting upright in his day??
Hiya, according to guides in 3 places I have visited there were two reason, one because of the smoke inhalation from fires in the grate at night, it kept the fluid from congesting on their lungs which could cause death or at the least a sleepless night, and two for superstitious reasons that the devil would come down the chimney and take your soul, because only the dead laid flat! Just love things like this.
