If you live on the water front exactly what do you periodically expect? This is natural and normal throughout history. You’ll be on the beach by Saturday.

And to answer her question of how deep is the water? Its up to about ankle height. You can tell by it being on the road, but not on the curb she's standing on. Seems pretty normal for an ocean-facing beach.

Sure it's a few inches from there but to be fair, Bayshore is on a retaining wall that sits about 10 or so feet up from the ocean normally. I'm surprised the water reached that far this time. Maybe it just looks ten feet higher in person to me? The surge was only expected to be up to 6 feet in Tampa.

I used to live 1969-1981 along Bayshore Drive just below Euclid, and it was always Hyde Park area just before Platt Street bridge area that flooded during high tide storm surge events.

If there's an evacuation, why is the news crew allowed to be right on the beach?
People please leave! Storm surge is worst than hurricane wind, so don’t focus on your hurricane “experience.” Don’t worry about looting. Everything but life can be replaced. Praying it’s not as bad but even so, we’ll be here to help however we can.

No surprise! Bayshore Blvd in south tampa. S. Tampa only 3 ft above sea level & every heavy rain you can canoe down some residential streets. Can’t fix drainage issues because to close to sea level! Constantly an issue

What about Safety Harbor, and the barrier islands, Clearwater to St. Pete, that is flooded I am sure. And poor Gulfport.

Now I'm questioning the hat all together.....every time these clowns go out they dress for a foggy morning soccer game. If it was really that treacherous wouldn't something like a climbers helmet and some googles be more effective? It's gotta be for the dramatization because it just seems silly to anyone looking at it with any sort of rationale.
