Part 2: • Lou Diamond Phillips o...
Actor Lou Diamond Phillips shared insights into his diverse background and early experiences, particularly focusing on the unique nature of his upbringing as a military child and his initial encounters with racism. Born in the Philippines to a white father and Filipino mother, Phillips moved frequently due to his parent's military ties, which he credits with shaping his adaptability-a trait that eventually proved useful in his acting career.
His stepfather, George Phillips, played a significant role in his upbringing, teaching him discipline and work ethic, which helped ground him when he entered Hollywood. Phillips recalled his first brush with racial prejudice during his college years, a stark contrast to the acceptance he found within military communities, often characterized by a multicultural mix. Despite facing challenges, including financial constraints that thwarted his Yale aspirations, Phillips pursued theater at the University of Texas at Arlington, establishing a path that led to his success in the film industry. - Розваги

This dude is a legend, if you grew up in the 80’s then you saw this dude everywhere. I always thought he was American Indian from when I watched young guns
LOL I can agree . Thats one if my fave movies.
I recall also Kiefer Sutherland was similarly everywhere. I thought both him and Philipps would have more collaborations, as they had good chemistry on screen. Heck, they did a buddy cop movie in Renegades.
Well, he is. Cheeroke, other than being Filipino.
@@anchorpoint3631 Cheeroke? What's that? Like Cheerios?
@ Yes
La bamba and stand & deliver are classics
Cant forget Young Guns 1 and 2. He was CHAVEZ!!
Young guns,chavez!
He blew up Reagans house on Blue Bloods and was laughing in his face about it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Courage Under Fire with Denzel and Matt Damon
They would do this when he was in the movie about Ritchie who died in a plane crash. The eagles beat the 666th winning Washington commanders to get their 666th win and they have 665 losses right now. These are facts. Make sure you count the regular AND postseason. Trump is a wolf on sheep's clothing. Google trump daughter sitting on lap and you can see he still had his 15 year old daughter sitting on his lap. Maga is the 5th and highest degree at the Church of Satan. His grandad is from Germany and voted for grover Cleveland when he came to the US and grover Cleveland was the first and only president to not serve a consecutive term until Frederick trumps grandson did it. Remember trump lost the popular vote in 2016 to Hilary but still won the election because of the electoral college. He cut open a plane cake a few weeks ago. That's symbolism. We entered the 1st and 2nd world war in the year of the snake and this year will be another year for it. Watch the Barack Obama executive produced film, leave the world behind, which talks about a blackout and planes falling out the sky and drone dropping red fliers that say death to america on the front with a snake on the front. We in the year of the snake now. Stay conscious.. they are having the super bowl the same place as the blackout bowl from 2013, another year of the snake in black history month with the second time in NFL history two black QBs play against each other after the black hawk helicopter crash and the eagles getting their 666th win against the commanders the same day the black mamba, Kobe, died. Lots of wicked things to come in the year of the snake. Kobe got 81 points on his 666th game and jordan got 666 points kn the playoffs to win his 3rd chip jn a row before his dad was murdered. They both 3 peated like mahomes will do this supeer bowl and eagles will get their 666th loss and stay on 666 wins. Stay conscious people. It's all corrupted and scripted. Watch leave the world behind, matrix, 1984, they live, and many more movies like this. Even the Stargate movie from 1994. When the eagles lose to mahomes in the supwr bowl, they will have 666 wins and losses. I hope more peope carch on to the deceit and corruption on all levels from sports to music to entertainment to politics. I neeed everyone yo wake up. More plane crashes are coming. They told us this. They just had one on philly. They had the black hawk ho down recently. Remember the black hawk down movie from 2001, another year of the snake and on netflix they are releasing surviving black hawk down feb 10,2025. The mockery and blantant symbolism is real. Blood sacrifices are real. The new world order is real. This is only one small piece to a huge puzzle on the new world order and secret societies. Look into gematria, the coding of letters and numbers. Its how they communicate in code. Please pass this stuff on. We cant fight this stuff without people first being aware of whats going on. Most just wanna play games and watch social media and waste their time and not learn anything or have an open ear or mind. Im 28 but imagine of we had many more 28 year olds interested on finding the truth about the world rather than being entertained. Its a cycle, its about population control, mind control, complete control. But once you take that red pill, youll never see things the same. I thank god for me watching the rigged saints and rams playoff game years ago and seeing that no call pass interference. That alone triggered my journey for truth. People font know just how deceived they are. They wont share those stats i shared during the super bowl but i net theyll yell out every other insignificant stat about rushing yards and rushing tds and all that BS. Unplug everyone. Its time. Time is running out. Y'all still think this stuff is real and has to do about the better team winning. I wish it were that way. Share this and wake people up. I'm not a social media guy. Just into learning and sharing knowledge. I feel it's our job to learn and teach others what we know so we can make a positive change and don't follow the agendas and brainwashing from the programming and narratives given by the elites!!! Only sheep will yell conspiracy theory. There are coincidences but then there are planned events. If it's a coincidence, give me the probability of said outcome happening with the eagles and commanders all time win and loss record. I know these channels i post on see my comments, but as long as these thoughts, ideas, and facts, are planted in the subconscious mind, i know the info is received in some way whether they want to dismiss it or not. Theyll share every stat with you but the ones i shared. Remember that. Please share this with as many as you can and let me know of you want to learn more. I have plenty more to share and others you can follow on youtube for info. We are in the year of the snake. Look back on all the others years of the snake. We entered world war 1 and 2 in the year of the snake. You had pearl harbor in the year of the snake and the release of the movie in the year of the snake as well as the donnie darko movie and black hawk down and Aaliyah died in a plane crash in 2001 year of the snake too. The world wide web was created in the year of the snake as well as the Internet. Travis kelce and Taylor Swift were born the same year in the year of the snake in 89. trump cut open a plane cake a week or so ago. Jimmy Carter died in plains Georgia. From the super bowl to the day that music died when Ritchie Valens and two others died in a plane crash in 1959 is exactly 66 years and 6 days apart. Trump is a Jesuit who went to Jesuit Fordham university. The Jesuits created the illuminati with Adam weishaupt. Israel was created after WW2. The new world order been in planning and effect for centuries. Trump and reagans presidency have so many similaroties and parallels. History repeats itself. Learn your history youll understand your future. Blue , red, Democrat, Republican, it's all the same. Divide and conquer. Create the problem then provide the solution. Trumps real motto is admit nothing and deny everything. He learned from Roy cohn. There is no defending Satan. Remember he ain't even put his hand on the Bible when he was sworn in. Bill Gates, Elon, Obama, Biden, Kamala, netanyahu, the Vatican, the white and black pope, the Jesuits, freemason, etc. They are all a part of this.
This guy is really hollywood royalty. No doubt.

Amen brother

Go bills!!!
Thanks for giving us your life resume 🥴
Man! Lou is the man, La Bamba was my favorite movie as a kid
RITCHIeeeaaayyy!!!!! 😢
Richiiiiieeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can watch it endlessly
Mine too
On My MAMA Bro
Fun Fact: The street that I grew up on has the house that Richie bought his mom in La Bamba in beautiful Fillmore, Ca … what a good dude!
I’m glad VLAD finally interviewed a Hollywood star instead of the tiresome wannabes
Those wannabes made this channel. He can’t forget his roots.
Michael Jai White is a Hollywood star. Not debating who's better. Just not trying to downplay a career to uplift another like you were
😂😂😂😂😂
When he mentions how he was no longer accepted by the white girl's family once they found he was dating their daughter, I immediately think of when he played Richie Valens in La Bamba in a similar situation. I always thought he played that scenario so well in the movie. Now, it makes complete sense, since he actually experienced that in real life. This is why I love these interviews.
One of the most eloquent guys to appear on your show.
Young Guns is an absolute CLASSIC!!
Part 2 also
Nobody could’ve played Ritchie Valens any better !!!!
Yeah.
Carrot top or Dudley Moore could have
I think I saw an interview with Esai Morales. He was saying he was hired to play Ritchy. Read the script and said no, he related to Bob better.
@@dontworrybehappy8080I couldn’t imagine it any other way. That role is one of the most classic roles ever onscreen. He killed it!
@@seltonk5136
Carrot top? 🤨
Love this dude. Grew up to his movies. I myself is a mixed guy (black/filipino) born in Olongapo, Philippines (Subic Bay Naval Base). Never knew LDPhilips upbringing similar to mine.❤
Amazing to hear. Much love & respect to you brother.
VH1 used to play the hell out of La Bamba when I was younger😂😂😂
FACTS lol
You ain't lying!!😂😂
When they were a music channel.
@@michellerosebrown Now you can enjoy their amazing musically-driven programming like “Basketball Wives” and “I Love New York” reruns. Awesome. 🤦🏾♂️
My mom used to play that movie nonstop when I was a child. And I loved it too.
This is an interview worth watching. Lou Diamond Philips is such an incredible actor who’s made the best performance in movies with such passion and ability. La Bamba is such a classic that tells the story of Ritchie Valens being the first latino of rock and roll that was monumental. There’s a lot I want to learn about him as he is here to tell his life story and struggles.
Lou diamond role in Young Guns was epic!!! Still one of my favorite movies!!
My whole life I thought he was Mexican
I'm half Irish and half Malaysian, everyone thinks I'm Latino. Latinos come up to me and just start speaking Spanish XD
I always thought he was native American

This is fuckjng dope Vlad. You did amazing with this one. This is the interview that I didn’t know I needed
He's a Legend for LA Bamba, him and Esai Morales (Bob), and honestly the entire cast was great. One of, if not my favorite biopic ever made. And I had no idea who Ritchie Valens was as a kid watching this
Surprisingly I didn't know he have a Filipino blood... Mabuhay!... "La Bamba" and "Stand & Deliver" are still my favorite movies of all time...great movies!
La Bamba made my late sweet mother Gabrielle cry. She said that the Lou Diamond Phillips character Richtie reminded her of my kid brother. Valens is a solid actor!
Thank God my kid brother is doing fine with his beautiful family today.
RIP Ritchie Valens
The big hit with him and mark Wahlberg was a great movie
fax
Love that one. Crazy I just thought of that movie the other day.
Yes! Such an underrated movie
Lou Diamond Phillips is a truly fascinating person. I hope one day someone decides to do a biopic on his life. It would be absolutely amazing to see that happen. He is without a doubt one of the greatest actors in the history of cinema.
Yall sleeping on his best scene: his crash out in Courage Under Fire when he drives down the tracks full speed head on into that train. That literally was 🔥
“Night Train” Monfreze.
@ boom. That’s it. Couldnt remember the character name
Man, Lou is so wholesome.
From The Big Hit to Rusty on American Dad, Young Guns, LDP always nails his roles. Love this guys work.

Now I gotta watch both Young Guns movies again, both are good
Seeing Lou and Esai and the cast of La Bamba was the first time seeing people who looked and came from my background. At 8 years old it was the first time I knew we didn’t have to be the bad guys in the movies. Thank you.
This dude brings me back to my childhood he was in so many great action movies back in the day.
That awkward silence before you hear, "Well it's your first time here and I want to start at the very beginning.." 😂😂😂
“Well it’s your first time here so I wanna start at the “VERY VERY BEGINNING “ Vlad keep killing it love from Oakland
This is great Vlad, would love to see more actors on your channel
Lou Diamond from corpus christi tx
No way! Looking forward to this full interview
I grew up in the military and served myself. Military life is not good for children AT ALL! I went to 18 different schools and was constantly ‘misused’ by teachers that had no attachment to the new kid showing up in their class midsemester.
I am retired Army and both my sons are fantstic young men.
Finally! One of my favorite actors. This is gonna be good 👍🏻
Finally, some real content instead of scandal. Looking forward to this interview from a legend considering he doesn’t do many of them.
Lou Diamond Phillips is chill AF
I am sooo here for this interview 🙌
im the same mix as him and i lived on that same base and went to the same school
@calij6121 I’m half Filipino and born on Subic 1971, I hope all is well with you ❤
One of the best interviews I’ve heard on here in awhile. Great storyteller
Omg! Vlad you snapped with this one. Much respect 🙏
"In a Class of His Own" is My Fave Lou 💎 Phillips Movie... AND Da Movie dat made me a LDP Fan 🙌🏾💯

He such a good actor you couldn’t tell me he wasn’t Mexican 😂

😂 Dude got typecast as an ethnicity he got nothing to do with, and effectively too. It’s a lot better than having a John Wayne pretend to be Mexican at least.
Does "Lou Diamond Phillips" or "Louis Upchurch" sound "Mexican" to you? Lmao
He reminds me 💯 of my cousin Oscar ! Same mannerisms same speech. Never knew he was mixed thought he was native. He's good ..... che vato ....
Say what you want about Vlad but this wow
good interviewee 🤜🏽🤛🏽
Just like his character in La Bamba - he was dating a snow bunny and her white family was trippin'
You tripping snow bunny
I had a girl, Donna was her name.... ohhh donnnna, ohhhh donnnna.
I’m a light skinned Mexican, same thing happened to me 1998 with a white girlfriend. In high school I was over her house and over heard them telling her why is she dating La bamba..
Does Vlad not listen? Lou just tells him about his father’s passing and mom remarrying and then Vlad’s next question is about his father passing and mother remarrying…
Dude always does that, he's following a script so even if they just tell him something he'll literally ask about it if it's the next question in the script he's reading
You're the best and standing deliver the movie
He was great in The Big Hit ❤
Sure glad I came across this video. I was a classmate of Lou at Flour Bluff, along with Danny and Tony. It's good to know that he never felt any bias against him at our school. I did experience some racism when I was in elementary school there, but not too much later on when we were in high school. Having family in the military does turn you on to a lot of stuff other Americans might not experience. I saw Lou's mother at his house once. She was a tiny little Filipino woman. There were several Filipino kids at our school. Never thought much of it. My family moved away before I finished high school. I really missed that place and those guys. Then later on, I see Lou in La Bamba. Life is a trip ain't it. Hats off to Danny for becoming a teacher. I bet he was a good one.
It’s cool that he got accepted to an Ivy League school, it sucks that he couldn’t afford to go. And I’m glad he was happy at Texas Arlington university. What’s crazy is about two years ago, the University of Texas became an Ivy League school just like Rice University. I know everybody outside the state of Texas thinks that we’re just a bunch of dummies riding horses and saying Howdy. But we’re pretty smart here too.
Never expected this one 🙂 looking forward to it
Corpus Christi Texas !!!!!

The parallels that many of us share with Loud Diamond Phillips are striking. Growing up in California, I was treated like any other American child by the parents of my friends. Heck, my dad's best friend in Oakland was a German and my father was very Mexican. When we moved back to Texas, it was vastly different, and I was looked at differently by some folks, not all, but enough to make it apparent that I was in a different reality.
