2D Intro Animation: What used to be exclusive to our game trailers and at live showcase events can now be enjoyed by ALL players in the new demo! This amazing 2D animation puts you in the perspective of Vadim, a soldier of the Earth Counter Invasion Force (ECIF), as he battles The Meat across multiple environments you can expect to see in the final game!
New Opening Cutscene: How the hell did The Meat invasion start anyway? Well, this new in-game cutscene answers just that! Players will be able to see how scientist Yuri Markov and lunar soldier Sasha begin their roles in Iron Meat's visual story! We hope you enjoy this narrative addition to the demo!
Opening Story: As Yuri Markov studies The Meat at his research base on the Moon, the entity suddenly breaks out, takes control of the scientist, and begins wreaking havoc! Rushing onto the scene is Sasha--a veteran soldier who sends a signal to Earth warning the ECIF about the impending invasion! But as Sasha transmits her message, a horde of Meat creatures arrives, prompting her to abandon the lab and search for any other humans on the Moon Base! As Markov unleashes The Meat invasion upon Earth, we find ourselves at a military base already under attack!
Fixes & Technical Updates:
- Updated gamepad support
- Fixed a visual issue showing the wrong life-count
- Fixed responsiveness of game on multiple screen resolutions
- Other performance enhancements
- English, Russian, and Portuguese languages now supported in-game, with even more localizations coming in the final version
- Removal of City: While the City level is no longer playable, we wanted to showcase all the visual and internal changes from all the work we've been doing! Players can look forward to playing on City again when the game launches later this year!

the presentation of this game is just perfection. The soundtrack and artstyle somehow work together to make me feel this potent dread when I look at these enemies. The train boss intro was fucking nuts, the screen shake and the half-metallic/half-organic scream as it coils around your train twice just to show you its full size, and the design that makes you wonder where the train ends and the crew/occupants begin...
Imagine how fuck-huge the protagonist's balls have to be. A living midnight meat train with teeth comes barreling at him like the devil's own flailing phallus, and he just starts blastin'. He just starts BLASTIN'. "Yeah I know you're about 10,000 tons of blended meat and steel, but have you considered EXPLOSIONS?"
I think the intro stage puts it into perspective. By the time the player reaches the stage boss all his comrades are dead. That solider is the only thing standing between a meat takeover.
@@MegaYoYo That's another thing, something about the amount of allies slowly dwindling in the background is horrific. That opening stage where all the gunfire can be seen in the trees is haunting when you know that they're just being slaughtered left and right out there. It's a regular meat-nam.

There's all these great old games that I've always said, just upgrade the graphics and keep the mechanics. No need to go 3d or first-person and change the game completely just to ride on the name. This game looks amazing and really captures that Contra style.
I fell like Contra 4 peaked with graphics but then new games just keep coming out with excellent art direction

the game is visually brilliant, but then you have high res text and low res style graphics, just doesn't fit at all

Everything looks very awesome, except for main character's head, which seems to be in less-detailed art style
You can customize your character's sprite like build-a-bear toy, using parts from different sets. And there is one joke set that looks like Barney Dinosaur. It's in no way is something mandatory, you change it.
I'm glad the option is there. I play too much to take everything seriously

Very soon these cool 90s style 2D games like IronMeat, Valfaris will kill these RPGs and other genres....Valfaris has the coolest soundtrack in the background and also the character....
IronMeat is cool as hell too, i can compromise with background soundtrack but the shooting character....nahh... that lizard head ...nahhh

The player sprite looks like its misplaced. Couldn’t play it because of this. Gameplay looks right though. Though projectiles look kind of cheap. Music is not fitting, since Valfaris is already using it and it really belongs to them. Also sound effects sometimes are not fitting, when projectiles hit something which is irritating. Also I don’t know, the saws in front of the car a little bit too much satire. Though all the other satirical style works for me.
That sprite is plater made. The default looks better. As far as the rest of the game it blends well and I’ve never had problems seeing enemy projectiles

Nah. It’s your “gore” ? Even doom troopers has more violence. Don’t get it wrong, it’s just blood splat after they die. All enemies looks kinda cool but with this visual art style it’s just doesn’t work. And dinosaur guy ruin it too. Is this serious universe or it baby shit?
I like the idea of friendly npc, really good vibe. You can show violence on them, and make player feel sorry for you can’t help them like in quake 2.
Or some shocking turning scene of “friend” like in splatterhouse. Enemies design can be more fearful - make them looks like they suffering.
You had to make the stupidest looking character, not a hard guess if you ask me.
If this game is gonna get another update, they better remove all that crap and get better artists so they can make better character designs, all of them look as if they have some sort of problem or something.
I doubt they will. Making dumb characters if fun. Plus, they have default character for those that don't want a wonky character
