Had most of these on tape. This was right at the beginning for me. My first year of C64. Fantastic memories. I got my 1541 drive soon after and here I am 35+ years later still going
Super Pipeline i remember it because was using c64 graphic to try yo give realistic shades to the water pipes, a change from the usually abstracted graphics on arcade of the last two years
I like this video very much, I got my C64 in 1986, so I didn't play a lot of these games, and I only knew them by fame. They're not that impressive compared to titles from the 90s, but they show a lot of skill from the programmers. Many of them are still seen as milstones!
Quick look for what's not in video: Aztec Challenge and Forbidden Forest originals as far as I know. For covers, Dragon's Den, Killerwatt, Shamus, Trooper Truck, Survivor and Protector 2.
hey there , i'm asking about C64 game ( 1982 or 1984) that you control a Jamaican man with dreadlocks hair, searching for his music instruments , guitar ,drums ..... etc , someone help me please
Nope, this rare contraption was released in -85 www.c64-wiki.com/wiki/NEOS_Mouse Many games back in the day were designed so that the cursor speed would increase the longer you hold a direction with joystick.
einokeino303 Cheers for that. My old mate from Primary School got a Commodore around the time and had that game for it. I didn't get a C64 until the Xmas of '86 (had a Speccy before that). 1987 was also a great year for games (bought quite a few then)...........Happy Days.
David Cook Yea, I think 1986 - 1988 was when the c64 game industry peaked so games from this era are best remembered, ofc not counting the iconic classics such as Bruce Lee :) Afterwards, ppl were looking for an alternative to replace the good old c64 with a new computer such as Amiga or a 16-bit console. Around 1990 c64 was getting mostly poor games, because not much motivation / effort was present at development anymore.
Just going by when the adverts and reviews started appearing in magazines, which was ~January 1985 in the US (and a few months later in the UK), it was likely a Christmas 1984 release. Lemon 64 is useless for earlier release dates unfortunately. The copyright dates are going to be for the arcade version, which was released late in 1983 IIRC.
I just found a really cool knock off that had a sequel that is even cooler! It's called 'Crossroads 2' published in Compute! Gazette magazine in 1988. Really fun! Here is a link to it: www.mediafire.com/file/556jrubemjmvwb9/Crossroads+2.Compute.zip
Great collection. Pitstop... What a fun time!

I loved playing Gateway to Aphsai. It was like an early RPG.
Splendido!! Classe 1980. Ricordi bellissimi, grazie di averli caricati.
Over 40 years, I didn’t know it was “Spy Hunter” that included the Peter Gunn theme.
Aah, Spy Hunter and Super Pipeline were among my favorite c64 games.

Any good soundtracks from this year, besides Ultima 3, Archon and MULE? I'm looking for osts with more than just short "jingles" in them.

Was Bruce Lee released in '83 (or was that '84?)

A cracked version of Donkey Kong by the 1103 team !
Old-Schooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!
Hate to say it, but Spy Hunter came out on the C64 in 1984....
What's your reference? I see Mobygames has 1984 as release year. Gamesbase64, Lemon64, c64-Wiki and copyright date at the start screen quote 1983.
