Excellent idea! i will make 3 of them and put one each in a gift bag together with a good cigar. My two good friends can then choose one of them and open the gift bag. then we'll have a nice smoke, a good rum as well and a good time. thats what friends are for...THX Greets from Vienna/Europe
Very good job! I like the portability of your pipe stands. You inspired me and have me thinking about the leather pipe stand… I need something that is kind of sturdy since I’m occasionally clumsy…maybe it’s the rum beverage I enjoy when I smoke a pipe? What if the leather loop was made with three or four layers. Possibly glueing or lacing the layers together? And maybe make the layers staggard in height possibly a quarter inch to give a wider base? I saw one guy use leather spacers and a bolt with a nut rather than a snap. I might experiment and use spacers of varying heights so that it forms a slight cradle. I have not tried leather working since I was in the Boy Scouts 45 years ago. I might just give it a try. Thank you!
Great idea! I'll be making one of these! My very first leather project was a cigar case and they are loads of fun! Zippo lighter wraps are a great project as well. Favorite cigar is a National brand. Mild and sweet dipped. Great smoke.
I've made some pipe rests like that, never thought about cigar holders. Thanks for the idea. You do really nice work. My favorite cigars are the Arturo Fuentes Hemingway series. Love the Cameroon wrappers.
Awesome video brother! I'm new to pipe smoking AND new to leather work. I've seen a few videos of people reviewing "pipe rolls"... do you think that may would be something you could make a video on showing dimensions of and making? I've tried making a template with paper for one, but with my "novice-ness" I'm having some issues accounting for the thickness and suppleness of the leather. Sure would be nice to see one done to specs from an expert for us to watch! :) As always, thanks again for the great content! Keep on keepin' on!
Yes. Always case(wet) leather before stamping. Be sure to wait a bit before stamping after water is applied. I generally start stamping when the leather starts changing color back to its normal tan

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not much of a pipe smoker but I can definitely look into the pipe rolls.
