    Nobody mentions that the CSP comes with a free doordash dash pass subscription for 2 years. If you use door dash at least twice a month this would more than make-up for the annual fee, add in the $50.00 hotel credit and they are paying you $75.00 a year to keep the card.

    Csp needs to change 3x online grocery to 3x grocery and that card would be great.
    Most ppl who do online grocery
    Mostly would have a better grocery or online grocery cc for it or their store cc.

    Which would be the best one to use for overseas? Chase looks pretty strong for domestic because of their partners and the portal prices are pretty much the same, but I was looking at the portal prices for overseas flights and hotels and they are WAAAYYYY more expensive than if you were to book through other methods. Kinda makes the portals not worth it, even with the 5x bonus points. I also like the idea of 3x the points for dining for chase but I'm worried that overseas restaurants (like in europe or australia) may not have registered as 'dining' so then you miss out on the points for that. Has anyone had experience with this? I'm planning on visiting my family in australia for a few months then europe for a few months so I'll be out of the US for a while...

    • @fogrunr5075
      @fogrunr5075 Рік тому +1

      For overseas we like the Capital One SavorOne & Venture cards, because we like to stay in studios or lodging that has a kitchen so we can buy groceries and cook local food as well as dine out or have food delivered.
      I convert the groceries and dining 3% cash back from the SavorOne to Venture miles, then transfer them to travel partners on future trips. I also watch for miles purchase deals with frequent flyer programs such as Air Canada's Aeroplan. If I use the Venture to buy Aeroplan miles, I get 2X Venture miles + the Aeroplan bonus miles. Then I look for deals on other airlines going to Europe for example to get an additional 1.5X to 2X.
      We really like to cook together when we're on overseas vacations, and the Chase cards just don't provide that option because they charge the 3% foreign transaction fee. The same is true with American Express, Citi, Wells Fargo, etc for overseas groceries.
      Capital One cards do really well!

    Question: can you use the Venture X portal to book a round-trip international ticket WITH several legs/a few stopovers, AS OPPOSED to having to book it separately as several one-way flights?? I spent 45 minutes with a supervisor and he didn't know...and travel center will only talk to a current cardholder!! Thanks so much for the help. The travel agent I use is able to book it all as 1 roundtrip international flight with a few extra stopovers, which is WAAYYY more economical than it being listed as several one-way flights. IF I can do that using the Venture X, then I will likely get the card. Thanks again for finding out and letting me/us know about it. Maybe it can be a whole video about booking such a flight.

    CSP got significant updates this year while Venture kind of stagnated after the VX release, so yes CSP is probably better now between those two. But, a.) You can pool points with C1 also, b.) which one has better partners is subjective, and c.) VX is arguably better than both CSP and CSR as a travel card for most people and can be paired with savor to great effect. Also, I believe that getting the extra 25% value requires using your points upfront, which means you lose the ability to earn additional points on those purchases while C1 builds around the purchase eraser.

    we call these cards tier 3 cards not starter cards?
    I like the old way for the Venture card spend 3,000 in 3 months get 70,000 miles better than spending 4,000 ?
    so with the Sapphire 2x on dining and travel 1 point on all other purchases so if you went to say a sports store/ sporting good store and you spent
    50.00 withe the Sapphire you would get 50 points with the Venture card you would get 100 miles! if you went to Kohls , Bed Bath and beyond , TJ Max
    and you spent 30.00 to 50.00 for the chase card you would get 30 to 50 points with Capital one you would get 60 miles to 100 miles.
    yes for family's traveling to California as an example you do get better points but it also takes longer to get there away from the dining and travel you only get 1 point. but yeah if you can get the points Chase has closer vacations Capital one has more luxary vacations.
    for downgrading the Basic Sapphire you only get 2x on dining and one point on all other purchases they charge a 3% foreign Trans action fee
    down grading from Venture to Venture1 1.25 miles per dollar on every purchase and no Foreign trans action fees .

    • @docsays
      @docsays 2 роки тому

      He refers to them as starter cards because they are both low AF travel cards.
      Also not sure why someone would want a basic sapphire card instead of the regular CSP. With the hotel credit its only a $45 AF card. And if redeem via travel portal the dining is 3.75x & travel is 2.5x. But if you don’t care about travel & just want cashback either of the freedom cards are much better options. Just sayin

      @marksantucci4230 2 роки тому

      @@docsays well we refer to them as tier 3 cards not starter cards I have both the Venture 1 and the basic Sapphire and I've had cards since

      @poesyfan28 2 роки тому

      @@marksantucci4230 sorry i just saw these responses, sure the og freedom and the flex can over lap with the discover it, but nothing about the sapphire’s multipliers would make anyone want to use the card, and per TPG you can’t transfer points out with the basic sapphire. Why does it matter if Chase copies? They recognized a good idea. You have a choice between a card that isn’t competitive vs a card that can be competitive.
