  • Welcome to part 2 of my EH Holden Panel Van Restoration build series. Come on the journey with me as I learn new skills as a backyard car restorer on this classic panel van that holds so much sentimental value. The EH Holden has always held a special place in automotive enthusiasts' hearts, and in particular, this was a panel van that my Dad started to restore before he passed.
In this video, I will show you the process I followed to find, cut out and treat common rust areas of my EH Holden Panel Van Restoration build. By finding these hidden areas of rust, I am able to weld new steel in place and treat areas for future corrosion, which will help make this near 60 year old EH last another 60 years.
Throughout the video, you'll see the work I go through from cutting, drilling spot welds, rust converting and treating, and shaping new steel in place; every stage is crucial to ensure a quality job. I'll be sharing some tips and tricks I've learned along the way, so whether you're a car enthusiast or simply interested in restoration projects, this video has something for you!

You’ve made quite a few mistakes there I see first rule always trial fit parts first and set your gaps properly before fully welding aka good luck with the guard gap to the end of the sill panel and front of the door ..second mistake I’ve learned on Eh holdens always fit the whole sill panel don’t be scared to cut open the quarter panel and the inside of the wheel arch for hand access on butt welding hammer and dolly work 3rd mistake is being fooled by a rotisserie quickly lose your gaps with out front sub frame and guards on .. EHs are a beautiful thing anyway good luck

Are you planning on hitting all of the hollow spaces in the car with weld through primer like you mentioned you'd do on the hollow space at 13:30?

Nah just weld through primer on the places that join when welded, but I’m putting POR15 rust converter paint everywhere else as a sealer. That is the black stuff you see under the sill before I put the outside on
