One of their tag-lines is "Too rock for country, too country for rock"
Everyone in that band is a great musician
I've seen them live. They are INCREDIBLE! One of my favorite bands.
Amen to this!!!
I like the Government Mule reference and they have toured together and it makes a great show.
If you get to see them live..... you WON'T be disappointed.
I've seen them live twice....I concur with this statement
I've seen them six times and it is a kick ass rock and roll show!!! A little advice...bring a spare liver because it is a beer drinking good time!
Paul(second guitarist) is actually the one playing through the Orange. Charlie the lead guitarist plays through a couple different heads/cab combo's. Germino Lead and Master heads. And he also has a Marshall JCM 800. Through 4x12 Germino cabs.
Great band. If they come to your area you have to see them. They are even better live!
When I first heard them I saw it they were a rock band with a country. Now I just hear a phenomenal kickass band I've seen them four times and I will never miss a show in my area. Welcome to the fan club buddy
Dude you been under a rock. If you ever see this band you will be a fan for life. They have been around since early 80's but got rolled up early in the Capricorn Records fail and it has taken F O R E V E R for them to get traction. Their last two albums have dropped at #1 on British charts. The lime's love these guys. I have seen them multiple times and I promise you you are going to dig this.
They have been around since 2000. But anyway…..
They are my favorite band. I'm up to 12 shows with the 13th coming up in a couple weeks. Anything if theirs is fantastic and even more so when they do it live.
Seen them 3 times in a year. I want miss a show anywhere close to me!
A better live band doesn't exist. Being in Atlanta for the last 30 years has been great. If there was somewhere they could set up and play, they did. I saw them play the grand opening of a new library about 18 years ago. Them boys work hard. Get well soon, Brit!
"skinny dippin in the chattahoochie"...
Best live band in the world
amps ... i learned this from a night hanging out with the Rev. Billy Gibbons he said vox from the 60s or marshall from the 70s . he said " aint no tubes there aint no groves "
My first time watching any of your reaction videos. He's playing that in open G is why he can play full chords easily. Just lay your index finger over all 6 strings on any fret and strum. That's a chord. From your 6th string (low E) tune 6=,D, 5=D, 4=D, 3 =G, 2=B, 1=d. Keith Richard's tuning.
I saw them twice, once opening for Skynyrd and once as headliners. They are a fantastic mix of blues, southern rock and country. I call this their BlackBerry Zeppelin medley. Up and coming musicians need to pay attention to them. This is how it's done.
Warren Hayes has played with Blackberry Smoke live.
Blackberry Smoke is all KILLER and no filler!
Sanctified Woman is the most "rockin'" song they have out but EVERY song they play live is killer!
There is an amazing acoustic performance of this song on blackberry smoke’s UA-cam channel as well.
I hope you get a chance to see them live because they’re fantastic. They tour constantly so you can probably find a show near you before too long.
MBD, I just found your channel based on this video and subscribed. Blackberry Smoke is a great band I hope you check out more of their work! Welcome to the family
Absolutely need to see them live if you still haven't. I saw them again last weekend at a huge Harley Davidson dealership's music venue (The Shed Juke Joint). They do a lot of Mashups in their live shows. They rocked about a 2 1/2 hour set. They never disappoint!
Oh yeah Charlie Starr makes it look so easy. Saw them Live in Nashville with ZZ top in '17. Blackberry smoke is best live. They are great performers and ZZ Top still sounded great.
I had Jamey Johnson tickets and Blackberry Smoke was to open up for them but my kids first baseball game was the same night so I sold my tickets.
I was at the same show. It was one of the best concerts I've ever seen!
They did this version here at the House of Blues in New Orleans...when they broke out the transition into When the Levee Breaks...you could feel the energy. I damn near had tears...okay I did.
Best band in the land. And this coming from a heavy metal guy!
I saw them in Pittsburgh on the “Smokin’ Mule” tour. With Govt Mule.
Nice coverage of Blackberry Smoke. Will "forgive" you for only hearing of BBS 4 years ago. I only saw them on Colbert for the 1st time in 2017. Seen them live in Paris 2018, Portland, Or 2019, Anvers/Antwerp 2019, Paris 2023 and upcoming Tacoma 15 Sept. 2023. Two meet and greets. The Smoke are the real deal. In all their interviews they say they are a "Rock and Roll" band. Southern Rock OK. It's rock and roll with a southern twist. Long-haired duds that knock your socks off. I literally said, "What the..." when I saw them sing "Waiting for the Thunder" on Colbert. Heard the sound and started dancing. Looked at the screen and said: long-hair, beards, etc. Don't matter folks. See them LIVE. New album just teased out now with "Dig A Hole". Release Feb. 2024. Charlie Starr is an absolute poet in his lyrics. The band has been together for 22 years. Pure gold. Merci, thanks for this "Metal Biker Dude Reacts" clip. From near Paris, France.
Charlie is great and you will love all their music lol!!!
Lol probably the longest tune u ever did a reaction to. B.B.S ROCKS! Even when there not rockin 👍🏼
Awesome love band. I saw them with ZZ Top. Those guys can still rock out.
Seen them in Indiana this year .love them so much listen everyday
Saw Blackberry Smoke with Tedeschi Trucks Band this summer and they were great. You mentioned Gov't Mule in your reaction. It would be cool to hear you do a reaction/review of one of their songs ("Mule", "The Deep End", "Bad Little Doggie", etc.).
“Like I Am” is one you would LOVE!!!
Welcome to the brotherhood my man BBS is for real
One horse town by these guys is great!
I've seen BBS live twice, both in Omaha and can say they put on a great live show.
I had the pleasure of seeing BBS and the Mule in Nashville. what a show!!!!!!
Check out Charlie Starr with gov't mule can't you see. Best dueling guitar solo ever. You won't be disappointed.
BBS kick ass !!! Thanks for the reaction! They have a quiver of good sh*t
I first heard them about 10 years ago....liked em from start...
Charlie plays this song in open G tuning, (just like Keith Richards). Charlie is a great player and slide player. Check out videos of him playing with Warren Hanes and Gov't Mule. BBS is the real deal Southern Rock band. Great original songs.
"Medicate my Mind"! 💯💓
My favorite band. I totally agree ..they are at their best live.
Seeing them live in Columbus Ohio in late February 2024! And yes, you are also correct on Govt. Mule!! I have seen them a couple times!
BlackBerry Smoke is the best damn band in the land!!
I was playing guitar in a hotel room with Waddy Wachtel and Keith Richards so nervous I could hardly move. Waddy said "Hey relax man, nobody here gives a shit".
Charlie Stars one of the few people that have been able to go in and sit down and play some of the rare guitars that are in no Museum Clapton's one guitar number of them Charlie Starr is a phenomenal guitarist
Seen BBS three times. Your right you NEED to see them live! Great band
Please react to "One horse town" by them, it is really good too.
They roll under southern rock that store this is the best live recording of this Blackberry Smoke live North Carolina it's like a documentary and concert together that would be really good they also have acoustic versions of this the videos of them on UA-cam there's only a handful of good audio
Immortal Technique - Rich Mans World (1%)
I absolutely love Blackberry Smoke only have seen them through UA-cam favor get a chance to see them live I'll be there I'm going to check out government mule
there are a few jams of blackberry and mule together on here
I have their "Like an Arrow" album on my I-phone. Killer southern rock album.
Waiting for your next smoke reaction!!
Best new southern rock band in years!!!
They’ve been rockin’ and kickin’ butt for 20 yrs dude!
@@tamlynriley7960 I know. I bought the first album when it was a new release
Look up the Elton John song they covered on the acoustic tour called Burn Down The Mission, it is cool as hell the way they performed it.
Gov't mule and Charlie Starr from blackberry smoke actually did a classic rock song live called cant u see what that woman been doin to me. U should check it out. They preformed it together live...
That's a Marshall Tucker tune.
I’ve seen them 4 times, and met them twice.. very cool dudes...dig their cover of Hatchets Flirtin WithDisaster...they played NewYearsEve2017 in Louisville, and it ROCKED....
Rest in Peace Britt.
14:20 I have never seen then live. I've been a fan since 2008.
Done good versions of Faeries Wear Boots and plenty of Zep. Perfect one from them is Your Time is Gonna Come.
But on the Sabbath drumming, Black Berry keeps a beat that is great for their style, not as intricate as Ward :)
Black Berry Smoke also played along with Leslie West with a nice long jam which was very cool. And I think Gov't Mule and them toured together.
I think Alvin Lee and Rory Gallagher played chords while waiting with the slide on their pinky. Great blues
I'm commenting in real time lol. They transition back to the original song. It's kind of their trademark they do this quite a bit.
You need to check out Toy Caldwel from the original Marshal Tucker band
The Live in Carolina concert is great it also tells the story of the band.
You really should check out "White Lightning" by Cadillac Three or "Reckoning" by Whiskey Myers!
RIP Brit
Great review dude - just for info, Charlie plays through either a JCM800 or Germino head depending on the venue, the Orange your seeing there is what Paul Jackson (the other guitarist) plays through but goddamn, they do sound good either way dont they!
Its "Southern Rock"....you know like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Government Mule, 38 Special ect ect ect
Hes also tuned to an open G. low to high D, G, D, G, B, D
Open G baby 💯✌️
You have officially been smoked.
Look for rockpaloza.
These guys have played quite a bit with Warren and Gov't Mule
lagrange ga not missippi
Metal Biker Dude Reacts Hey I clicked because I'm a biker dude that loves Blackberry Smoke. Just a little criticism, the background music is off putting.
Charlie has done some picking with Govt mule
