Met this guy in the parking lot of a Dallas joe convention... cool guy and great reviews! I always come here after acquiring a new piece. Thank you brother!
I always thought this came out with the first or second wave of Joe vehicles for some reason. love how informative all of your reviews are! thank you!
Another great review! FYI, the LCV Recon sled appears in the issue 68 of the comic where it is driven by Duke and the vehicle's small stature actually plays a small part in the plot.
I decided to pick this vehicle up based on your review. Never gave this guy the time of day as a child but after the video I decided to purchase a new one and give it a shot. Looking forward to getting my package in the mail. Thanks man.
Love your reviews, keep em coming. Hope to see more Joe comic reviews as well.
Could you imagine ever driving something like this?
Great one! I remember getting mine in a yard sale boxed in 1987!
you said it m8 ,not ALL of Us had the funds back then to get a USS FLAG or the big sets...
and thats what today is also ... lets be honest TODAYS TOYS ARE EXPENSIVE ! and getting the old scool stuff ...well ...
ive seen a Tomahawk go for 1500 $ !! (in the box ) DOH ! i would really love to have a nice g i joe collection again !
great review of a cool vehicle there :) YO JOE !!!!
Nice work As always
TheDarthvalen Thank you, sir!
LOL I was a army officer for 8 years but you can call me Manny
TheDarthvalen Aye aye, Captain?
Army yep
Great review of the recon sled Bryan. Had that thing for over a year and never knew it clicked into the upright position and really thought it was cool how you showed the recon sled with the tomahawk. I'm sure as a kid if I had these I would have done that cause I'm sure after a few months of having them I would have lost the canopy for the lcv and the seats for the tomahawk.
Chris Michalec So missing parts can sometimes be an advantage. :)
Chris Michalec The adjustable body is noted on the box. I don't have the box, but 3dJoes has a nice picture of it. I've been wanting to try out the LCV in the Tomahawk, so this video was a nice opportunity to do it! As far as I know, it is the only vehicle which will (sort of) fit.
I'm going to have to check out the pic in 3dJoes.
Great video and I loved the new portion of your channel "does it fit in the Tomahawk". For a simple vehicle, it did a lot of things I wished more of the small vehicles did. It had a clear glass canopy. It has decent armaments that pivot. A seat that allows rider to look like they are actually driving. And no missiles to lose. I'd say except for the periscope (to lose), this was a good deal better than most of the small vehicles. Maybe if the front set of wheels had been replaced with another style of wheel this may have been more well loved. I really liked it for pure military usefulness. Low crawl, quick to get behind an enemy. Glad you covered this. I detailed my original one to get rid of the yellow-tan parts to a darker military green paint scheme and it does help make it more camo friendly. Bazooka, on the other hand, does not help camouflage anything.
sam torres No disrespect to Steve Grogan, but his jersey makes Bazooka a big fat target.
i still have it ... is a cool vehicle, mine is cobra propiety now
Really like this vehicle
I don´t know why everyone hates the small wind up sets. Pls test the litle three wheeled one in the Tomahawk! It fits relativley easy with a figure on and works with the Tomahawk ramp! As a kid i played everytime with the little trike and my Tomahawk! It was awesome. But nice vid overall. ty!
***** I intend to review all vintage Joe toys, so I will eventually get to the wind-up trike. It will be a while before I get to that one, though.
The lower price point vehicles were great. They were easy to pack to school or a buddies house, or even just setting up a small mission at home. Hasbro really outdid every other toy line at the time with the variety of vehicles they had. I still loved my bigger rattler
and m.o.b.a.t and the like but the small sets were still equally fun.
review of one my first vehicles as a kid, and favorite
james strickland I'm glad I got to one of your favorites!
The reconstruction sled did make an appearance in the comic book on the same issue as battle force 2000 did
+calimaddog73 I checked, and you're right. I didn't notice it at first because it sneaks in at the end of the issue. Not a very noteworthy appearance.
Driving this would be a good way to get an abs workout!
The Recon Sled is a motorcycle. That explains the Joe's in the cartoon driving it 90 mph down the highway. I always loved this vehicle I thought it looked good with the Havoc and prefer it to the hover craft vehicle it carried. I love the small vehicles and battle stations if you have more review them.
affoster79 I do intend to get to the little battle stations, but I have quite a few items in the queue before them. I definitely want to cover them. Personally, I love the small vehicles, but I suppose at some point I need to look at the big ones, too.
I never had this and never wanted it. Still a good review.
This was a silly concept but my childhood imagination was overwhelmed. I would use this vehicle as the backup for the havok since I also viewed the havok as a recon vehicle as well. Nuff said.
were is your gi joe motor cycle review
Any bumps on the road = teeth first into the dashboard.
Good point. That would be a bit problem with this.
OUCH!!!!
Similar problem with the HAVOC.
I hate the Silver Mirage. It should have been the standard for Joe motorcycles, but falls apart if a dog farts next door. The L.C.V. isn't amazing but you can actually fiddle with it and it won't blast apart.
hmm i another joe ride that i have very mixed feelings on...for the positives..i like how armed this is. i like the color choice overall...i also, like you, enjoy its pseudo real world aesthetic. What the deal breaker for me personally is that tread system up front. would have made ALOT more sense to me to have the tire first then the treads. its an odd duck...i would have rather either have had a full tread..or maybe a motorcycle/trike look instead.
Still as a budget toy not a bad purchase. this would def have found use in my play sessions..but regrettably....might have been cannon fodder for cobra ;-)
In one comic that tiny recon motor play impotent role . Hawk use this to run from fictional country in Greenland & beware one diplomat from hidden future of Cobra Terror dome ... The paranoia wave
+Jakub Buszko I think I have that comic. I'll have to look it up.
HoodedCobraCommander788
In my last season the comics was cheaper than figures so also I was start looks for girls I was 14 ..
+J Klipp You rock!
Never had this toy. I was just reminded of why.
Hasbro liked having drivers in the prone position for their early vehicles, didn't they?
Neither me or any of my friends ever bought this vehicle we thought it was stupid
Es horrible feo y sin sentido.
Es ridícula es moto, es horrible y ridícula . no tiene sentido un moto donde vas tumbado con tres miniruedas delante y un cristalon horrible y feisimo.
