  • After years of fighting sun glare and salt build up on my fish finder, I searched the web for something that could combat both. I found a fish finder visor made by BerleyPro, specifically for my Lowrance Hook 7 Fish Finder.
In this video I give a review and show how to install it. This is the first of two videos, where I will take the visor out on the water in the second video and see if it lives up to the hype.
First pass, this visor looks and feels great and I believe it will do the trick.
The visor can be ordered at:

Never did the performance testing video? Does that mean this does not work as well as you had hoped?

Todd Ferrante , thanks for your comment. You are right, I haven’t done an on the water video yet, but I will. I can tell you I’ve been using the visor on several trips and it does help with the sun glare. However, only when I’m facing the sun. The rest of the time it’s just ok. It also makes accessing the buttons along the top a bit more challenging but it’s manageable. I like it and will continue to use it.
One big benefit is how it keeps water off the screen, especially going through the surf. Thanks for the reminder on the video.

Just tried to install the shield on my Lowrance Elite T2 . There is no way to attach it as described in the provided directions. It states that you must remove the front bezel held with 22 metric screws requiring a special T7 strar driver.

Ron Jackowski, thanks for watching and your question. I’m not familiar with your FF model but I remember when I installed it on my Lowrance 7 hdi, it was pretty simple and didn’t require much removal of anything. I’d reach out to breleypro for help. X I can tell you that I love the visor and it’s helped me protect the unit and see more when there’s a glare.

@@DADventurerNW Sorry for the erroneous post. Just discovered front corner bezel tabs that can be pried off allowing the screws to be inserted though the bezel without removal. Berleypro should provide better instructions and diagram showing the removal of the end corner caps.

@@anglerron I’m glad you were able to figure it out without having to do surgery on your FF! Let me know how you like the visor! Fore, it was well worth the $40. I also added a screen protector to my FF to protect it from getting scratched by my other gear.

@@DADventurerNW Not quite true. Took unit apart. Didn't boot up. Noticed a ribbon connector dislodged from the motherboard. Still trying to reconnect it without any clearance. BTW. I paid $65 on Amazon which is a bit overpriced for a piece of abs plastic. I just hope that I can get it properly assembled today.

Richard Brown . Yes I do. I asked my teenage daughter for help on how to figure out the amount of line I needed to let out at a 45 degree angle. She said, “that’s easy dad, the Pythagorean theorem. A squared plus B squared = C squared. So I made a chart to help with my line counter at various depths. Takes the guess work out for me.
