    I bought one as a wedding gift for my friend and added the other butterfly dusting brush/upholstery tool and a parquet floor tool for them to complete the package. Not only do they love it but they aren’t moving out on me. Gosh I’m the nicest landlord aside from being an awesome friend.

    There's a 25P model at a local thrift store for 25 bucks. My wife and I have a cleaning business, so we go through vacuums every so often. Doesn't matter how much we seem to spend on one either. Residential or commercial they all wear out. We prefer commercial because they usually have a larger width head so less passes. I'm going to go see if that Riccar its still there after the holiday! I'm guessing they just didn't know what it was and priced it low as some sort of no name brand or something haha. What is your favorite vacuum of all time?

    I’ve had mine since they released and mine hasn’t ever had that rattle. Though mine was a showroom model and so it’s very possible it did out of the box and the dealer fixed it before I bought it. I primarily use vintage vacs but just like you said, when I need something quick and easy, I find myself going to this vacuum quite a bit. Great video!!

      Yes I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this, but still on the hunt for an ultra premium vibrance! Or symmetry, but it’s not as pretty lol

    I really like that people have helpful passions. It makes it easier for people like me who like great products, but refuse to purchase 40 machines. This is purely helpful, when so few things are anymore

      I hope you checked the bag after to see how much more dirt the Riccar sucked up that the shark missed.

    I like it! I agree it does have some good features, yet it's a bit to heavy for me, however it does seem well built. Wonderful job!

    I saw a comparison with the 25d and the 25p. I guess the P is for pets but includes more then the D model. A great review and great to see the bottom of the device as well.

    You mentioned a weird brush roll noise. I noticed that with my Tandem Air, which also had a high frequency pitch to the motor. I sold it.

    I saw a video about the maker of this vacuum that the Riccar was made in the US where the Simplicity vacuum was made in China. It is a shame that both are made in China but of course most are unless you get one of the German made vacuums.

  • @LlyleHunter
    @LlyleHunter Рік тому +1

    It’s an extraordinarily designed vacuum. As you know Riccar has a butterfly type of dusting/upholstery tool as well as a standard upholstery tool with a slide on brush in their catalog offerings either of which would be a great improvement over the standard one.
    I think that the reason for the low speed is for vacuuming upholstery and curtains.

    • @JohnSmithNE3478
      @JohnSmithNE3478  Рік тому +1

      The low speed is only a brushroll speed, so I’m not certain it’s for upholstery

    Personally, I prefer the R20/S20 over the R25 line. Especially the Riccar 8000/Simplicity 7 Series, I like those vacuums better as well. I don't think the R25s' are all that bad of machines. But I think the biggest shame though from Tacony's part in my opinion was getting rid of their R20 line entirely. They should've kept them to give the consumers more options to choose out of from a dealer.

    Love riccar vacuums. Went and looked at them yesterday at the vacuum store. I think the next machine I'll get is going to be one of the supralights. I was actually looking at the build quality and I feel the entry level supralight is better than the pet version. The pet version had some dust leakage at the bottom connection Port where the handle connects to the motor of the vacuum. The basic supralight did not have that leakage problem. That's why I don't like the oreck vacuums because they all leaked dust before it even reaches the bag. I went in the oreck store once and every single upright on display had leakage before the bag. That's why I've never used that oreck Concor I have. Every time I used it my grandma would have a asthma attack and I realized it was because of that reason. Also on a side note I was wondering where you got your power nozzle kit for your filter queen. My power nozzle is already starting to be faulty and the vacuum store guy said there's no parts available and that filter Queen is going out of business and stopped making parts!

    • @JohnSmithNE3478
      @JohnSmithNE3478  2 роки тому

      I had a deluxe Supra lite, the mustard color before they discontinued it, though they just changed the color is all, I really enjoyed it! I’m desperately searching for a Riccar vibrance or a simplicity symmetry ultra premium with the 2-stage motor (NOT the tandem air vacuums). There are replacement parts on filter queens website and Amazon. I think the guy at the vacuum store was a little false, filterqueen just released a new color, a champagne model, so I don’t think they are going anywhere. I got the kit from good vac, and at the time It was available on Amazon as well!

      The entry level R10 is really outdated in its design and the way things seal up, from what I've found. The R10S & P are built much better in design and seal up better because of that.

    How does it do on hard floors? Does it grab the carpet like a vacuum?
    I am considering replacing my X4 Boost. I love it on our upstairs carpet, but not on hard floors and it only cleans really our downstairs carpet really well if boost mode is enabled. Upstairs carpet, it’s so/so.

    Currently have a Dyson because I think they're one of the best bagless/corded vacs, but was considering possibly picking up one of the R40P.8 and wondered if anyone here has one and how good they are? Also... not having touched a bag vacuum in decades... what would you say is the average amount of time between needing to change bags? Just trying to see what the cost would be having to buy bags.

I do like the removable roll, hight adjustable, suction control, the look is more appealing and modern.. Riccars long hose and light are what keeps me from just biting on the Sebo though. The Riccar 8850 and 8955 were the best vacuums they ever made. They both had 2 stage motors that were very quiet, and they clean better than any other Riccar. The Tandem air machines work just as well, but have too many motors and circuit boards which make them unreliable. I am very disappointed in what Riccar did. The Vibrance machines were more simple than these. I am not a fan of these R25 machines. Tacony has gone downhill period!!
