This is disgusting. I can't believe that people have to live like this in the 21st century. Thank you, vice, for bring attention to it.
Truly, you can't believe? Surely you must be joking. "21st century". So what? So because the year on the calendar rolled around we suddenly have become civilized as a species entirely? There is no greed, hate, apathy? Grow up. The world can be a terrible place, and there is no limit to the horrors mankind visits on itself.
Murphy82nd So brave.
***** Yes, apparently I am a complete idiot.
Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

this reporter is gorgeous.
The sad truth about the world we live in. People will always take advantage of one another to get ahead.
Her eyes.. She`s so pretty..
you watch a story about modern day slavery and that's what you see?
Lewis Sullivan Sorry man, I coudn`t concentrate on the story.. Its wrong..
Wow she's beautiful....and smart and compassionate.... damn lol
Can you post theese video`s on your channel, thier interesting stories, but aren`t available to watch on youtube
Ahh the Pakistan elite. I bet they're really 'good' muslims. Always helping each other out like a muslim should. Beautiful people.
But they probably claim to be muslim.
***** Well from my knownledge, which is probably very wrong, pretty much religious people in general are all about helping other humans. As you can see the elite are basically abusing other humans. I don't think that was allah's plan.
Rageeh Omar on the BBC did a Doc similar to this but goes in-depth and talks to some slave owners.
does anyone know the name of the song at the end of the orignal episode during the credits? its so haunting
I missed this episode yesterday where can i find it? she is the best vice reporter. her n the guy who looks like short Peter Parker.
If you have HBO is on HBO Go....
Yeah she's cute... we get it, seems to me like most of the commentators aren't really getting her message though, I see truly where some people's minds lie. Really? Instead of getting lost drooling over her, have some respect for the woman and listen to what she has to say and bring to light with this story.
I could give two shits whether you care about me or not. All I want is for her message not to be perverted by something so trivial as the reporter's beauty. I'm positive she'd want all this fervor directed towards the peoples she is trying to help, aren't they beautiful in their own right.
Is it disrespectful to think that she's pretty? How about assuming that people who are commenting are ONLY focusing on her, and not her story? That's kind of disrespectful too..
Bookstop1337 You're clearly trying to twist my words around, plus what you've failed to get that when I commented, this story had just been released and the majority of the comments were having to do with the woman's aesthetics which I thought I had to speak up about.
Good job
Don't stop, VICE! Keep catching these heroes and criminals on camera!
Hey Vice News channel, can you guys also cover blue collar from south east Asian contries in middle eastern oil rich countries, as I think those workers over there are treated not much with respect.
Brave Journalist and crew.
1. Give Pakistan better education that's not full of lies.
2. Give Pakistan time to change 10-15years
3. This wont exist.
Exactly, education is direly needed.
well im sure they could get a brick making machine and then all those people would be scooping sludge out of the sewer drains hoping to find gold...
great piece...and here I am complaining about my smart phone. Fucking spectrum of human existence am I right?
I know not a good point to ask this question but: what is this that she is wearing as necklace? And yes poor children and so on..
Am i really stupid if i say i don't really care about those people working in pakistan, i mean its their culture and it has been that way since there live people overthere.
So would have just had slavery continue in the west because it was part of our culture?
Probably not stupid but a sociopath unable to feel empathy. The wellbeing of a human doesn't change because you have a different culture.
Slavery was part of HUMAN culture for millennia. Can I just enslave you because its happened since the dawn of time?
They just work for food. Nothing bad. Starving is worse.
I wonder if her necklace says her name, a lot of Danish girls used to have that.
Hes quite the handsome journalist, indeed..
Is there ever something good happening in my home?...
why don't the pakistani govt or the city municipalities help them and buy them machinery so they can work less, and get higher output? like what china govt is doing to the villages (buying them machineries)... families will earn more income and children can go to school... oh i forget, pakistan govt take all the money and keep them in their own pockets
Thats not fixing the problem thats only helping the problem. If you buy them machinery then they will have people on machines and others doing it manually. What makes you think buying machines would help?
Marlon Fuller if they have machines, they can work less, but produce more, which means more income... once they get more income, their children can go to school to study.

Unfortunately the Pakistani Govt. is so massively corrupt that nothing like that will happen. People in charge are part of the "elite". And even more unfortunate with China doing what you say is a case of "communism" being better than "capitalism". In that sense that "we need to help the worker".
who says they will be paying them more if they produce more? Do you think people who drive these slaves care about them? No, they only care about their own profits. I dont think you understand the severity to which they are working these folk.
Eyebrows
People buy it because its cheap, its same in india
A beautiful Pakistani woman. That's new.

Thank you VICE! Your crew are amazing, very brave...and Ms. Aslam is not only highly intelligent and compelling in her dialogue, but I think I'm getting a crush on her! Sorry, I promise not to let that interfere with my impartiality toward your telling of the NEWS...Aloha
......huh!?.....oh sorry i didn't pay attention to what Fazeelat Aslam was saying through out the whole video. i was busy staring at her face and chest area. :)
Are these slave workers mostly non muslims?
serious issue, yet more than half the comments are about her looks. there are good looking woman everywhere.. ffs. google makes so much money, should hire moderators.
Very interesting episode, but I figured it's only the second video viewing. The first time I was mesmerized by the beauty of the Fazeelat eyes .Eyes deep as the Mariana Trench, and hair dark as night .
Dat girl has big eyes
Many NGOs do humanitarian work in Pakistan at the ground level. Eg. Jaish-e-Mohammad
