      I know....it happened to me. I was with this dude for 8 yrs had 3 kids living together and playing house. He put a ring on my finger after 5 yrs of being together only because I demanded it. 3 yrs later...no marriage and putting up with bullshit. I put his black ass out and a year and a half later...he's married and his wife made him come tell me. I was so hurt but handled it like a Woman. Being mature and letting them know that I was happy for them. He was totally shocked by my attitude toward it. Nobody sees me sweat..I'm so happy that I made the decision to leave. I got married a few yrs later. Had I wasted my time with him I would not have met my husband. DONT WASTE UR TIME LADIES.

    It will sting to those who don't want to hear the truth. Chloe is correct... again met my husband and was married in less than 2 years. Was married over 20 years until he died. He was about his business and provided for us in life and death. He's been gone for 6 years and I'm still being provided for. Our kids are grown and educated now and everytime I wrote a tuition check to pick up the slack from what the scholarship didn't provide. All I could say was thank you God and thank you baby.

    I heard of a woman who left her man after 10 years because he took too long to propose marriage to her. She shortly met another man who proposed marriage a short time into the relationship. A year later they had their first child. What a blessing to wake up and move on from an indecisive 🤷‍♀️ man

      @Forever Me In my opinion. She looked like a fool because Chrissy kept asking Jim to marry her. He wouldnt so basically shes begging him when he doesn't want to marry her. So when she proposed to him I believe that's what makes her look like a fool. Chrissy is absolutely beautiful maybe he will propose to her she clearly loves him.

    • @lkofie6670
      @lkofie6670 4 роки тому +8

      I think about that each time I see her with him now....WHAT was she thinking. As a matter of fact, if she felt she had to go to such lengths SHE should've had her wake up call that it was just time to move on.

    • @lkofie6670
      @lkofie6670 4 роки тому +4

      @Forever Me No it isn't...but traditionally, if you're going to be a pursued woman wooed and courted by a provider and man's man, what would I look like proposing to a man? I'd rather let HIM feel ready to marry me and be the one he desires to make me his wife and prepare to propose accordingly as oppose to me trying to move things along is the point. I'd want him to be in his role and WANT it to be so, hence a proposal. Chrissy's act of proposal was odd and foolish being that SHE KNEW he didn't want marriage and yet she proposed and in front of all their friends and family at a party for him where he stood pausing awkwardly before accepting, likely to save her from the embarrassment of again telling her that he wasn't ready. But hey nowadays people want to re-write status quo and step out side tradition to the point of making otherwise abnormal, nontraditional approach or things/situations deemed otherwise taboo into the norm.

Seeing marriage and commitment as wrong and not natural and realistic. That dysfunctional relationships of any kind brings "drama" and makes for a reality show life. And excitement. The number one cause of people getting strung along for YEARS in a relationship is hope. Denise White Goodness! You said what I have been wanting to say for a long time!! I have a friend with an under employed hubby of 20 years and she refuses to address the elephant in the room. She just keeps it pushing paying for vacations, paying all of the rent, and forcing him to pick up side hustles to help out with their kid. She tries to keep the dream up even after all of this time. Her mom did the same thing. Her dad was a “side hustle” king and never had a real job, but the mom took care of the family. I see that and keep my standards high. I made the mistake once because he had a good job then flipped the script. My new requirement includes a mental health evaluation, a 401k, and proof of longevity at a job or two. Proof of income and a good credit score is also a must! IJS 🤷🏿‍♀️

  • @SonjaElizabethTeal

    I see this all the time and for the life of me I never understood it. My grandfather and uncles used to tell us girls that it doesn't take a man all day to figure out if a woman is THE ONE. If he is stalling it is usually because he is just waiting to see what better comes along.

    • @lkofie6670
      @lkofie6670 4 роки тому +42

      Yup...MY HUSBAND said the same thing...coming from a man who initially thought he wasn't going to get married. He said point blank that a man knows immediately or at best within 6 months if he wants to make a woman his wife and certainly won't hold her more than five years as his "girlfriend". Hence another point he made is if he goes ahead and propose, the woman should get right on it and plan for her wedding (or however they will get married) because the moment she gets comfortable being what I refer to as a "forever fiance'" (still engaged by the 2 year and beyond point) so does he because in essence as he sees it, he has done his part by proposing...now it's up to her to get the formality of planning her wedding in order and just filling him in on the time, place, and cost. He said if anything, the couple just agree upon the wedding date but if she's waiting on him to get the ball rolling, she'll basically be doing just that....waiting.

    I'm 35, never married and no children. I would rather be left alone than be dragged with lip service. Men/people talk a good game, but with no actions. It sounds good, but I don't see anything. Men are WEIRD!!! I peeped the game first hand with my father. I can't even be mad at him bc the lady he was dating was doing the absolute most. Sad, they took international trips. She met the family and vice versa. What really stuck to me, my father stated that I never told her I wanted to get married or marry her. Damn, but they did all the things couples do. He dropped her after like 2 years, and he married another woman within 1 year. That was my WAKE UP call. A man will drop you like a bad habit when he finds the right one and marry QUICK. I call it back pocket people. They put you on hold and play house until the right one comes along. I'd rather be left alone until the right one is ready. It's not rocket science, it's simple . And she's lucky he didn't step on because let's be honest, Jim Jones is a legend. He could have done a hell of a lot better for a main chick (and probably is because he's has to be supplementing his lack luster hood wife with groupies.) Having standards only applies when you have options. If you don't have options, you can't have standards, which is exactly what this female found out. This is why successful black men don't date black females. As a result of a successful black man's increased options, they will adopt standards that black females can't meet, which is why I always chuckle when black females aspire to acquire a successful black man because him being successful will guarantee that he will not date you.

      Marie N that's the problem. It's very liberal to date and have been in long term relationships. But the most conservative thing to do is to get married and have a structured family of two parents with children. It's been glamorized and considered to be the new normal of not having to "settle down" or "settling". Lots of people see that the "paperwork" and that "piece of paper" is a "death sentence" Because it's harder to get out of something that is considered "a lifetime" But maybe it's just me?

    Any man that puts you in the "talking stage" for too long is a red flag. In your 20s(3months ) and 30's (30 days), I had a coworker(she's white, this is important bc women think only black men waste time) who was with her boyfriend(white)for 5yrs and every time she asked for a ring he would give her a dog(they have 3 dogs now). Till this day 10yrs later he still has not proposed bc marriage is "just a piece of paper". It hurts me to see any woman go through this but, leave him,even if you have to cry for a year. Chrissy is a cautionary tale.

It’s nearly too late for her as she’s almost 50. For any ladies 35+, the goal should be older men ... this way you’ll always be the younger & hotter wife. Looking forward to the new season with Chrissie as they were the pioneers. Guilty pleasure.

    I'm glad you said that this is a choice. I am tired of the self-victimisation complex women have when we complain of being strung along, having their best years stolen from them, saying their good deeds are never appreciated, etc etc. It takes two to play that game and hence it is not entirely the man's fault. The fault is in how we present ourselves. Having a high level of inner self-worth is fundamental when you are seeking a relationship of high quality, but I see time and time again that lot of women do not want to put in the work. They would rather glow up in front of a mirror when it's their soul in desperate need of the attention. Inner work requires discipline and effort. It is a daily commitment and requires your full attention. The looking good is the easy part. I've seen average looking Janes walk all over Instagram baddies when it comes to securing high calibre men and those Janes have those men thinking the sun shines out of their booty.
    I'm not hating on women who are in that phase of feeling walked over, many of us have experienced it, but you have to make a firm decision that you deserve more and importantly, WORK on being more. Change your friendship groups, read, travel, take on soul-nourishing and high quality activities, and start learning to say NO with conviction. When you do, these string-alongs won't even enter your playground and you won't end up on your knees grabbing at a man's ankles, because they'll be the ones grabbing onto yours.

      Cheryl Kemp it’s a double edge sword. Too many women who have not been married only focus on what they “may” receive. They need to keep in mind what they may loose. Men have been trading their wives in for centuries, they have also been killing them for that long as well. In Chrissy’s case it was more profitable for her to NOT marry Jim. She reaped the benefits and can freely leave without the dissolution of their finances. He pretty much set her up to level up. Imagine if she would have married him. He’s broke which means she would be broke. Just bc a man has money when you met him does not mean it will stay that way.

I also loved that you said in marriage you can enjoy being a stay at home mom, and femininity because I am enjoying that right now! I work at home, but I get to enjoy being with my son and not having to put him in daycare. I have a provider for a husband not perfect but he's better than what I kept settling for!

    Women need to start looking at marriage as a business contract rather than fairytale love story. Would a business man partner up with a unreliable person who breaks promises and agreements and shown that he cannot be trusted with simple things. Ladies let us be logical and see what the picture really is instead of what it can be in the future, you gain nothing , lose time and youth. I'm not saying you can't find love that can be done but be strategic.

I feel that he may not know this 😂😂 but I think that’s why she’s staying. A lot of rappers rarely marry. They just pay child support. Off set however has married her. In a divorce court she will get quite a lot of money depending on how long she stayed and the proof she has. Off set is worth 15 million. Cardi is only worth 8.

Truly didn’t hold high value over a hypergamous lifestyle in my 30’s, had no boundaries nor an objective in my relationships (and I use that term loosely, more so situationships with dusties). Am I mad on wasted youth? No, but admittedly disappointed, simply wish I was actually wise to the game and understood the real score. The men I interacted with certainly knew the game and surely snorted femininity and youth from my veins and went on their merry little way. I don’t know if you younger ladies are actively listening but I suggest you listen with level of ears of Dumbo!!!👂🏾🐘👂🏾. Last lesson learned in my late 40s... so many of us women had not had anyone teach us the game with men. So I was meant to find Chloe when I did, very late in life but never again will I waste time with a man who is not investing in me. But if I had a mom/dad who would have taught me any of this... sheesh. Feel like life could have been so different.

I'm not saying it can't work with a man with kids, if the woman doesn't have any, BUT it takes a VERY special man. Now if the woman also has a child or children that's different. I'm working on my young nieces now, telling them to come to Chloe channel and don't waste your precious youth. I'm happy to say, I got through to 1 niece who just turned 30, married an ER Dr (no kids) and pregnant with their first child, and is going to be a stay home mom, raise her daughter and make sure she teaches her that she is the Prize! I learned late, but better late than never.

      I forgot to add, just like Chloe said, my ex has since remarried a woman 10 years younger. His kids are now grown. She doesn't have to babysit, be placed 2nd in line to the kids needs and desires, have n no money, because of child support payments, etc. I remember years ago, it was my birthday weekend but it was his (our) weekend to keep the kids, and I asked him to switch weekends so we could celebrate my birthday and he said, no he didn't want to ask the kids mom because she had already made plans to spend time with her boyfriend. The honest to God truth, so instead we stayed home and watched tv with the children. I could go on with stories like this for days, cause I just want women to understand the importance of selecting an appropriate mate. I'm not bitter, just want to help some young girl now probably stressed out with a dusty,, being a ride or die check, thinking he will be there for her....DON'T do it, life is too short. Make your plans (quietly cause there are some crazy men out here, Keep yourself safe) and GET OUT!
