    same thing happened to me. was never allowed to go to friend's houses so i never got to go to any birthday parties but my sister goes outside to talk to her friends all the time

    The brother being able to go to sleepovers may be a gender discrimination aspect simply. Happened to many girls.

      I agree with the comment. But I had met the exception. I had a friend who has the same situation as this lovely young woman. And he was a guy. It was weird to hear him talk about it. I was talking about the same situation to him about it. He had a curfew and he was dating at the time too. I am not sure if it is secretly or not. I was not sure. And thing was he was from a family of all boys.
      I wasn't sure if he was lying or not as we were in a group at the time discussing how strict our parents were and he mentioned this. Which took me a second or two to process. Well, I think he said his parents relaxed after awhile he got older though. Maybe they were afraid he was going to impregnate someone. Who knows?🤷
