    Many years ago in the early 90s my dad decided to have the brilliant idea of bringing us camping here! Needless to say us being the pale Irish people we were straight off the boat so to speak, had no idea what we were doing! The whole trip was a disaster! Lightning and thunderstorms, food stolen by animals, and we got eaten alive by black flies 😮 My poor brothers blonde hair was red by the time the flys were finished with him! We always laugh at the story as adults now! Living back in Ireland now but have fond memories of our years in Canada trying to enjoy the great outdoors 😂 🌲 🏕️

    😅 Hi Jim,
    As long as I watch your videos I see that you are always out of breath, I have had that too (in the past) and when I changed doctors I found out that it was a slow thyroid, it can really take many years or even never to get to this to be diagnosed.

    God bless from the netherlands

    Small blades on the double for touring is definitely the way to go. Even in whitecaps and raging tidal waters I don't wish for bigger blades. Whitewater might be a different story. Small blades is like small tires - less "spun weight" is more efficient and faster but sometimes you need big meat eaters to get the power to the ground in a sticky situation.

    Hey Jim! Could you give more details on that H2O double blade paddle you have? My dad has been looking into that, but has been having a hard time finding something. Just went on a multi-day paddling trip with him and listened to the scraping of a regular length kayak paddle on the edge of the canoe with every stroke for the entire trip. 😂

    • @JimBairdAdventurer
      @JimBairdAdventurer  Місяць тому +1

      Haha, oh man. Ya, a double blade for a canoe needs to be a lot longer than one used in a kayak. H2O has the capacity to make them up to 270cm mine (which I used to solo my Nova Craft Prospector) is 100.5cm but if it was about 4 or 5 cms longer it would be better for me.
