He's gotta be the only guy who strikes abject fear into the hearts of other riders, their moms, and the track itself. Absolute legend.
Eli tomac is another one of those riders when hes clicking. Especially at datona. Its almost like he it doesn't matter where he is at off the gate after 20 minutes you know hes gonna be in the mix. Justin braytons daytona win is a prime example. Off his bike having to kick start it again putting him nearly a half lap down in dead last yet he managed to finish second.

Malcolm Smith is the only other person I can think of that was so effortlessly dominant in his era.
I randomly ran into Malcolm while woods riding in TX. Probably 2007 or 8. I was racing 30-35 year old expert class at the time. He was in his 70s (I guess) and could walk away from me in trees without ever "riding fast" at all. So smooth.
Ricky looks like he's back in shape. Wonder what he's got up his sleeve...

@@601braap2 That time has come and gone. RC undoubtedly has the skill to compete, but not having a gut isn't enough to keep up with riders in their physical prime like Webb and Tomac.
Nathan Bills dude that would be the greatest shit ever if he did come back. I doubt he win now tho to many years gone by. That kawi hit me with all kinds of feels when I idolized Ricky that was what he was riding and followed em ever since. Got to meet him when he was retired he was super cool about it even tho we weren’t supposed to be bugging him

I swear this dude would still be competitive at the top level. Maybe not winning, but certainly top 10's.
Talent is never enough. He could cut a fast lap but running a Moto or two is another matter. I would guess that the amount of work it takes in training to be competitive is not worth it any more for him. Plus, RC never was a ‘happy with a top ten’ kind of guy. He didn’t like winning, he just HATED losing. Long live the GOAT!
@@bighaasfly -Agreed. He's still pretty fit, but 30+2 is seriously grueling. He has nothing left to prove anyway, but it's still impressive how fast he can ride well over a decade after retirement.

Absolute unmistakable riding . What an absolute legend
I'll never forget the first time I saw RC race. It was at Hangtown. Dowd was still racing 125's, but there was this kid on a Kawi who was flat landing one of the jumps so far and so hard, I swear the ground shook. He didn't win that day, but you could tell he was a beast. I'd get a chuckle how every year they'd talk about the next guy who would dethrone RC, but every year RC would prove all of them wrong. I feel bad for guys who had to race against him. It's great to see him back in shape and riding.

They say the machining tolerances for the Japanese built bikes are more um...I guess the word precise or accurate or closer or some such. Actually there are only 2 chaps on the whole large Japanese isle of Kyushu that own the 2004 Japanese built KX125........and I am one of them..............(fingers in ears......nah na na nah nah...na na na na na na. That was very mature of me to scribe. hehe
That last whip right at the end made me nearly jump out of my seat!

Unfortunately he does the monster cup and I think there is a rule that makes it so he can’t compete on his own track design
My guess is he’s slimming down for redbull straight rhythm. But he’s a monster rider so it’s a guess

@@nigeldean1813 ya he isn’t the only one with input like in Daytona but he has the biggest influence on track design and was the one that added in the joker lane and the split starts

The GOAT would still be faster than most of the riders today. Don't get me wrong I like Tomac, Cianciarulo and many others.But this sport needs a return from some of the fastest riders in history maybe not every race but a limited or something for these guys who still have that hunger

Because he is the goat i would love to listen to what he have to say about the bike itself, the verdict of the green machine. When R.C speaks people will listen. Wonder if mitch & bones could give him a kawi factory two stroke, James left over parts is still around, Ryan and Eli have been using them. Now you have McGrath and Carmichael on Green, man i truly miss the good old late 90s and early 2000s, with all due respect to new generation riders. R.C and C.R , J.S - K.W and a select group were the best times of the sport in its prime ideal stage of motocross in a perfect sync of socialmedia and commercial energy drinks. I revisit my old race tapes / videos every night it gives me so much joy!

Gives me the chills seeing that. Anyone that races knows how difficult winning a single Moto is, even against amateurs. The local pros that win every weekend can hardly qualifying for a national on their home track. No other sport can match what we do.
