As a Wayne county resident. Down river born. I’ve eaten all the Detroit style pizzas here. And I’ve been to descendant in Toronto. It is super delicious. They have a mushroom pizza that will blow you away. It was the best Detroit style I’ve had.
I don't typically prefer Detroit style, but it has it's time and place and it can hit the spot real nice when you're in the right mood. It's just more thick than I normally like, but still pretty good.,

Being from Detroit and grew up on "Detroit style" I literally had zero idea I was eating a certain "style" of pizza, it was just good pizza. I was very familiar with NY style with having visited family out there plenty of times as a young boy but I never knew Detroit style was a thing until recently. We had a Jets Pizza around the corner from my house growing up and I've been to Buddy's a couple of times so I just thought that's how all pizza was. Really cool to see the whole Detroit style thing take off the last several years.
I was looking at all of your videos in Connecticut and I didn’t see Domenic and Pias pizza in Waterbury Ct. it’s amazing. They don’t deliver, mom and pop shop, family owned people love it. If you ever come this way
Shoulda been 8.4...he destroyed that piece (four chomps, and he left the corner - which is the best bit!!). Very, very, very good (3 x very). Descendant is awesome...looks heavy feels light, crunchy and rich, the edges are that crispy almost burnt parma, the sauce goes on top (uncooked sauce), the dough is thick and elastic, the bottom is almost fried (see 2:07). It doesn't get better than this. Clearly, Dave-o wasn't thinking straight as he had been up the night before 'till 3am playing hold 'em 9nudge, nudge, wink, wink).
I love detroit style.the crust is so buttery and crunchy. It's like a really good version of a pizza hut pan pizza (and pizza hut og pan pizza is my favorite fast food chain pizza)
Woowwww what a score for Detroit style! From someone in metro Detroit it's arguably one of the best styles of pizza! If you haven't tried it give it a go and I like it just like that , cheese only! Everybody knows the rules!
