This Coffee Episode was THE BEST One yet !!!!! WHAT a Journey, And I Just CANT thank you Both enough to document it all for us Fans !!!!!!!!!!! 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
My wife and I just took a 2-month car camping road trip with our 2008 Lexus GX470 to Canada and Alaska for the total of 19,000 miles. We went from Chicago to Maine then took a 3 1/2-hours ferry to Nova Scotia and another 7 hours ferry from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland and from Newfoundland we went on another ferry to Labrador. From Labrador we went to Quebec and from Quebec we drove all the way to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. From Alaska we also went on Dempster Highway to Tuktoyaktuk, NT, Canda.
I rode up to Dawson City on my motorcycle in July 2024 from South Dakota. I stayed there three days at the Hotel and did the sour toe drink. I was going to go up to Tuk but the ferry was down for 8 days. I decided to head back home. I'm going back up in June 2025 but taking my Jeep Rubicon to hopefully hit the Artic Ocean this time.
Fantastic trip. I won't be able to do this trip myself, but you can't believe how much I enjoyed doing the trip with you via computer screen. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Travelled with you both right from the beginning to the end.
Glad you guys enjoyed it. Yukon is a gem for sure. I lived there for14 years and it was so fun. Whitehorse isn't the nicest place lol. But I was there for the wilderness.
Have really enjoyed watching you guys from day 1 till now. I was just smiling 😊 all the way felt like I was in the trip with you guys. I love adventure and it's now official I need to do this. Thanks so much for this.
Brad, I have been following your channel for several years, Sean only for a year or so. Your trip was absolutely amazing, and you both have inspired me do drive to the Arctic Circle next summer, it was never a bucket list thing but after watching both your videos it's now on my bucket list, thanks guys
i made it to tuk for the summer solstice this year. it was 2°C, overcast, and blustery. from just north of toronto in a stock 3rd gen 4Runner with a 3" lift. i did the same as you, solo with the dog. it's not like asking someone to go camping for the long weekend. 15,600km for us.
There is a company called Stryker that has a product called Sage Essential Bath (and other variations). Much better than a regular baby wipe. These are the wipes that many hospitals use for the modern "sponge bath". Has Vitamin E and Aloe, can be heated. I discovered them after a week long stay in the ICU and immediately bought them for my camping kit when I got home.
I really enjoyed this series. We are taking our RV to Alaska next year and going up to the Arctic Ocean is being discussed. Definitely thinking about adding an auxiliary fuel tank to my truck. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
Did the Tuktoyaktuk trip in February, that was an adventure. One day I would like to do the same trip in late summer or early fall. Loved following your adventures and wonderful footages. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your adventure. Kept waiting for next video while you were out. I like that you planned zero days to stop and regroup and appreciate the trip. Great tips.
Awesome trip guys. You're making me push to the next step in doing it. You guys gotta do it in September when the tundra colours are bursting!! That's the only major miss in my opinion that you've missed out on. That's my plan.
I did SF to TUK round trip solo in '22 and had a transformative experience. I also did LA to Homer - Denali-Fairbanks 3 times in a Datsun 310 Hatchback '82,'83,'84. It like a virus - once in your blood it won't stop the itch.
I just read through all of the comments to make sure I wouldn't repeat anyone. We have a trip to Yellowknife planned for this fall, but our big bucket list trip we have planned for next year is a 5 week trip to Newfoundland. We are planning on roughly 8000 miles round trip from eastern Washington.
Patagonia! - Ship vehicles from SD to Chili and start from there. If you have more time, Drop vehicles ??? anywhere between Colombia and Chili - WooHoo, That's at the top of my list
17:04 I quite enjoyed the SourToe Cocktail. The Yukon Gold Jack was very tasty and the thought of the toe wasn't bad. I figured that 110,000+ people before me couldn't be wrong and I needed the certificate to go beside my honorary Newfoundland Screech certificate. I can honestly say that driving my 2006 Jeep LJ from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic to the Arctic oceans (and dipping the front tires in each one) will be the best memory I have - till I make more
Thanks for this review of the trip costs and preparations, this trip is on my bucket list. Been following you both for years, you guys do a great job of sharing your adventures.
Good to see you guys hit this destination. Great timing, as I’m planning to do this next month (departing from just outside Toronto in my 4Runner). Also happy to hear the cost of fuel is much less than budgeted for up north (I had budgeting $3-5 a litre).
You should come to Michigan. The upper peninsula is an incredible place as well as the sleeping bear dunes in the lower peninsula. My yard is open for camping by the SleepingBear dunes. You’re welcome here anytime. What a great adventure the Alaska trip was thank you for sharing.
We made our second trip to Alaska last year. Our first trip, in 2017, we drove the Dalton Highway all the way to Deadhorse! This time I wanted to do the Dempster, which we did towing a travel trailer. Dust, dust everywhere! But, unlike your experience, the second half of the Dempster, in the Northwest Territories ,was much smoother that the Yukon section. I remember one section near 7 Mile Hill in the Yukon I had to go about 5mph because it was so rough!
So at the end you asked where else you should go. I’m planning a trip to L’Anse aux Meadows in Labrador/Newfoundland. Probably the wrong coast for you but Vikings!!! Maybe compromise and go to Churchill in Canada. Polar Bears!
Hey bro, I been using a portable battery with my fridge and an inverter for about a year. You can charge power everything you want with the portable battery and have the battery connected to the inverter and I’ll just power everything without any issues.
I'm with you guys in not racing to the end, I feel like the journey is at least as important if not more so than the destination. I try to keep it under 6 hours driving each day when possible. I might do that trip next year, will have to see what happens between now and then, I prefer going to Tuktoyaktuk over Prudhoe Bay although there are places in Alaska I really want to visit like Chicken Alaska I would probably do that on the way back down. I live a little ways outside Seattle so it's not as far as San Diego(where I grew up) so hopefully my gas cost won't be over $3K by then.
It was 29 days and 11,000+ miles for us from Virginia, but we detoured to Denali on the way back down. I don't know about you guys, but I'm not really sure how to top that trip.
Brad you will never regret this in your life, only now you have to take your Wife to see it ! I hunted North of the Brooks Range for Caribou so I have driven the haul road. I want to drive this from Iowa and funny thing is before I saw this video after. I Googled Mapped it and it said 3607 miles. Brad on MPG I did not hear what range would you need not to carry a can of gas ? And what was your MPG ? I plan on taking my 4Runner TRD Pro ! Shower Brad you have been with us Marine’s no shower no problem ! Awesome trip Men TC & GB
Moab is amazing! Give yourself plenty of time, there are lots of trails to explore, great camping all around and be sure to stop by Milt's for a burger and shake.
Shaun explores all over Canada, he's got lots of video of places to visit. For me, it's a big commitment to get up there, so I'm going to go for as long as I can.... Alaska will be another big trip, but we'll highlight some great places to check out for you all!
Dang 3 grand for gas. I thought driving from dallas to west yellowstone montana and back was bad enough gas cost wise in my wrangler rubi 😅 I think I spent $600 or so lol
Best trip to Alaska ever! 🥸
LOL! We need t-shirts.... "We didn't travel to Alaska" !
@@TrailRecon “I went to Tuk, and all I got was this Alaska T-shirt”
That's what we are wearing on our trip next year!
@@TheStoryTillNow NEXT TRIP: Vancouver to the Island, Victoria to Port Hardy: to Bella Coola then Circumnavigate BC/AB back to Vancouver
@@TrailReconbut that's where you should go next
Thank you both for documenting your amazing trek!
We enjoyed filming the adventure and so thankful you enjoyed it!
This Coffee Episode was THE BEST One yet !!!!! WHAT a Journey, And I Just CANT thank you Both enough to document it all for us Fans !!!!!!!!!!! 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
My wife and I will be doing our own Arctic/Alaska trip in 2026. It'll be a year long adventure for us.

If you want a suggestion for a REALLY long trip: Kenai peninsula in Alaska. Absolutely unbeatable.

I was going to go up to Tuk but the ferry was down for 8 days. I decided to head back home. I'm going back up in June 2025 but taking my Jeep Rubicon to hopefully hit the Artic Ocean this time.
I'm actually thinking of this becoming a life goal. Awesome.
Don’t listen to the haters we love this content! Don’t stop!
This series was fantastic!!! All of it!!! Great job guys!!!
So proud of both of you for accomplishing such a trip... Fany scenery!!!!! Hope you both accomplish another journey!!!!
This recap was very helpful! Awesome job from both channels in documenting this adventure!
Fantastic trip. I won't be able to do this trip myself, but you can't believe how much I enjoyed doing the trip with you via computer screen. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Travelled with you both right from the beginning to the end.
My favorite Tuk trip video series along with Chad from Living The Van Life that he did solo in winter.
Probably 1 of the better videos you all too do really good on trips it's nice to see different perspectives about the places you go
Thanks for taking us along!
I think Alaska is by far one of the most epic state to explore in. Everything I see about Alaska is just so beautiful!
We just skirted the board of Alaska on this trip, but next time I think we make find our way deep into the Alaskan backcountry.
Glad you guys enjoyed it. Yukon is a gem for sure. I lived there for14 years and it was so fun. Whitehorse isn't the nicest place lol. But I was there for the wilderness.
No question!! I want to go!!! ❤
Have really enjoyed watching you guys from day 1 till now.

Awesome video as always Bard and Shaun. The next time y’all do this trip again y’all should drive it in the winter time.
Brad it was a beautiful bucket list trip. I loved the whole series. Man what a great adventure. 3700 miles added too Doc, Brilliant!
What a wild drive. It's awesome that you made your dream happen.
Go do the Australian trip that 4wd just do. It’s up your skill type level if you can get your rigs there
I think you guys should grab Marko and hit the Baja together. Great story from both of you guys!
Yes an marco, can cook
decades ago I hit a porcupine up in Colorado in the middle of the night. The thing was huge... So I hear you. What a fun trip you guys had !
i made it to tuk for the summer solstice this year. it was 2°C, overcast, and blustery. from just north of toronto in a stock 3rd gen 4Runner with a 3" lift.

15,600km for us.
Do you have an on-line story for your trip? From on Ontario too.
Really was hoping you would do a recap. For the nights when a meal was too much trouble, a freeze dried MOUNTAIN HOUSE . Really enjoyed this trip

I’m going to do this trip with my wife at some point. After watching your guy’s videos, I’ve already planned it out ✌️😁
For me this was a very encouraging trip . Thank you I’m going to get out more. Thank you.
Patagonia! - Ship vehicles from SD to Chili and start from there. If you have more time, Drop vehicles ??? anywhere between Colombia and Chili - WooHoo, That's at the top of my list
Great that you took time to enjoy the travel. I did a 5k run in Australia 4 years ago, and felt rushed because I didn't plan it right.
Awesome overview, thank you for it, especially the total fuel expenditure!
Thank you both great trip great follow video Don't know if I'll ever get to do that trip but I appreciate getting to see it through your lens.
Thank you guys for an amazing adventure

Great trip and inspirational!
All your videos are beautiful as usual
Really enjoyed your adventures. But what radio did you use for communication? Interesting to see your modifications. Thanks Marc.
Good times!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Shaun has a serious Russel Crowe vibe going.

Gorda-by-the-Sea off Hwy 1 on the California central coast had $9.99 gas last time I was there.
How about a few words on Inuvialuit culture? Tuk has some fascinating cultural/historical aspects which I hope you saw.
How about the Trans-Canada Trail for a next bucket list trip ?
Amazing journey!
How did the disposal of garbage go on your trip? Was it easy to find places to dump stuff off responsibly?
Just come back from Arctic Ocean to 😂From Moreno Valley
those gas prices are about the same as some of these stations here in los angeles
Love getting inspiration from you both! Any advice for a first time overlanding trip to Moab Utah?
Moab is amazing! Give yourself plenty of time, there are lots of trails to explore, great camping all around and be sure to stop by Milt's for a burger and shake.
@@TrailReconwill do! Thanks for the food recommendation!
Is there anything you would have changed to have a better rig setup?
Is your gladiator diesel?
Do you and Sean discuss when you will be releasing your videos about the same trip and agree on a schedule?
You guys do any fishing
It would be great to see trips to Canada/Alaska that are shorter distances from the US border and concentrate on epic sites to visit.
Shaun explores all over Canada, he's got lots of video of places to visit. For me, it's a big commitment to get up there, so I'm going to go for as long as I can.... Alaska will be another big trip, but we'll highlight some great places to check out for you all!
How about a Central America trip guys?
Nunavut,no videos on any trip there 👍🍺
Question, did you air down on the Dempster?
yes, about 25 psi
Looks like there was tons of good eating on that trip
We tried to cook up some good meals, but next time we hope to catch more fish to fry up!
What radio's did you use?
Dang 3 grand for gas. I thought driving from dallas to west yellowstone montana and back was bad enough gas cost wise in my wrangler rubi 😅 I think I spent $600 or so lol
I'll be venturing out to my back yard and crank on my lawn mower. 😢
South America Next all the way to Argentina
👍
Did u get to see Jasper I hope so devastating wildfire hit the town still news coming out devastating
