It's a pain I wouldn't wish on anyone. I lost a daughter 4-1/2 years ago. I live in the USA and feel my daughter is cheering me on to start a Search and Recovery Dive Group to help loved ones who have gone missing with their cars. My daughter was in her car, but not in water. If you've never heard of these groups, search Samantha Hopper and Courtney Holt. Mother and daughter were missing 23 years when their car was found in water.

I saw this when it first came out, and commented on how I bawled when Terry was talking about losing his 1 week old son...I could see something deeply determined in his face during that rescue, and I'm pretty sure he was thinking about how her parents are going to feel if he doesn't save her. I lost one of my teenage twin sons Sept 1, 2021 and know the heartache of a loss that could not be expected or imagined, with no fault of yours or theirs.
Now this came up in the lineup, and we've lost Terry just 5 months after this video posted. The segment with Terry made me bawl again this afternoon. I told my spirit son when Terry transitioned last week, to find that lifeguard and tell him how much he and his mates helped his mom...me... get through this last year without him on earth, and please tell Terry thank you, from me. I'm sure he already has, and more than likely has thanked him for himself, for helping keep me from losing it completely on this journey no parent wants to take. Our loved ones who have transitioned into spirit again don't want us to stay sad forever, and that is what keeps me going. I hope that keeps Mrs. Terry too. I cannot imagine losing your newborn, and then later your husband.
If any of the lifeguards happen to read this, let Terry's wife know I've been sending Love and Light her way, please. To all of you, in fact. Please tell them if any of you read this.

There's even fewer people in most countries that use sign language than those who speak French, realistically almost nobody is ever going to be in a situation to use it, so just like French nobody will remember it. I don’t want to judge or anything. But the CPR tempo was way too slow for the last one. The guy was doing the compressions two times slower than the regular speed.

    • @nurssey

Oh yes. Not gonna lie - I was yelling at them to start chest compressions - then he did them too slow. Regardless, they are not trained medical professionals. Rather, they are professionals of their own rite who did everything they could in that moment, and they saved this man’s life. Thank you, lifeguards!

It's a miracle if you survive after having CPR done to you. It's only a 5% change to live, usually you're so gone that even resus doesn't help anymore.

Honestly, it depends on what caused the heart to stop, the quality of the CPR, how fast CPR was started and getting an AED quickly. In a perfect environment your odds are actually a lot better than people expect, but not everyone is so fortunate. He was so incredibly lucky though because he could have been in the water minutes before anybody noticed. Also by the 3rd shock it becomes slim. Although they will continue shocking until either they get a pulse or EMS comes.

The fact that I couldn't follow my older brother into deeper water to play catch with him, because I couldn't swim and hated those floaties, made me beg him to teach me. And he did. So I learned how to swim when I was six, on holiday in Egypt, in a hotel pool.

everything about the deaf sisters and her deaf grandmother is crazy. I never thought about deaf people swimming, not being able to shout to them and warn them. And then the grandmother, imagine you are trying to tell someone to help you in such a specific situation. And then the girl actually speaking. I know that some deaf people can speak but that was really weird and really good. Understandable in a way thats natural without truly pronouncing the words correctly. Fascinating and im glad they got rescued

I mean, I'm not an expert, I'll admit that, but the chest compressions on Taka seem really shallow and not nearly enough. All the other CPR videos I've ever watched, and all the times I've had to attend classes, recommend much faster, and at least 2 inches deep. It should be rib cracking, not what looks like a gentle massage.
