Personally, I thought it was very funny. I like seeing how Timon and Pumbaa met and seeing what they were doing while each moment from the original was happening. It also has one of the funniest endings to any Disney movie ever. This and Simba's Pride are good sequels, but they don't live up to the original.
I’m sorry to say this. But the lion king 2’s a little more better than the original and the lion king 1 1/2. I still like the lion king 1 1/2, but the lion king 2 lives up to the next chapter of the story. Meanwhile 1 1/2 retells the first movie in Timon and Pumbaa’s perspective. It’s still a good movie though
The Lion King = Hamlet (Protag's uncle assassinated his king father to take the throne) The Lion King 2 = Romeo and Juliet (Forbidden lovers from rival families) The Lion King 1 1/2= Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (The events of Hamlet as told by 2 background characters who indirectly influenced major events in the plot)
In the end, unorthodox as they were, Timon and Pumbaa did *well* in raising Simba. They are the literal spanner in the works for Scar’s plan. If they hadn’t found Simba, he’d he dead.
I love this movie, it’s hilarious and a nice retelling of the first movie but also touch a bit on how Timon and Pumbaa raised Simba. It also deals with Timon’s less nice traits that aren’t really dealt with in the first movie
yes I agree, and I couldn't say it better! Well, with the movie we were able to learn more about Timon and why he was like that: well, he had gotten fed up with digging and hiding from predators without enjoying his life and sometimes was a little self absorbed or selfish, but in the end he did know worried about his friends, and even when together with Pumbaa, they raised Simba, it was they what did well, doing everything they could for him, and I love that scene of parenthood
This Lion King sequel with Timon and Pumbaa side of things was honestly one of my favorites as a young kid. I fondly remember watching this squeal a good number of times because Timon & Pumbaa was always my main favorites from the Lion King, I even watched the Timon & Pumbaa old Disney cartoon show from the 2000s that I still remember to this day. But yeah it nice to see this movie again because its been a long time since I saw it. Great that your seeing something from my childhood that I've haven't thought about in a real while now.
I love The Lion King 1 1/2 because I enjoyed learning about Timon and Pumbaa 's story of how they met! It has funny scenes and Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella are always a great duo. Loved your reaction Timothee!
I always call it The Lion King 1 1/2 because it is basically the first movie, but half of it is Timon and Pumbaas' story. This is one of my favorite Disney direct-to-video sequels because Timon and Pumbaa are my favorite Disney duos/comic reliefs ever, the animation is really good and the writers did a good job at adding them in each musical part/important plot point in the The Lion King. Also its an amusing idea to imply that they were there the whole time! Its very rewatchable for me. Timon and Pumbaa even had their own cartoon show, Timon and Pumbaa, which has funny, Looney Tunes-esque comedy.
The funniest part is when Timon and Pumbaa try to stop Simba and Nala. It ends up bad. Me and Pumbaa was like on the spider scene, we were both saying, “that’s so romantic”. At the same time. We sounded like a double duo saying that exact sentence but in a cute way. It was so funny. I watched it before any of my family got a chance to watch it
When I saw the first trailer of this movie, I thought we’d get a backstory of Mufasa and Scar in their younger days, prior to the first film. I do like this direction of Timon and Pumbaa’s origin story, it is pretty good, but I still felt like we were robbed of what might’ve been with a “before the beginning” scenario of TLK.
I know it's been 3 months since this comment, but if I remember correctly there's a planned movie "Mufasa", that I think is supposed to be a prequel. I haven't verified that though, so you might want to do your own research.
@@circuitgamer7759 Yes, I’m aware of the recently announced Mufasa film from 2022’s D23 event and I was surprised by the news. Even though I prefer that it would be a 2D animated film than photorealistic, I’m still interested in seeing what the film will be like.
This movie retconned one of the episodes from the Timon and Pumba series. Or maybe they took inspirations from that Timon origin story from the Timon and Pumba series and decided to expand the core ideas, include the Lion King film but with Timon and Pumba's version of events.
That one was funny. Pumbaa was so stunned, I was stunned and laughed. But most likely stunned. I was like, “what the heck, Timon? She’s a hyena. You’re a meerkat. Besides, you’re prey. And shenzi’s a carnivore”
8:37 - 9:02 that scene kills me with laughter when Pumbba gets gas 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 and that's the reason why Timón used that technique to make the lionesses flee in the sequel to the movie the lion king 2
This is my favorite one out of the series. I was pregnant with my youngest son and would watch it everyday with his older brother. It holds a special place in my heart.
As a child, I loved this sequel, not only for laughter and humor, but also how great Timon and Pumbaa's story is within the main story and how much they really contribute: and Timon became one of my favs characters, he is also a hero, who also traveled his journey: it's sad that at first he was rejected by his tribe and that's why he decided to leave in search of the place of his dreams.. I also love how the time they raised Simba was, reminding us that they were like their adoptive parents, they were not only friends but also family.. I laughed and was very moved jaja with this scene.. 20:43, 20:46 It really broke my heart how selfish Timon was being to stay in his paradise, plus his callback claiming: "and what happened with the friends stick together until the end?" but I'm glad for the lesson he learned that: even though he had everything in that paradise without worries, in reality "Hakuna Matata was nothing without friendship" 9:43. 19:02, 19:31 I couldn't stop laughing when the pyramid of animals fell because of Timon who hit the base to make them shut up, and also like him and Pumbaa trying to sabotage the romance, they ended up bringing Simba and Nala closer jajaja 23:37, 24:21 I really appreciate that moment they gave Timon who bravely made his way to stop the hyenas breaking the last beam of the tunnel, he is also a HERO..In addition to that moving hug that Simba gives to Timon and Pumbaa, thanking them for their help, because without them it would not have been possible, yes, they are the best example of true friendship..It is most satisfying that they also got their happy ending, with Timon together with his friends Pumba and Simba, and also becoming admired by his tribe of meerkats by taking them to that paradise of great life. What makes its ending better is the amazing crossover with various Disney characters also reunited to see the movie again, oh of course yes
I think 'Look beyond what you see' means more looking around you and not just focusing on the bad parts, not going further than what you see in front of you geographically speaking.
I loved this movie, even though Lion King is all around better, 1 1/2 is more rewatchable for me. I'd pop this in more frequently than either the first or second one. My favorite line is "I'm gonna get old walking across this bridge." It's the first thing I think of when anyone mentions this movie
This is the funniest Disney movie I have seen. Timon and Pumbaa always come with laugh. 🤣🤣🤣 Actually, I love all of The Lion King movies. They have outstanding stories and terrific songs. 🦁👑🧡
The Lion King 1½ (Aka The Lion King 3 - Hakuna Matata) Is By Far one of the Comedic Genius direct to Video Movie that i always Loved it, I love the Back Story of Timon and also how he met Pumbaa also the Scenes from the Original Movie and how Simba Grew up in the Hakuna Matata. Also the Fourth Wall Breaks so Hilarious and Cameos of Disney Characters in the Ending
Dude when i was a kod watching i literally can't stop watching it i would watch it over and over again this was my favorite when i was a kid and i still like it good times
You skipped over a couple HILARIOUS moments. 1st: was Max saying “You think?” He’s wearing a DRESS!” And 2nd was Timone making the hilarious joke: “Hey Pumbaa, what do you call a hyena with half a brain?” “Gifted!” And Ed laughing at that, before being hit by Bonzai who said “They’re talking about us!” And then Shenzi walked closer to them and glared up at them and said “For your last meal, you’re gonna eat those words.” Great scenes
@@a.g.demada5263Timone said a hyena with half a brain is gifted. Meaning, they’re lucky to even have that. He’s saying the majority of hyenas are brainless
i watched this movie yesterday, so, thank you Timothee for making a video reaction of it today, it's a very nostalgic movie from my childhood (as well as the original movie , and its sequel, that is) happy wednesday and i hope i see you soon for more. take care.
Love this reaction so much. Timon is very funny character of all of characters, I watched that movie as child and never realized until now. Thank you so much a have a nice day.❤❤❤❤❤
Lion king 1/2 was great, and I like the part when Timon says"Look beyond what you see", and thank you Tim for a reaction to this movie it was very cool
The Title “The Lion King 1 1/2” makes more sense than you think. It’s basically The Lion King 1 and a whole half before it instead of what most people thinks it means “taking place after The Lion King 1 but before The Lion King 2”. Now if we view this in the same way with “The Lion King 3” Title, than it doesn’t make sense (it doesn’t even take place after The Lion King 2) just called that as The 3rd Lion King Movie that came out. So in my opinion, The Title “The Lion King 1 1/2” makes more sense than The Title “The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata”
Personally I loved all of them so, I didn’t have anything bad to say about I love the direction they went with this. Breaking the fourth wall. Getting to see Timon and bumba side. It was funny to me.
I remember there was the who wants to be a millionaire game with timon and pumbaa and Meredith vierra and there was the african safari rollercoaster ride and the dig a tunnel music video
The lion king 1 1/2 tells us Timon's story of the lion king before he met Pumbaa and Simba when Simba's father died Simba didn't really have anywhere else to go but Timon and Pumbaa found him and become friends
26:18 House of Mouse (the tv show) kind of did the cross-over of all cross overs. For those of you who don't know, it's a cartoon show set in Toon Town in a club run by Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Max, and Pluto (though Pete owns the building and is always trying to shut them down), each night they get live acts and also cartoon reels, and everyone is allowed in, heroes and villains alike. They got James Woods to come back and voice Hades since he enjoyed the role so much.
This was actually my first Lion King movie (and first movie on CD i ever saw and owned) so even as infant i believed it's one and only real story. For me it's more canon than original xD
This would've been better but there's one small detail that ruined it for me, is the fact the in this POV, Timon knows who Rafiki is but in the first Lion King film, he has no idea who he is, he even asked "Who's the monkey?"
RIP jerry stiller who did the voice of uncle max(1927-2020)😢 and I love the lion king 1 1/2🦁👑🐗❤😊❤ i rewatch it soo many times on dvd when I was younger/a kid and it's a underrated and an Amazing/a fantastic and a funny disney animated movie🎬🎥👌 and fun fact: julie kavner who did the voice of timon,s mother she also did the voice of marge simpsons in the simpsons and tim I have a couple of animated movies that you need to check out the jungle book peter pan dumbo tangled frozen frozen 2 bambi snowwhite and the seven dwarfs cinderella Pocahontas the little mermaid wreck it Ralph Ralph breaks the internet and the cars movies check it out👀👀 please!!🎬🎥❤😊👍 and tim have a good day and enjoy the rest of the week💪☀️😎🤙love from the netherlands❤🇳🇱❤
Simba had to be like a few months old at the start of lion king. Or like Cub Simba. And Like Timon and Pumbaa Wale up the next day and They hear “I just can’t wait to be king.” 14:01 Actually It does make sense that Rafiki would Tell Timon and Pumbaa “Hakuna Matata” One of the most Iconic phrases. 14:54 Was That Marge Simpson? 15:07 True. 15:11 Same. I would pay money to see a Disney character end game.
Merit Leighton should have a new show called Lucinda the little witch along with Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa John Kani as Rafiki John Oliver as Zazu Wallace Shawn as Uncle Max Emma Thompson as Timon’s mom Tracey Ullman as Marla Florence Kasumba as Shenzi Keegan Michael key as Kamari and Eric Andre as Azizi
I really enjoyed sit when I was a kid. It’s been confirmed by Disney that it’s non-cannon and it was only to get Timon and Pumbaa more recognition due to the underrated tv show that lasted for a few seasons.
I was confused as heck when it said the lion king 3. I was like when did they come out with a 3? Then realized its actually Lion king 1 and a half. Which is one I even requested so hopefully you love it.
While I don't like this movie at all, it does have a few of my fav Disney scenes- the "Drink Off" when Simba's a teen and the very ending when all of the extra Disney chars show up.
17:28 Next question re 'Sunrise Sunset', should we have 'Fiddler on the Roof' next? We need more musicals - plus if you've seen the animated movie of 'Anastasia' it's interesting to go to movies like 'Fiddler' afterwards, along with 'Nicholas and Alexandria' and 'Doctor Zhivago'.
I've seen things like that on youtube. I feel bad for Timon he couldn't fit in and other lemers were rude except Timon's mother she's a sweet mother to him. Now Timon even defected thise hyenas too
Instead of showing those Lion King title after Timon says we're going to go way back to before the beginning instead of saying liking one and a half it says Lion King 3 and this is what Timon says. Wait wait hold on a second what's with the three no no no no no the three has got to go. Pumba: but Timon you can't use two there's already been a two. Tumon: you got to point their big fella it's not a sequel anyway. Pumba: yeah more like behind the sequel. Timon: a little who who? Pumba: oh you know an betweenquel Timon: pumbaa my moon it's genius and he uses the three eyes to make a one and a half. Timon: there now this title is a knockout. In the screen says a Walt Disney picture event coming soon to video and DVD it was also a straight to video sequel. However just as it said on all new motion picture event coming soon the word slapped moan right in the face on screen and then the trailer ends with his last line. Timon: no not literally. He said that telling the audience that this was a joke it was not meant to be an actual movie but Cinema disagreed him put his embarrassment in public which made Timon disappointed that his story became known however it is a funny trailer because he didn't mean to make it a movie and that was the joke in this movie is full of jokes. My point in sharing this dialogue with you was the fact that pumba called it and an betweenquel that's what they call this it's not a sequel It's not a prequel it's kind of like the original it's in between. It's turning something old into something new so call it what you will but that's what they call it. an inbetweenquel

Who else was shocked when all these Disney characters appeared at the end of the movie? I sure was when I first saw it
12:15 - Hidden Mickey to the right of the waterfall, near the bush.
It was the 3 we know, Shenzi, Bonzai, and Ed
5:50 YES! Shout out to all "Tim's" out there! Lol ✌
10:32, 22:38 The Storyline of the original seems to have been completely reworked…..….
We can guess he pretended he doesn't know him
As a kid, I only had the Bonus Disc
Rest in peace Robert Guillaume
Merit Leighton should have a new show called Lucinda the little witch along with Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa John Kani as Rafiki John Oliver as Zazu Wallace Shawn as Uncle Max Emma Thompson as Timon’s mom Tracey Ullman as Marla Florence Kasumba as Shenzi Keegan Michael key as Kamari and Eric Andre as Azizi
The hyenas were banished to the Outlands
26:44, a self-parody riff of The Lion King
This is the best part for me because it is the most funny part. And all the plot about me 😂
I really enjoyed sit when I was a kid. It’s been confirmed by Disney that it’s non-cannon and it was only to get Timon and Pumbaa more recognition due to the underrated tv show that lasted for a few seasons.
It's canon to me. It's basically the second best comedic meta Disney film behind The Emperor's New Groove.
This is the lion king movie I grew up the most
I was confused as heck when it said the lion king 3. I was like when did they come out with a 3? Then realized its actually Lion king 1 and a half. Which is one I even requested so hopefully you love it.
It’s called both titles. I guess people got confused by it
@@TimotheeReacts it must be like the Sorcerer's stone, philosopher's stone thing. Because I had only ever seen it as 1 and a half
It's called Lion King 3 in some countries since it was released after Lion King 2.
It's been long time I saw Lion king 3
I think this is my 2nd time
Rest in peace Jerry Stiller
Who is him ? (I'm french so I don't know the original voice actors)
My favorite straight to DVD Disney movie hands down
This was way higher quality than it had any right to be
Honestly watched this so many times as a kid. Diggah tunnah slaps
Ah yes… it’s that time of year again to get Dig A Tunnel stuck in my head for weeks
The lion Guard is also In between lion king 1 and 2.
God bless you all 🙏❤️
While I don't like this movie at all, it does have a few of my fav Disney scenes- the "Drink Off" when Simba's a teen and the very ending when all of the extra Disney chars show up.
The ending in lion king half is my favorite especially that every Disney character come 😂😂😂
Timothée, Bonjour! Je souhaite que vous soyez heureux toujours. C’est trop mignon et aussi indispensable ♥️
If you enjoyed this you will really enjoy the lion guard its a spin off series about Simba's son
This one was mostly all Timon and Pumbaa.
This movie has better animation than 2 but the story is not as good as 1 and 2 but is a fun movie
I've seen things like that on youtube.
I feel bad for Timon he couldn't fit in and other lemers were rude except Timon's mother she's a sweet mother to him.
Now Timon even defected thise hyenas too
my favourite of the three
What other Nathan Lane movies should we get on this channel?
What Not A Lot Of People Realize Is That Hakuna Matata Is A Real Swahili Phrase!
Hey! Thanks for reacting to this!
Timon and Pumbaa are the ORIGINAL video reactors.
2:50, yes. It’s Julie Kavner who played Marge Simpson
17:44, it’s from Fiddler on the Roof
I've got Disney's The Lion King 1 1/2 (2004) on DVD. 🙂
Pumba: oh you know an betweenquel
Timon: pumbaa my moon it's genius
and he uses the three eyes to make a one and a half.
This is the movie equivalent of a crack fic and I love it
