Childlike Faith (With Greg Laurie)

- One of Jesus’ most famous statements is this: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3 NIV). What exactly does this mean?
To understand this, we need to look at the context in which Jesus is teaching. He had just interrupted the disciples’ argument about who would be the greatest in God’s kingdom when He made this statement. And in order to drive it home, Jesus had a little child stand up in their midst.
According to Luke’s version of this story, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it” (Luke 18:17 NIV). That is a fascinating statement. Conventional wisdom would say that to know God, a child should become like an adult. But according to Jesus, an adult must become as a child. The child is the model, not the adult.
Jesus’ point was that we need to have childlike faith. This does not mean we need to be childish, of course. It means we should be childlike. There’s a difference.
To be childlike means to approach the things of God with a humility and a trust and a faith that is simple and pure.

Jesus saved me , I would have died without him. I was in a gas explosion ten years ago. I had 18% of my body burned, on a vent . Your organs shut down when that much of your body is burned. I also had a TBI and coma. Jesus talked to me. He told me it is not my time. Then I woke up from coma. I just got better from that point on!
Praise God for healing!

I'm not sure.. but I went to a restaurant to pick up a meal for my wife who has severe food allergies after work one day. I was starving, but because of financial problem I didn't get anything and was going to fix something fast for me and my son when I got home. I got her food and a bag of appetizer bread that she can't eat. So I was thinking I'm going to eat all this bread on my way home. But as I was pulling on to a busy street I saw a middle eastern lady holding a sign with a child in a stroller. I didn't read the sign because it happened so fast but I had an overwhelming thought to give her my bag of bread. And when I did, the amount of appreciation in this women's face brought me to tears. I believe this was an angel.
This was so awesome to see and listen to!! I truly appreciate the way that you talk about our lord Jesus. There was a time that I felt like a lost sheep and that the good lord sent out his Sheppard to bring me back into flock and that Sheppard was Jesus Chirst!!! Thank you Greg Laurie for sermon this one was truly awesome and it described in such a beautiful way how I was feeling perfectly. I heard one time that humility is going to your knees willingly and humiliation is being driven to your knees.
I had never seen the child parts as new Christian's too. My husband has been saved for just a few months this part really hit me. I've never heard a message like this one. Great reminder for me. Thank you

Super glad you pointed out Hebrews 1:14. It helped answer a question I had. I think I knew it once but forgot. I'd tried to take in the Bible more deeply more frequently but it hurts sometimes because of some filthy spiritual abuse at the hands of some nasty pastors over the years took an emotional toll. Now I fight feeling that they are still watching me and the passages I google for offensive weaponry l. Twisted stuff.
To say thanks, I'd like share abit about me reaching out to understand the angels around me. At first, I might have almost tried to pray to them but caught myself. No thanks I choose life. Now I've prayerfully opened up to using my strongest spiritual gift to hear from them. They do want to help on every level. One of mine seems particularly bent on nudging me to be more proper at home from hair, clothing, and posture. I think it's another that is helping me with healthy foods and supplement choices, purchase choices..etc. **came back to add that the proper one cracks me up because Jesus doesn't require so much along the line of sanctification. I think it is just that angel's personal peeve know it is for my betterment.
I have to be especially relaxed and open to "receive" these nudges. I don't mind if you don't believe me. It might scare people away from tracking me. Less pressure, yay! Trying to be a blessing anyway! All the best.
Or the lost one sheep 🐑 that God was looking for until he found and he’s never give up then I think, that lost sheep is “Me” astray sheep ~ He found me back. And I will never run away from him again!!🙏❤️🩹

Did you notice that heaven is used twice in the verse that says:
for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
Isn't that a redundancy? If you consider that we are flesh and spirit, it would be expected that as we grow older, our spirits grow with us. And as we grow older, our flesh tempts us to sin. As Christ mentioned when He and His disciples were at Gethsemane and He was going off to pray:
Matt 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
A little child may still be innocent from sin, with their 'spiritual eyes' still able to see some things in heaven - like the face of God. This may be what Jesus meant; that in the spirit, they still see God. It may be He was not talking about a guardian angel in the passage above, He simply substituted the term spirit with the more endearing term angel.
With their spirit looking at God, and their flesh interacting with a parent, is it any wonder why they are so trusting? Who knows, but it is something to consider....
Any social group like religion that requires adults to have the reasoning skills of a child is suspect at best and should not be followed.
It means to never think for yourself and always believe everything your Pastor tells you, which is a big mistake.

You not understand faith or humble or meek, it 3 different meanings.
Angels are neither male nor female. They ha e no need for gender assignments.
However, in the Hebrew system of LANGUAGE and in their God given system of belief and language, there are three "paths": the central mystical path, then either side the 'masculine' path or pillar of force/action, and the 'feminine' path/pillar of form/passivity. However, the masculinity, and femininity are more akin to whe in French or German where we say die/Der, or le/la. Grammar.
Interestingly, in far eastern belief systems, the path of force is seen as feminine, and form is seen as masculine. Neither are right or wrong. Especially once this is understood.
So is an angel a man? No. This would be RIDICULOUS. They have absolutely no need for such assignment. And in fact, the central column of mysticism is seen as both masc/fem, and neither.
This should come as no surprise since the "one like the son of man" in Rev of John says God is neither male nor female, who has every title on heaven and earth written on his garment, but whose name no man has understood.
Incidentally we are all IGNORANT of our own language.
Especially as English speakers. In English 'man' is the name of our species. A mature female is a 'wif'.
Or wifman (eventually this became 'woman'), and a male adult a 'wer' (hence werewolf, etc).
But 'man' was always a GENDERLESS word as it means all of us as a species.
Strangely a word for a degraded, or harlot woman was kwin, kuin, kuine, which somehow upgraded to become queen. Weird huh?
Yet, So many stories about yourself? Even though the world doesn’t revolve about you? So much confusion?? Poor Jesus, clearly your life has been far more exciting than His.
That's not true. When I saw my dad standing before the angels and the 2 large golden clocks he was in a suit and there were 2 FEMALE angels standing there smiling at him...they were huge. It was cloudy yet clear. I woke that morning, called my mom which was in Ohio and I was in southern CA and told her what I had seen. I had described the suit my dad was wearing, it was the same suit my mom had just bought for his burial. That was Oct. 23, 1989, flew home that day...we buried him 2 months to the day. So yes, there ARE female angels. Sorry...
I would respectfully argue that we cannot use our personal dreams to discern biblical truth. There are plenty of Mormons and other religious people who have had dreams etc….that contradict the Bible and we discern the falsehood of their dreams by comparing them with the Word of God. I’m sorry for your loss.
