I feel like in KH,Aqua is the one that suffered the most; She lost her friends,her master,her keyblade,got stuck in literal hell(realm of darkness)for 10 YEARS and she's pretty much alone the entire time she was stuck there Damn,Aqua's life is nothing but *pain*
And despite all she wen through, she persevered which makes her the best female character in the entire series. In all honesty, I wish she was the main character of the series instead of Sora

Aqua has alot of depth and unlike Kairi, she isn't a damsel in distress and she's the one doing the protecting and making the sacrifices. It's a shame her story in BBS is a tragic tale but then again that's part of what makes her story good. It shows that the hero or heroine doesn't always get a happy ending.
I would not have imagined Aqua's theme to be so melancholy. There was definitely struggle in her life but still. I can also hear traces of Xion's theme in it.
aqua has the worst fate in the game, and even in the whole series(up there with poor beloved xion, and even roxas), she sacrifices everything for her friends(terra and ventus for some which don't know), and even stuck in the realm of darkness for at least 10 years(i think it's 12 by kh2, and you can see she is there this long because of DIZ and the heartless, which the heartless did not exist untill KH1). i personally felt terrible for her fate, and this game was in my opinion the best so far(best tragic story)
At least Aqua is alive and conscious unlike many others though. Still, do you really think a character's theme song should only be about his/her fate? Because there's A LOT more than to a character than just fate.

Honestly, she just spends the entire time following after them and cleaning up after all of their problems. She spends less time as a Keyblade Master and more time as a babysitter. The Remakings Yeah the amount of stuff she had to go through was insane. I probably would have broken down near the start of her journey. To go through that much and still stand tall, she has to be the strongest character out of them all.

Hands down my favorite character ever, grew up looking up to her and loving her personality, her theme song is so sad feels like a weight of sadness is coming down on you yet it’s light and gracious.
The opening piano pattern is very reminiscent of Roxas’ theme. I wonder if that’s a coincidence or not. Such wonderful music that Yoko Shimomura made for these games.

When did she beat him exactly? In radiant garden by the end of the fight she was in her limit when Vanitas was just fine,he was clearly playing around with her there. In the neverland she fell unconscious after the fight.The only time she won was in the end and still she needed to summom Ven' and Terra's power to do it ( at least to what i know it was this what happened in the end of her story)

Don't forget about the Lingering Will. It's looking for Riku. It mistakes Sora for Riku when you meet it in KHII Final Mix. Maybe there's a slim chance that they can somehow use the Lingering Will as a guardian as well.
I always thought everyone else had some kind of inner conflict besides Aqua. Ventus having to deal with Vanitas and the X-Blade and his heart, Terra dealing with Xehanort who was trying to steal his body. Then there was Aqua, she was just kind of there until I fought Terranort and I realized her inner conflict was trying to stay by her friends side no matter how lost in darkness they were. Aqua is and always will be one of my favorite Kingdom Hearts characters.
I could never get enough drama with Aqua's music. I'm so emotional when a girl becomes a hero when she has deliberately proclaim as the keyblade master, hence I cry a lot at the part when she encountered Ansom the Wise in the Realm of Darkness. What would Willa say about this?

i actually belive that Aqua is the main character in BBS. sure, terra became the orgin of Xeanorth's body, and Ventus were the key to make the ultimate weapon. but what about aqua? she couldn't save them, she just had to stand and watch as her two best friends got hurt, she were as much a victim as the rest, she always chose the light side, she always supported her friends, even when they had done something terrible and she is what square enix wants people to become
Her name's great. He attitude is great. She only fell into the darkness to save her friend. Her outfit is practically my favorite colors all over. She's epic and awesome. She's kind. And that's just 0.01% of the reasons why she's my favorite.
That kinda makes sense though. Kairi got the ability to wield the keyblade from aqua, so she likely got some characteristics from aqua as a result, like the connection between sora and ventus. Xion is a reflection of kairi in sora's eyes, so the intent is probably to show that similarity from sora's perspective musically. I'm probably reading into it waaay too much, but think about it. Roxas and Ventus have practically the same theme due to Ventus being in sora's heart, but Ventus has a more mellow theme to match his personality, and Roxas has a more sorrowful one to show how much he hurts from all the things that have happened to him. Nomura would probably think of something that crazy.

iirc terra's theme comes 1 minute in, then aqua's at around 2 minutes. like i said, can't seem to spot where ventus's comes in, though i'm sure you'll find similarities if you compare fate and his theme yourself. :p
That may have more actual grounding than you think. If you notice, Ven's theme sounds alot like Sora's, and look at his relationship to Sora and Roxas. Aqua had a similar relationship to Kairi by passing on the ability to use a keyblade to her.
maybe Aqua is like the female Sora as far as main characters go. Aqua is the main character of the past. Sora is the main character of the present and maybe their destined to team up in the future. I think that makes a lot of sense.

I hate that Sora had to save her. I mean, she's a Keyblade Master, I'm sure Nomura could've whipped up some plot armor to make her an even better hero than Sora himself. Same with Kairi after the DLC came out.

Im figuring in the next game, the group will contact aqua and they will try to make ven conscience for the final fight, other then that possibility the 7th wielder of light is a mystery.

Yeah but Terra beat him too with only his Armor. So it's like beating himself except added with Xehanort's powers in a younger body with Terra's own darkness and powers so Terra did great too. He even had the strength to use some of his light to try to hold him at bay when Terranort was fighting Aqua, trying to resist control so Aqua could end him. Not what she wanted so told Terra to fight it and then you know what Xehanort did with his Keyblade afterwards. I won't spoil anymore haha. =]

Lore-wise, Roxas steal it from Ventus ... and Vanitas is the shadow of Sora, Roxas, and Ventus, so Vanitas' theme is just theme of those three stuffed together, so yeah of course ... But Aqua, no idea ...

fate of the unknown's meant to be a combination of ventus, aqua and terra's themes i think. can't seem to spot ventus's one in fate of the unknown though :/

iirc terra's theme comes 1 minute in, then aqua's at around 2 minutes. like i said, can't seem to spot where ventus's comes in, though i'm sure you'll find similarities if you compare fate and his theme yourself. :p

If where going by a non extended version of fate of the unknown then Terra's theme is at 0:57, Aqua's at 1:58. I don't hear Ventus's theme though.

Yep. Terra succumbs to darkness, Aqua gets lost in the Realm of Darkness, and Ventus is without a heart inside Castle Oblivion.
That may have more actual grounding than you think. If you notice, Ven's theme sounds alot like Sora's, and look at his relationship to Sora and Roxas. Aqua had a similar relationship to Kairi by passing on the ability to use a keyblade to her.
Kairi's theme feels like a more upbeat derivative of this, especially the piano background

maybe Aqua is like the female Sora as far as main characters go. Aqua is the main character of the past. Sora is the main character of the present and maybe their destined to team up in the future. I think that makes a lot of sense.

Looking through the comments, I noticed that some of you seem to be struggling on identifying the members of the 3 trios, unless I’m miataken. (trio names NOT mine, I saw them on a piece of fanart online):

And as for the class (Strength, Speed, and Magic) of each of them belobg to:

i don't think xion was a mage and i think kairi will just use her strength (from what we've seen in the trailers and those two seconds in kh 2 )

I hate that Sora had to save her. I mean, she's a Keyblade Master, I'm sure Nomura could've whipped up some plot armor to make her an even better hero than Sora himself. Same with Kairi after the DLC came out.

It is: Sora, Riku, Kairi, Mickey, Aqua, Lea, And most likely Ven because he is the only one alive that can wield a keyblade. Im figuring in the next game, the group will contact aqua and they will try to make ven conscience for the final fight, other then that possibility the 7th wielder of light is a mystery.

Um... there's still another game you realize? Terra is replaced by Lea, but the rest are accurate. Sora, Riku, Kairi, Ven, Aqua, and Lea. Next game is going to include fetching Aqua from the World of Darkness and having her go fetch Ven (and probably wake him up) in Castle Oblivion.

Yeah but Terra beat him too with only his Armor. So it's like beating himself except added with Xehanort's powers in a younger body with Terra's own darkness and powers so Terra did great too. He even had the strength to use some of his light to try to hold him at bay when Terranort was fighting Aqua, trying to resist control so Aqua could end him. Not what she wanted so told Terra to fight it and then you know what Xehanort did with his Keyblade afterwards. I won't spoil anymore haha. =]

Why is it everyone in BBS (Aqua, Ventus, Vanitas) all stole parts of Roxas' theme? It kinda irks me. But, eh. I still love Aqua.

and Vanitas is the shadow of Sora, Roxas, and Ventus, so Vanitas' theme is just theme of those three stuffed together, so yeah of course ...

Look at what Snusmafian is saying as a whole. Don't just snap out one part of the post, neglecting the point. Aqua did all those things. Sure, Ventus could have chosen the Light side (though he wanted to destroy himself towards the End) and Terra also supported his friends too.
