I think this is Shane's best drum performance so far.
:D :D :D
I spent a few hours last night researching and watching videos about the PSTX line, you guys uploaded this video at the PERFECT time! I love all your demos!
Wow, meant to be and thank you!
Came for the cymbals but that snare is beautiful
I absolutely LOVE my PST-Xs. I've got hats, and 16" and 17" crashes. The hats almost create a reverse gate effect when opened and closed quickly. Such cool sounds for reasonable prices. Great video, Shane!
Nice video! The PST-X line is -in my honest opinion- the best choice for anyone who wants to have good FX cymbals for a good price. Definitely no need to spend 350-430 on A- or K EFX cymbals if the PST-X can do the job for you. Just like the PST7 line. Sure, you hear some differences compared to the 2002, but for the price.. they are truly bang for the buck.
Oh man, that ride sounds absolutely beautiful.
I didn't expect to like this video. Thanks for proving me wrong! And I really enjoyed Shane's playing.
They are unexpectedly amazing!
Thanks for doing this video. I never would had considered this line of cymbals otherwise and I'm a Paiste fanboy. I just assumed that since they looked like Swiss cheese that they would sound like trash can lids and them being Paiste, they'd be really expensive. I was pleasantly surprised. I bought the DJ45 12" crash (which I use as a splash) from you all a couple weeks ago thanks to this video.
I thought the high hats and larger crash cymbals were just great! You guys never fail to amaze and educate this old guy.
It's the Cajun for me. Straight eargasm
same, that thing is bad af. Never knew that existed until this vid. but man o man sounds was insane
Lets go 💯🥁 DCP is amazing! Love everything I have ever purchased!
You're consistently the bright spot of our comments section. Thanks, Al!
@@adamfrost3722
Wow I appreciate that truly! The customer service is unparalleled. Y’all the best! 🥁
Thanks so much Al!!
Paiste got it right! I think the PST (beginner) line sounds better than most other brands top end cymbals. The sound of Bonham, Parcarro, and Copeland to name a few. Same B8 alloy..Amazing
Copeland plays Signatures. Signatures are made from B15 alloy.
@@JanusJanavas But 99% of anything that most people have heard him do was played on 2002s and RUDEs.
That snare is the winner for me.
Those are the best! Great demo, guys! :)
Thanks so much and yeah, they are killer!
Got to be honnest, add to watch to time to hear the cymbals, ad to much fun watching Shane pounding on those Mapex, really expressing hi self. Can believe how good that kit sounds. As usual great video, thanks. Got 3 PSTX on my kit, great cymbals.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've bought a second hand "Alpha" Swiss Thin Crash 18", and I think the early Series (2011) sounds distinctly better,
as the Pstx Series. More trashy, more cut, and more beautiful. But I absolutely appreciate and love your comparison
of drummers gear. Great job, as always, thank you very, very much !!!
Nice footwork.
Great video. I'd love to see more effects cymbal videos. The more the better!
Paiste are to cymbals what Ludwigs are to drums. Simply the best. And as always, nobody gets a better tone out of their snares than you guys!
This Kit sounds awesome. Love the pst7's I own. Looking to add pstx cymbals to my Mapex Crossover Kit
Saturn and Paiste is what I play. Those hats are fun for sure.
I'm diggint the Cajon crash and the pure bell. And the prices are fantastic.
That cajon crash is killer!
Yep, put my order in, great video…love the Cajun, & the 16 thin, and the 14” flange stack. Now I have to wait for fedex…Cheers
Awesome, yeah these are KILLER!
the snare tho 🥶
Sweet
I started with the 14 Flanger Stack. Love it. Then I added 16 and 18 Thin Crash, 18 Medium Crash and 14 HiHat. I want them all! 😁
nice
I've thought about adding a Paiste PST-X or two to my kit for some time, and this is convincing me that I need to do it ASAP.
Thank you for the video. I'm not married to Zildjian, but would love to see a similar video for Zildjian effect cymbals, or perhaps a more encompassing, top 10 special effects cymbals, across different manufacturers. Thank you for your continued dedication to producing top notch equipment demonstrations.
God that Mapex kit sounds incredible. It kinda reminds me tama starclassic bubingas in terms of attack and low end.
Fell pretty hard in love with that cajon crash - just ordered it!
How do you like it? I’m using one as my main left side crash and really dig it.
@@ampdrum1 I like it a lot! I've got Zildjian K Custom Session 16 and 18 inch crashes either side of it, but I probably use this more 😂
Awesome playing.
12" and 18" are my favorites
I use the 10 inch PSTX hi hats as a stack. Works great with my other stacks
I've got the PSTX 18" Swiss Thin Crash and absolutely love it. It's trashy, it cuts, it's maybe the tiniest bit grating, but somehow in just the right way. And of course it looks awesome. It's replaced my K China-which I still love-because why play a $300+ cymbal when you have a $150 cymbal you like just as much (or maybe even a bit more)?
Paiste PSTX Swiss Thin Crash 16’’ and hi-hat are interesting
yeah im definitely thinking about how to use those, especially that Swiss crash. Really want a stack too
I want those 602 hats so bad.
Im liking that 16 cajon. I’ve got a 10 splash, 12DJ crash, 18thin, and 20med. I’m thinking that 16 cajon fits my setup better than the 20med. Thank you for the demo
I use the Pstx 18 crashes as chinas, they work fantastic for those dry accents.
😎👍💗🇨🇭🔥🎼🔊)) PAISTE!!!
Nice. Sweet sound. Not sure yet.
I love that PST Pure Bell, I wonder if it can be made using the Signature alloy and in different sizes?
They sound great but hard to keep up under a microphone, except the 20''. Gotta love my Wuhan Linear's!
so this may be a dumb question but what is the difference between the swiss cymbals and the low volume cymbals? love the sound by the way.
I like the ride.
Wanted to add some color / variety to my studio kit & chose the PSTX 10/8” stacks. Was pleasantly surprised how much fun one can have to explore options that can change one’s playing & sounds? Shane was on his groove displaying all these effects cymbals. Thank you Shane for making all my years of drum playing fun!!
I have 16" thin crash and 18" medium pst x.
Hi there fellas, can I ask if the batter heads are single or double ply?
The batter heads on the toms are 2ply clear Remo Emperors.
@@drumcenternh thank you
Too bad they don't make the regular Swiss hi-hat in 12". Not really a fan of the DJ's 45 cymbals.
Also, the best Swiss crash was the custom Twenty series version. I was always iffy about the Alpha version, same with PST-X, but I loved the Twenty, and would gladly pay more for it over the PST-X.
The DJ set is designed to be modular. You can order the cymbals individually, so if you want the full trash of a swiss set, you could get the DJ HH top and the DJ Crash.
They are bad
-_-
I love how bad they are!
@@ayoungethan bad crap liked by craped persons 😆😆😆😆😆😆
Why do paiste cymbals have to be so ugly
they do it specifically to annoy you. that's the whole point of the PST X line. it's in their engineering notes. "Annoy Joe O'Neill."
I agree. I much prefer the look of Sabian fingerprint magnet cymbals.
I've been drumming for less thane yrs, and I managed to crack a Zildjian 16" A custom EFX.
Now I need something different that's not as thin.
These are awesome, I should have just that 20 pstx instead of a crash and a china, kinda sits in nice between both, and simplify my setup.
The thing that I like about the 18" medium crash pstx is its a crash and a china. That's 1 less stand and cymbal in my bag/ on my back!
So great to hear all the PSTX's together! Great job Shane!
That snare sounds awesome
