Thank you for sharing, Tina. 👍 Homesteading is fun but it's also hard. I think for many UA-cam homesteaders, they are afraid to share the darker sides because they think they'll lose some of their authority on the subject. Most of us have days/weeks/months like you've experienced but when you watch homesteading online, the pros appear to have no problems at all. I have more respect for somebody like you who is willing to share your hardships and admit that you don't have an easy solution to every problem. It makes you more relatable, likeable and trustworthy.
Please do not stop making videos. UA-cam is especially hard for homesteaders, as our "free time" is spent maintaining a homestead until the sun goes down, and often after that so time for making video is limited. Family and Homestead always come first, but don't slow down on videos only due to some hardships. I think you'd be doing the community a service by continuing to share what can and will go wrong. It's all relatable and people still want to watch, even if you aren't "perfect". Our prayers go out to you that brighter days are ahead. You deserve and it will come. Hang in there.

Be careful with yarrow. It takes over everything and the roots go a foot deep. If it goes to flower it's too late to get rid of it. I had my yard re-sodded and it still came back.

It’s best to control yarrow like garlic…but it’s an absolute essential to have on a self sustaining homestead…I tell my wife, I can’t eat my lawn…but my “yard”, will feed me.

Keep it goin!!! The life your living, is today viewed as a “fun” lifestyle but our ancestors…it was just…life. We got soft, lazy, complacent, dependent, and a whole bunch of others words our ancestors would be ashamed of. Farm animals are food, not pets. We can get attached to them…that’s normal, but they are food…they are a tool…no different than any food we get at the store, except we cut out the middle man…that’s us! That’s YOU, and the life you are living. It’s a great life and yes, there are challenges…but it’s a great life. I don’t watch Justin…but I’ve heard of him. Farm life, homesteading…it’s nothing new. It is to us because as a nation, we’ve let technology and corporate America…dumb us down and make us unsustainable on our own. You’re taking it back! Having a firearm near close at hand, is essential to our way of life. Not locked up in a safe or ammo stored separate and in another room…teach the kids weapon safety and establish the rules for their use. That’s the way America was when we were America!! Thrilled to see you taking it back!! Very proud of all you’ve done there…encouraged!
Oh, if that craftsman power saw is your go to saw…time to upgrade! Chain was way too loose…you should have something that is at minimum, 50cc with a 20” bar. But that’s off topic! Head up, chin out, shoulders back…you are an American! You are a self sustaining independent American! Outstanding!! You are in control! Don’t give that back! 👊🏻🇺🇸

Thanks for all your kind comments. We stepped back from the channel for a bit and I am coming back and finally replying. Your comments are so insightful and kind. Since stepping back, we've been learning new skills, especially surrounding firearms. 😉 We stocked the pantry and the freezers and are so thankful because grocery prices are totally bonkers. You're right, a bigger chainsaw is a must. The chain always gets loose on ours. 🙄 We're learning lots and will be bringing out more videos again soon.
