Very nice build. I like the jig you built to maintain the post plumb while you poured and cured the cement. The solar lights on the posts is an excellent upgrade and the wire cables certainly will out last cloth lines. And the plant hangers add the perfect set up for giving a boring and generally installed eyesore clothes line, a decorative tough of charm and beauty! My wife has been begging for a clothes line and I just found the perfect one!! Thanks for sharing!!

I am so sorry to hear about your pb stash. We’ve only made small quantities of nut butter in the food processor by accident. 😬 We try to buy several brands of our favourite canned goods so that if there is a recall, the whole stash isn’t trash. Although these days, that is getting more difficult to do, unfortunately.
I had to build another one as the first one, although cemented and braced bowed terribly. Now I’m ready to connect wire and the post still(new ones, 3 ft deep, are springy closer to hook and 45 degree angle braces. I’m staying with it regardless. Maybe metal posts would have been stronger. Every clothesline my hubby built in past(5 kids size) always turned out perfect. FRUSTRATED in Pennsylvania 🤷🏼♀️

How do you think using the 30-inch long spiked post holders, which you pound into the ground and then attach the 4x4 post, would work rather than concreting the posts in? I have used them for a 30 ft long trellis, an animal pen, and the pergola over my patio...without any bending or swaying whatsoever. I am wondering, however, if the weight of the clothes would eventually cause a problem...?

My childhood home had a clothesline door so you could hang/unhang inside if it rained. In fact, most houses on our street did. I really miss it!
That is neat. I’ve never seen one of those. We have a few racks for indoor drying, but they aren’t great for sheets or larger items.

I noticed it's been a year since you posted this. How have they held up?
Absolutely. We occasionally have to tighten the lines.
How long is the hole in the ground?
The auger was 1m long or just over 3 ft.
