How incredibly difficult to remain grounded with such monumental pressure and influence. I admire Mr. Jack Dorsey’s commitment to responsibility, self improvement and mindfulness, emotional resonance in forcing himself to be and do things he is uncomfortable with or difficult, but preserving through while being kind to his self while growing. I also appreciate his accountability for mistakes, and correcting them mindfully without just trying to find a quick fix. I too am going through my own self journey (obviously no comparable responsibility economically-just a nobody, humble human here), meditation, mindfulness, equanimity and how I can serve others. I hope more join in acceptance of others, individuality, differences, and being mindful to not cause harm to others. I believe we all are connected and can truly overcome our failings, progress and turn our thoughts, actions and habits into an amazing world that is kind to all life.

As a meditator, I realize that his experience is so different than mine. I see the shared arrogance of Silicon Valley in that Twitter making decisions for town square voices. Twitter is WAY TOO INVASIVE and needs to back off being an app cop. “Safety” is the most abused word in English right now.

We can be cuddly and cute all we want and sure there is a place for that, but there is a darker side of his job which is massively important to any conversation about "life and spirituality". A little tough to listen to his monotone voice but very interesting. At about 52 minutes in, he starts talking about policing and disciplining the users as if this is one large classroom (which it is - but really?) and somehow everyone would magically mind their manners and be good boys and girls. Teachers have enough trouble with 30 students so it would be very interesting to see if he can pull off that sort of omnipotent change.

Would you mind taking a moment to analyze this scenario?
Say you see 10,000 people conversing, watching, talking, dancing, taking pictures, eating... you fill me. Probably you've visited places like this: big cities, big malls, etc.
You don't see people in these places caring -other thank thinking about it- about what the other people are doing or saying, right? You don't. Barely. Perhaps a couple of teenagers not minding their own business.
Where does the *toxicness* come into play?
Suppose you watch a couple and hear them talk about the Celtics losing the game, and bla bla bla. Would you interrupt and join the conversation? You could. They also could ghost you and go away. Would you criticize a dancer in the streets to his/her face? Would you mock a musician playing an instrument at the mall? *There are dozens of thing you wouldn't do/say in the flesh that you definitely would online*.
But there are people who'd do the same positive thing online and in person.
So, who is toxic? Twitter or the people?
Do you know how many toxic things are there in the Bible? Would you call it toxic because of it?
Spending too much time on Twitter is as bad as spending too much time in almost anything. That doesn't mean there aren't good things about Twitter. For starters, it employs thousands of people. It benefits thousands of businesses; and it's so powerful, that a single twit can start a war, or end one.
Do not overuse Twitter, or any social media, for that matter. Block toxic people that troll, and people that engage in propaganda. But most importantly, never follow people whose purpose online is to create misinformation.

Expand, increase your profits. Nothing wrong with that, we live in a capitalist society. Let's just stop calling it disruption, breaking things, socially conscious and all that other nonsense. I'll go check out a good self help book at the library to brush up on my self care and solitude.

Not a fan of twitter, never used it, still can't see why it's useful tbh. I think because of celebrities using it and smartphone/mobile apps becoming commonplace it blew up, but generally-speaking if people cared less about what others had to say and focused on their own goals and dreams, there would be less attention on social media. After all it's just a thought factory.
Nevertheless, Jack Dorsey seems like a genuinely good fellow. He seems to have the emotional IQ and intuitive capacity to be at the helm of the warzone that is Twitter.

Just cause silicon valley started drinking it doesnt mean they own the benefits. Monks drink buttertee to aid their meditation cause it enhances focus and the butter gives stable energy levels over time, it doesnt cause a bloodsugar spike like sugarheavy energy shit or coffee with sugar and milk. Rich I'm a fan, this talk started off great especially his meditation and life style, very interesting. Caution don't be seduced by power as he then goes on referencing products in correcting or contextualizing the past and rehabilitation in the future. Isn't part of learning and maturing making mistakes and laughing about the past. Laughing about life. I'm not a fan of autocorrecting life. If someone gets fired for what they tweeted 5 years ago it speaks volumes about a culture and not in a good way. Twitter is merely aiming to de-risk itself from lawsuits.

Jack is completely out of integrity with himself. Twitter is not what he portrays and it is a very censored and manipulative platform. He opened this pandora's box and now he thinks he can control it. Big tech is big brother. This conversation made me cringe, but I listened to try and understand this guy. Sorry, he's truly misguided.
