Tim was hard but it wasn't helpful. To reiterate over and over the same instance doesn't help. Plus, throwing names and cases at them shows he came prepared, but what did he expect the outcome would be other than deflection by the opposite side? Thanks it didn't turn into a shouting match but the only takeaway from it was: companies using algorithms don't even know how they work anymore. That is the scary shit. I've been growing my account with 7k followers for 5 years and they decide to suddenly ban me for "evading suspension" They gave me no explanation but the only reason they could have banned me is because I logged into my friend's account which was suspended months after i logged in, just because I logged into his account they've removed my connection to thousands of my followers. They clearly don't care about the user's experience or people being harassed because then they would have a real support system instead of kicking everyone off their platform.

I too came back to this episode because of the Twitter files release, big thanks Joe! Sadly they didn’t follow their own words as we all know intent isn’t reality. SO grateful to those that make efforts to bring the REAL to the masses!

They suspended the @ArticlesOfUnity page on twitter bcus a bunch of Biden supporters mass reporting it as Russian bots. Joe Rogan bringing back Jack along with Tim is a testament to how open and earnest he has been with this podcast. This episode happening itself is a big victory for new media.

Around 49:20 she says that when Meghan Murphy said "men aren't women though" that was her second strike. Both Joe and Tim ask why that deserves a strike. She pauses and then keeps talking without addressing how that counts as a strike. They know they are wrong but have no way of rationalizing it.
Exactly. They are patently aware of why their practices are unethical, and there's definitely an agenda at at work they actively tried to downplay with excessive deflection and being deliberately vague about black and white points. All this did was reinforce -- very effectively ar that -- everyone's suspicions about Twitter. Vijaya is wayyy too confident about regulations not coming their way, I wouldn't be so sure. They're drawing the gaze of metaphorical Eye of Sauron so to speak.
bballa124 just watched that part and noticed the same thing. She’s isn’t actually interested in actual discussion. She’s uses the typical therapist approach of sure that is the way you feel, I understand but....

Just finished the whole video. Hats off Joe, this was a brilliant podcast. Good idea bringing Tim and the lawyer. That took this conversation to the next level. I appreciate everyone showing up for this. Honestly, I don't trust the Twitter team, but conversation is a great first step, and I respect them for showing up. Maybe someday they will "earn more trust". This is an unbelievably relevant podcast in the modern world, this should be shown in high schools. Peace All, here's hoping for a future that's better than Tim expects 🙂
Agree...by the end I realised how much I miss the time when people with opposing views and interests could sit down and talk, not to agree or necessarily change each other's minds but for each individual to see if the other has something to teach, something they can learn from. I always said good old fashioned debate is lacking in society because people are quick to run from the conversation, attack the other side or just cry victim. I think this conversation in itself was a breath of fresh air on the internet even though I'm almost as pessimistic about the future Tim.
@Neon Rogue hello you cheerful and friendly person 😃 in my books a conversation, even if riddled with lies, is a lot better than no conversation at all. Even if everything the Twitter team said was a lie, (maybe it's because I have such low expectations) I still found the fact that they listened, were respectful in the face a critism and discussed their "official perspectives" on controversial issues and admitted that they were wrong in a number of issues, a step in the right direction. The fact that they had a 3 hour live discussion on a show with millions of viewers, a good moderating host and an awesome journalist who was ready to call them out, is great to see. I would love to see Kathleen Kennedy have to sit and talk for 3 hours with some frustrated star Wars fans who are tired of just being labeled women hating, basement dwelling bigots. You can be angry over them not fixing everything instantly if you want, but I would rather celebrate baby steps in the right direction in a world where that is an all too rare thing. Peace all...

@Neon Rogue hello you cheerful and friendly person 😃
in my books a conversation, even if riddled with lies, is a lot better than no conversation at all.

Given how things have gone in social media over even the last week or two, I'd say he was right. This podcast from three months ago seems almost quaint in how much optimism could still be summoned by the end of the podcast -- even by Tim. Things have gone downhill since to say the least.
@@joshuar9560 i think if anything the lady would just act as if he interrupted her, and say "can i finish". Then they qould juat basically skip his actual question
@@MtnDewWarrior But he was interrupting her quite regularly.
She wasn't there to defend Twitter, so much as to provide details about the different cases in which he might be interested. The kind of details which he could not possibly know, but in which you would think he'd be interested.
Yet he didn't show any interest at all in gaining new information from her. He just wanted to lay out his case against Twitter, and every time she tried to bring his focus back to the reason she was there- to provide quite specific information- he would redirect to the larger debate over Twitter's bias.
"Anti-vax is not against our rules" Hahahahaha this didn't age well!!
The fact people have to misspell the word underscores the point , the censorship bots strike the word if spelled correctly
Trying to find a timestamp i’ve got a 🔥 meme i’m trying to send to Tim cast

Natural immunity is best, they now today, in February 2022, admit what has been known for hundreds of years in the medical field.
I caught that tid bit also lol
knowing everything we know about social media companies now this is basically satire
Jack Dorsey says in the first 5 min we are mainly focused on elections then fast forward ted cruz asks Jack can u or do you have any involvement in elections. Jack said no under oath
This is fucking scary man
Tweet it out to Ted
oh thats a solid point! I had not watched this episode until after the hearings. Ted Cruz brought the thunder in his questioning.
Some1 needs to tweet it to ted. I dont have any social media besides UA-cam. I deleted all mine 5 years ago and thankful I did but some1 should def. It that portion out and send it to him to add to evidence at the hearings
8:42 just in case you want to keep it handy 😂
A year later, the truth was revealed and Tim was completely right.
More than we could ever imagine
It was obvious back then too.
Tim is ahead of the curve!
@@PicassoPP too ahead. The curve went down to zero just like his brain.
230 needs to go and these creeps need to be taken to the cleaners...only thing that takes is money
When Tim Pool is the most conservative person in the room. 🤔
I was onboard when he was talking about the hypocrisy in when they ban; but he lost me when he started saying that they had a responsibility to free speech. They’re a company they can do what they want
@@Key_highway it's good that he's critical of them. Keeps it all out in the open. But you're right. And let them censor, until there's no more words to be said.
Full Salvo it’s not that I don’t think they should allow people to say whatever they want, but to insinuate they have a legal responsibility is incorrect, I mean if I owned a bar and people were using horrible language and being rude to other patrons I’d be well within my rights to kick them out, it’s my business
@@Key_highway I said you're right. I didnt disagree with you at all. I said "let them censor until there's no more words to be said." And "it's good he's critical."
@@Key_highway dude, I think you really dont understand how powerful twitter is
Knowing what we know now, this podcast hits a little different.
The last minute of this podcast is why I love Tim. When the cameras were off she asked Tim to disclose his sources and he REFUSED. Journalistic integrity is alive, and it’s name is Tim Pool
That part at the end was pure gold
I have watched Tim's channel before but not as much as Joe's channel. What was apparent to my simple uneducated mind is that this would have been a very different episode without Tim there. He came with facts and specifics and did an outstanding job holding their feet to the fire. Kudos to Tim.
Tim is a beast and he’s very much objective, calls it as he sees it.. which is why he is by far my favorite and highly underrated podcaster.. no offense mr. Rogan, your 2nd place😜
Damn, thanks for pointing that out.
I respect him on a different level
Integrity w Tim pool bull shit.bring the facts

Jack: I'm going back on the podcast with Vijaya to clarify things, that way our PR certainly can't get any worse.

It's ridiculous that episodes like this are just erased from Spotify. But thank you, Baby Jesus, for UA-cam keeping it up.
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your RIGHT to say it. Democracy used to be about that...

“In general things lean far more left, would you agree to that?” ....

“I don’t know what that means”
I was thinking the same thing. They know exactly what it means.
I abandoned that label because these days it has too much feel-good virtue signalling attached to it.
😂
That was one of the most asinine answers I’ve ever heard and I was appalled by it. She lost whatever legitimacy I could have given her when she said that.
They did admit to being leftist.
Anyone that uses twitter regularly can tell they’re biased just pay attention to their promoted tweets and Moments
Not to mention the bullshit Jack and the other girl said about protecting races/genders from harassment. Anyone can go on twitter right now and type in "White People" or "Straight males" and see the viscous one sided hate/media articles. I spent 25 minutes searching "Black People" results and literally couldn't find a single negative comment. Liberals have made our society completely obsessed with skin color/their differences in general and wont ever stop.
exactly....
Lol that’s what I was thinking. I was like If I were there I’d say “Bitch, open twitter right now and tell me the first thing you see!”
The featured news when you hit the search button is far to the left of cnn home page
DaddynHay to be fair i think its more complicated than them simply waking up tomorow and saying this rule and that rule should be changed, its most likely a longer process and discussion to determine the effects of certain changes and it’s a process we don’t even know anything about and not to mention they also have alot of factors and sides they most likely have to listen too so they can keep the company at an all around balance,
much needed mr. Joe
Jack: "You have to remember Tim the context" x1000
Joe: "But wont an algorithm miss the context?"
Jack: "yes"
Absolutely ridiculous. I hope people really see what's going on as far as free speech on all these big tech platforms. This was a monumental shift in positive discourse, even though they were bending over backwards to defend themselves.
It's almost like Jack wants his cake and to eat it too. He needs to make a decision about what Twitter is going to be and be public with it. Either he's going to allow more free speech or restrict it more. He's trying to ride the fence but it won't work!
How much do you pay to use Twitter? Oh yea. That's right. You won't.
@@freedomjay2672 , in which case users are products, not customers, and are being treated accordingly. No one is forced to use Twitter.
@@freedomjay2672 Exactly. We can talk context and should. It's important to be able to answer plainly as well instead of immediately going into defense mode.
I really don't think Dorsey understands that people aren't mad that he has rules on his website. They're mad because the application of those rules seems to be all kinds of obfuscated.
