      @@LindaLovesChristmas depending on your pan and how hot it is, it takes about a minute or so, you will know when it starts to look crispy and dark on the outer edge then it’s time to turn it over using a skishkabob stick. I use a takoyaki cast iron pan to make this khanom Krok. Hope this helps😇

      The technique that Thai people use to see whether Khanom Krok is cooked or not. We will observe from its edge. If its edges begin to turn light brown. that is, it is cooked

      Overall, I don’t think it’s unhealthy. It’s a dessert snack food. That is what it is. I use less sugar than other recipes, but it still does have the oil in the batter and used on pan.

    I don’t have tapioca flour and is not available here so can I skip it out for this recipe or should I use corn starch????

    • @CraftstoCrumbs
      @CraftstoCrumbs  6 років тому +3

      Yes, you can substitute corn starch for tapioca flour. The tapioca flour helps to thicken and helps the cakes be glossy. Please note that substitution of cornstarch to tapioca is 1:2, so use 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in place of 2 tablespoons of tapioca flour.

    • @CraftstoCrumbs
      @CraftstoCrumbs  2 роки тому +1

      Hi. If you are using a nonstick pan, you don’t have to grease before each batch and that will help with any grease inconsistencies.
      This is a recipe that I developed. It can be adapted easily to taste.

    I don’t have coconut milk can I use coconut cream ?

    • @CraftstoCrumbs
      @CraftstoCrumbs  5 років тому +1

      Angela S., hi absolutely can use coconut cream. You just have to add water to your coconut cream to thin it down to make it coconut milk. The ratio is up to you for consistency, but I wouldn’t thin it down too much.
