Talk about incredible! Not only was the music great, you see complete synchronization of everyone as they march. The Drum Major is like no other I have ever seen. Keep up the great, beautiful music that you play, forever in your hearts. I'm not sure if there was a competition to earn this spot in the parade, but I can tell you that you are the best I've ever seen. THANK YOU for such a glorious video!
I think you took my words and used better ones to describe this band. The whole band and the DRUM MAJOR in particular was absolutely outstanding in every respect. They deserve a full 5 stars.
It’s the original composition, I believe. I have a Navy cd of the Band and Glee Club. Great songs. Beautiful renditions of ‘Eternal Father, and anchors aweigh. The intro if I remember for anchors aweigh, is a tad bit more on my cd, with the great 👍 Band playing into The melody.
As a Navy aviator, I have high hopes that many more will follow, enticed by our ideals and march :D Which is, for the record, the best one ^.^ I generally don't like HS bands as they don't exactly sound refined. But these guys are THE thing. If I could be a kid again (and didn't want to become what I am as I did), these guys would have made me want to become a navy officer.
Where is "we sail at break of day (of ay ay) through our last night ashore, drink to the foam Until we meet once more, here's wishing you a happy voyage home.."
I see they have a twirling drum major. I really hate that. I understand that in a competition the band receives a higher score for a twirling drum major but it takes away the military appearance of a band, IMHO. You would never see one of the Queen's Guards bands with a twirling drum major. Neither the Royal Marines nor the US Marines have twirling drum majors. When Ron Hoar was director of the host band Arcadia, there were no twirling drum majors. I wish the rules would drop the bonus for twirling. The band was just fine both with their music and their marching. Congrats and hope you enjoyed your trip to Arcadia and the march down Baldwin Ave.
Why is the drum major wearing a British bearskin? Is he trying to emulate the Guards? Please.....if you're going to try to be British learn the British style of marching and mace work? Also research the uniform and put that together correctly as possible too? You'd have a much better presentation.
Finally, a band in class A competition who can march with almost perfect alignment and a drum major who knows how to handle the mace!
Thank you! Much appreciated!
Dude there’s a lot of class A bands that march with perfect alignment...
Band really sounds professional! Having spent 27 years in the Navy this is a great presentation! FLY NAVY!
And their uniforms! Their neckerchiefs look better than mine at my last inspection 🤣

takes a lot of practice to do what he was doing, timing etc.
Shekos on Warren properly on the head the top of the Shaco should be parallel to the ground
