Legend defending Constantinople 1453 be like: hey seems like we got another saving disaster battle here.
Going to be a pretty tough battle so we're going to have to rely alot on our Legendary Lord Constantine XI as well these Genoese mercs: their stats are great so they'll be clutch here.
Saving your disaster *campaign*
@@ltandronicus open the gate so the ottomans will attack right here where Giustiniani Is ready to strike em
Saving your disaster dynasty
Legend "the battle difficulty is on very hard and campaing on legendary"
"If you're at turn 100 you should be out of your starting area if you're a decent player"
meanwhile legend conquered the whole map in 8 turns
Is this real? Is there a link?
Well, he won the game in 11 but not the whole map, unless there was a Taurox stream that I missed.
@@cheat200 there’s a playlist called something like “Turks Blitz campaign” on Legend’s channel
@@cheat200 Nah there's no Total War game where you could paint the whole map in 8 turns lol. Tauroxs mechanics in WW2 can get pretty broken and ridiculous and you can paint the whole map if you min-max in a stupid low amount of turns in WH2 though
@@zackhawn5944 legend actually did a campaign where he conquered the full map of empire in 3 turns
Saving disaster battles is so very on-brand for the Byzantines
Their campaign is just one giant saving disaster.
Well Eastern roman Empire in Attila is even worse, the Sassanid Empire can declare war to the player very early and the battle AI is smarter.
@@florians9949 Byzantines have actually a very decent position.
“Legend of Total War here and we got a disaster battle here at Manzikert.”
@@ayylmao575 he left at 565 stating that it was "saved".
“I actually need their infantry to leave the battlefield or die in order to win.”
Immediatly wins after that.
i think they need to just leave the city

Mongols, my Lord.
LMAO
Always loved playing as the English and getting attacked by the Mongols; set up the longbowmen's stakes behind the gates then sit back and wait for the cavalry to come rushing through.
I had once a campaign where i rushed Jerusalem as the HRE and by the time the Mongols showed up i had it upgraded to the point where i could recurit Pikes, 3 untis behind the gate and after their Siege Towers died i let the Ram through and then the Hordes came in and died to a Hugbox of Pikes.
but Kooky that's CHEESE
never got to the point where you can use stakes so don't even know how those work tbh
@@Laucron They are stupidly overpowered. They essentially kill any cavalry going into them while running. It also works on your own cavalry so make sure to walk them over stakes instead of running.
@@Laucron yep; full on stinky cheese - there are certain archer units in the game that can set up sharpened stakes in front of them when you're setting up formations - cavalry units charging into them are pretty much insta-killed. If you set them up around the gate and deploy stakes then when the AI breaks through they send their cavalry in at full pelt through the gates and straight into horse kebabs. If you have a multi-walled fortress/town or whatever then it has to be on the innermost gate, otherwise they bring the ram through and it destroys the stakes.
Ah yes, the dreaded Kitboga the Wrathful. Famed scourge of the east, feared from the walls of Costantinople to the call centers of Kolkata.
DO NOT REDEEM NOOOOOOO!
Saving campaign videos are so great.
It's like watching Gordan Ramsey fix up a run down restaurant.
Great content
This infantry unit is a bunch of absolute donkeys! You noodle, why did you get them? Just cancel this building you donut!
These cavalry units are frozen! You're literally priding yourself on your cavalry, but then using frozen horses!
Yeah, it is surprisingly fun!
21:25
The screen hadn't even fully loaded and he instantly still manages to execute the prisoners without a second thought
Never played ME2 so I just noticed how high and beautiful those wall were and the small doors they use to go up and down walls from the inside. If this was possible in 2006, I see no reason why WH3 should have such awkward, tiny walls in 2022!
Not to mention how units just teleport from the top of the wall to the bottom now, or the fact that all units just pull ladders out of thin air when attacking walls
WH sieges are terrible imo but ME2's sieges had their own issues with pathfinding which is why they gave up and simplified it in WH TW. which i feel is what WH TW is, they couldn't pull of the depth so they made it vast but shallow.
"The Mongols have arrived"-LegendOfTotalWar 2022
seeing that siege tower fall in on itself is so pleasing
Yes. The Mongols besieging Constantinople in M2TW is the ultimate total war battle scenario. Let’s go.
Too bad the map is so generic, if this would have been the Total war attila map it would have been awesome.
@@torquevonthorne948 I mean, Med 2 is like, 14 years old. Bush was still in office when this game was released. And this was their second fully 3d total war. Its fair to expect it being a little generic still.
@@torquevonthorne948compared to shogun 2, medical 2’s maps are sooo much better and i say that as a fan of both games
sallying out and stopping siege engines has won me many battles that were impossible to win otherwise, probably learned it from your vids in the first place
Legend getting me feeling nostalgic on this nice Friday morning!!! Always good to learn how to defend better in this game even though i've usually stayed the aggressive attacker XD
I love sieges in medieval 2. Gates are a nightmare for the AI to attack. I once destroyed a full army of dismounted feudal knights and spearmen by putting my only 3 units of huscarls directly at the gate in a blobb. They never got passed me.
Houscarls be like: -SHIELDWALL! PREPARE YOUR AXES!
@@matiasmattera6650 seriously all you have to do is blob them right in front of the gate so that their mass does not matter.
It must be that they keep trying to walk and formup in the causeway or something because they cant fight when they are stuck like that.
Yeah sieges were actually hard to attack and easy to defend back there, not like warhammer ones
Excellent. I always learn something from Legends style, and its better than watching the Telly! (especially here in the UK, TV is dire!)
All right, I watched all disasters in Medieval 2 to this point. And I will wait for more disasters in Medieval 2.
Don't hold your breath. I haven't received a medieval 2 disaster in months.
@@LegendofTotalWar Some day, there will be. Some day...
Have faith, my son. 😁
@LegendofTotalWar how do we send you a disaster battle or campaign?
A MEDIEVAL II VIDEO IN 2022? I DIED?.... I... I'M IN HEAVEN?
"We should have the walls and just let the towers do all the work" Once again proving that skaven exist even in Byzantium
The cavalry moving back to not be in range of the towers while their infantry fight on the walls. does it seem like the AI is a lot better in this game than total warhammer? never mind i saw the next battle.
It's kind of nice being reminded that this channel is called LegendofTotalWar and not LegendofTotalWarhammer from time to time.
M3TW and E2TW are my most anticipated games. Empire has too much potential.
I'm sure he'd like to play these games as well but Warhammer is the only game that gets him enough views i think
This campaign is an accurate portrayal of how the byzantine slowly crumbled into ash.
Oh, what a nice surprise to start our Fridays with! Yay!
I cannot wait for the remaster of this diamond.
you and me both, man.
And then Call of Warhammer Remastered...
Clearly you did not experience the Rome remaster disastrous launch. They just also abandoned the game after claiming it as "fixed" which is far from the truth.

@@generals.patton546 I'm aware of that. Lacked of marketing campaign, come on that's the game that put CA on wherever it is today. They didn't and still isn't get more care to it...
damn.....I really forgot the last time I was this bad in medieval 2. Amazing that this game is still pulling new players after all these years.
Seems like some new players picked this game up since Legend started playing it again, good to see.
yes another med2 saving your disaster. the more saving your disaster variety the better.
Been a while since I’ve seen Legend playing Med 2 pop up in my notifications..!!
Also damn forgot about the retrain system from this game. If you didn't plan ahead or suffered more casualties than it's worth your army would run out of steam really fucking quick.
I just started playing this game, and so far it feels like "Paint the map or be painted." My first game is as Jerusalem in the crusade campaign and breaking into egypt was a major pain. But I've watched enough Legend to know that letting them sit there and build up would be a mistake, so I totally wiped them out about as quickly as I could manage. This game throws a lot at you, but you've gotta shovel through it or it just gets worse.
Confront your problems when they're small or be swallowed by them when they grow. Hiding in castles doesn't work.
Legend playing medieval II again? Hell yeah
Love this kind of videos
Us seeing Legend play the best Total War game: Ou, it’s beautiful!
So looking forward to the next historical game
I just came back to medieval 2 after like 10 years and was having a real hard time with battles, campaign was easy but the way battles work is so different from total war warhammer. Melee and cav feel so much beefier in this. Like yeah range is good but the AI in field battles actually tries not to get shot lol
@Dyl No mods! this was my first campaign in med 2 since I had it on cd as a kid so I did england vanilla. And man I sucked on the battles. Like in wh2 it seems enimies will rush you even if you have 15 sisters of avelorn and a fire wizard. but in med 2 if you out number them they stay put and shit and it not as easy to fix beaten up units as wh2
@Dyl Yeah I can't do high battle difficulty in wh2. I like knowing I can just send teclis into a siege by himself.
The idea that elite infantry is totally useless on very hard battle is too much for me. when cheese becomes necessary you've done too much.
I tried sfo recently and it feels like the infantry is all around beefier
@DillsyYourDaddy67 It is pretty annoying that AI does recruit so much useless siege instead of proper armies though.
this didnt show up in my sub feed, sorry i didnt watch till so many days after. Love M2TW content.
Actual mad lad uploaded how he did it.
legend is back
I downloaded and played medieval2 and Atilla, damn the historical setting for campaing is just the best
That iconic music at the start!!!
Puting the archers down in the street is the most effective tactic in siege defence imo. I always leave room where the siege towers are gonna land to have a clear shot into the enemy's flank, combined with flaming arrows you can litteraly melt the enemy.
11:15 He can attack them, but directly if the flag unit is up. You can send him on top of the with a location command and they will fight their proximal enemies
More historical TW content would be appreciated.
“Get back inside if ya can, but I think ya DED”
I always cue up construction. I don’t want to be constantly going through my city’s and build stuff.
Having something being built everywhere helps with public order and income. Use the remaining funds for your armies, it will make you not overspend on them and end up in debt.
I really like to let the towers get to the wall and flank the place they will get onto the wall, with melee infantry. Then I place some archers on the ground inside the wall and shoot at the infantry. If you do that way, you only get a little friendly fire, and the hostile infantry gets hit both from the front, the rear and from arrows. Usually melts them
I think it would be good to cover some more Med2 stuff before Immortal Empires comes out next month and we are all lost to Warhammer again ;)
182 comentarios, reflejan nuestro interés que tenemos en medieval 2... Váyase señor legend Total war. Jubílese
you can put archers at the bottom right where the enemy stands fighting on the wall. They will kill those who stand at the edge of the wall. Using fire arrows is actually pretty good in that situation since the enemy gets double morale damage
That Medieval 2 soundtrack...............
Desire to Crusade INTENSIFIES!!!!!!!!!!
I thought i was dreaming when i saw "medieval 2" on my feed
if you put archers on the wall left or right to the zone where the infantry would land when exiting the siege tower, and underneath the wall, and shoot the units on the walls, peasant archers are able to devastate higher tier units no problem
Ah man, hopefully medieval 3 is going to be awesome.
When fighting the Mongols I always just sent one unit of my worst troop outside the gate. The Mongol Horsemen would just rush it and get within arrow range. Then Id send the unit back through the gate and the Mongol Horsemen would go "Oh, no one to kill anymore." and turn around and casually walk back to their position. All the while I'd be picking off with archers on the wall.
Can't wait for Medieval 3
i never get borred of medieval 2 no matter what
The only explanation of someone being in their starting area if their trying to role play, except in this case I feel like he just played too passively, lost a lot of casualties trying to invade settlements and decided to play defensively against the mongols
The chuckle at 4:18 is hilarious, funny moment
Time for a good ol' cavalry sandwich
Some luck flamign arrow shots on a ram once helped.- is that großer König Friedrich Barbossa in Turkye?
So I don’t know why he stopped (Legend) but I miss him calling us fuckers at the end of his videos.. 🥺
They left a gate open. True fact.
Oh, right, it's not a WH channel
I'd like trying some of these SYDCs myself, think I've gotten pretty good at Total War
How can you be in this situation 100 turns in.
How can gohan fight the androids for 10 years and not have a good gameplan?
Begginer
This type of siege battle is more fun than capping towers in warhammer 3
Agreed. Medieval 2 still has the best sieges in my opinion, which is kinda sad considering how old it is
As much as I'm not a fan of the 45-60 min long SYDB vids, I would happily have watched another 30 mins of this as SYDC are always more involved and I learn a lot more.
Still better than watching Domination battles in TWWH3 though!
Love the change of pace and game.
Disaster campaigns are always way more engaging than disaster battles
That's a funny layout for Constantinople huh
I could send disaster battles but I don't play any TW games without mods fixing things like diplomacy, reroll skills etc.. But I'm glad some out there play vanilla
Question, is it not possible to destroy the siege tower using fire arrow while they are still inside climbing up to the tower? waiting for righ time to set fire like fish in a barrel
In my campaign acre just fell and there are like 5 full stacks on their way and I have 3 army’s on the other side of the map. Fighting the Holy Roman Empire.
Very cool
Historical total war????!!!!!! Based
13:40
Perfect timing
So a full stack of cavalry should 100% be able to always break all siege equipment in this game
I'm starting to think that legend is sun tzu
Hope there will be more another TW series
Me encanta el total war ❤
the time when wall were still important
Nice
MTW2 looking ancient.
Fuck that music is good

Medieval 2 yeet yeet
I wish medieval 2 didn’t give you generic ass city models…. Constantinople should feel unique when playing
Always the Mongols

Where's warp lightning when you need it?
I did a double take at this lol
Defending walls in this game is so damn easy.
Just cram the infantry at the gate.
The AI is so stupid😂
Infinitely prefer this over Warhammers sit in a corner of the map strat for sieges.
@@Volkmargrim Ass ladders are a plague in TWWH... I just cant understand who thought its a good idea.
@@Debilinside siege towers are also too OP.
@@GeraltofRivia22 They would be okay imo as you have options to destroy them. But the AI just rushing you and climbing your walls everywhere just kills sieges for me. No sense in having fortifications because it makes your forces weaker :D
@@Debilinside 99% of the time I never hold the walls in warhammer 2. I might have infantry hold the towers if I have an excess of units. You will survive much better just holdin the central square every time.
Woah, Medieval 2 Disaster!
When you Said That there archers are not good até melee ilaughed a bit, bit when you Starter to get concerned ar your losses at the wall i thought..."yeah... They arent just tough against me"...
I aproach the Mongóls always on killing their CAV and then my CAV destroy there archers, there archers on the walls are tough, because of their experiência! You should had attacked their towers first !
Their infantry is a pain um sieges
112 turns into the campaign and you don't even have your armor upgrades yet?
Yew more let's save battle's
