What I love so much about Soseki is the fact that he poses so much, it’s hard to take him seriously, but then you remember how easy to feel sorry for the guy. And we can’t also forget the very exaggerated title he gives to the protag: LOCCUM STUDENT MR. NARRAHOUDO ESQUIRE!

this guy is like the larry butz of dgs. however more likeable and easy to feel sorry for, since unlike larry he doesnt bring these situations on itself, the world just likes dumping on him. you have to feel sorry for the poor, overdramatic, theatric japanese gentleman.

I mean the bad things that happen in his first appearance were his fault, if he just tried to help Viridian after she got stabbed than he probably wouldn't have been accused of murder (Sherlock even says this.)

OH...so when he says "I am a Cat" while in prison is actually another reference to his book. The devs did their homework well(and the localization team as well, as they kept the reference)

I believe he was extremely proud, but also self deprecating at the same time and so the teacher is a perfect example of this. DGS Soseki is definitely an exaggerated caricature, but gets him mostly right.
I was so scared for this guy before I learnt he's an actual historic figure, I thought we would soon read in a paper that his liner sank in a storm or something because of the 'curse'. Anyway his theme is beautiful, a rich melody that's whimsical but elegant at the same time. At least the music designer didn't have it out for Soseki-san.
For some reason, I never noticed that this was his theme. I just thought it was music in the game. However, now that I think about it, it only did play while he was around...
This is the best character theme. The variance of instruments on display all playing at different times shows Souseki's antsy personality real well, but it still has a refined elegance to it despite all that. At the end of the day, he's still an accomplished novelist.
I totally get you, he should've been a main player until the end, even if only a little. GAA2 has some issues with fitting things in, like Membami-san and retconning the second case into existence.
well, actually the curse was that people prosecuted by Baron von Zieks vanished from London, as Holmes put it and he DID leave London eventually, so technically speaking, he's still a victim of the curse, just not a lethal one
Soseki is hilarious, from the dialogue and screaming Locum Student Mr. Naruhodo Esquire all the time to the twitches and the faces he makes. It's just as if he's a genuine person, an open book! I feel so bad for him! A really likeable character.

The way I imagine this song, it tells of a human being with a silly personality who always becomes involved in the worst situations they never created but no matter what happens, they will try their hardest knowing there's always an optimistic side at the end of a hill. God I love Natsume.
I wanna thank dgs for having the best filler defendant in Ace Attorney history. It’s one big thing to have a main character from another series like Sholmes to be in the main cast in a non-crossover setup, but it’s another to have a real guy(‘s likeness) just be there as a cooky author and cat guy longing for home being accused for murder twice in the under 3 days! Best guest star that I had no context ever about😅

But if I ever find time perhaps I'll cook up a small example trial of the first case to give people a feel for how things work. I did make one decision I don't feel a lot of people might like. But I think it adds potentially more then it may take away.

Meanwhile, Natsume shows up and I find myself intrigued by who he is and what he's done. Putting aside Susato and Iris, Natsume may just be my favorite character in the subseries.
