    All good until the seat starts flexing and pulls out of the light gauge aluminium

    This video does not show the most important part. How is the bracket secured to the boat bench seat since the back side of the bench set is completely full of foam.

    How does that base go when you take your tinny through a lot of chop pretty often? Looks like it might brake?

    Question. Are all the brackets plastic and does the swivel base loosen over time

    • @OutbackEquipment
      @OutbackEquipment  Рік тому

      Hi Ted, all brackets are plastic and all supplied screws are stainless steel. They do tend to loosen over time, particularly if you are really leaning into the back of your seat.

    And, as with every boat seat installation video, there's no mention of bolt size.
    I'm totally green when it comes to boats so, a little mention as to what size bolts to use would be helpful.
    I'm installing offset suspension mounts, instead of pedestal mounts, in the bed of my 1985 Dodge and must use lag bolts for the wood bed floor.
    It's not a stepside but still has an 8 foot wood deck.

    What do these seats cost?
    Where to purchase?

    Looks easy enough but can you tell me if the base stays secure. What type of bolts did you use for a solid base fit that doesn’t come,loose

    Sounds good in theory but the mount screw keep pulling the rubber through the hole

    Hi,
    I want to modify my existing seats to be reversible. I can't just add swivel plates because the seats are too close to sides of the cabin. If I used these Titan mounts, could I remove the seat and replace it facing the opposite direction?

    • @OutbackEquipment
      @OutbackEquipment  2 роки тому

      Hi Stephen, our understanding is that you should be able to do this, as they can be installed in either direction allowing the seat to be removable in any direction. If you want to know more details or just double check things, you can always contact us at 1300 854 185 for more information.

    Does it feel like it will eventually break if you lean back on it while sitting?

      Our Tinny's seat has started to come loose after many fishing trips, with the bolts starting to pull through slightly. The thing to remember here however is that these bolts are only screwed through 2mm on aluminium. We have used a screw driver to tighten these bolts back up again and they've been fine ever since. However we certainly wouldn't recommend putting your full weight back into the seat as this might cause these bolts to pull through.

    Hi, Nice vid did the screws to hold the mount ever pull out? I am looking to secure a similar set to my jon boat.

      Hi David, Great question! It has been 6 months now since the install off our seat after many trips they are starting to loosen a little. We had just simply tightened the screws back up again and using duralac to help with two dissimilar metals and to help secure. Wouldn't recommend however using this in harsh conditions.

      @@OutbackEquipment Thanks for the reply. Have you thought of using rivnuts? I am thinking of try those.

      @@davidsmith7731 did you ever try rivnuts? I bought this mounting system and the screw system is pretty useless

      @@donblack7830 Hi, I did go with the rivnuts. They do seem to hold well. I am about 200 lbs. And the mounts are only as strong as the mounting surface, so I take it easy on the boat regardless. I can send pics .
