awesome to hear! I've got a little deadspot on the Eb (4th Fret) on the B string. Do you have one there too? Also, what strings do you like best on yours? I've got the LaBella RX Nickels on mine now
Hi Ma, I put some wedges under the ramp. It has worked to raise it, but it’s at an angle towards the neck pick-up, as the screws are towards the bridge pickup .. Still looking for a clear shim solution. Apart from that, this is a great bass.
Hey Zukadog! I used a couple of rubber pieces as wedges as well (ugly af i know..), but a nicely cut clear shim seems like too much work for a DIY job... let me know if you find any hahahahaha
So after 3 months are you still really into it? I’m about to buy one without having ever touched one solely based on the sounds it makes and my perception that it is comfortable and easy to play but doesn’t look like a spaceship lol. Thanks for making the video. Cheers.
It's been my main axe ever since, and I'm still loving it! I've come to discover a deadspot on the low Eb on the B string (it decays a little faster than the other notes) but there's a deadspot on every bass so... just a matter of whether it's somewhere that annoys you or not
@@mah_cz Nice, that’s what I wanted to hear. I think I’m gonna order it tomorrow. I’ve been doing a lot of window shopping on the intrawebz, borrowing a bunch of nice basses from friends for a few weeks at a time to check out, and listening a lot. I think that’s the one.
@@freerangecitizen well when you get your’s you gotta do a review and demo so the rest of us can be comfortable with dropping 3k on our “dream 5”! That don’t come easy for a po boy like me lol.
@@gilnicbobby it landed yesterday and I’m out of town, killing me lol. I don’t think my playing or nonexistent videography skills will add anything to the conversation but I’ll for sure get back with you and share my impression. I have one of those NUX Melvin Lee Davis preamps waiting at home too that I bought more to doctor up my practice rig & pbass sounds but it’s one more thing to try. So amped, Got this Christmas Eve vibe going today.
@@freerangecitizen I can certainly relate! Well at least you have good taste in gear lol… and I’m sure you’re a better player than you give yourself credit. I’d love to have one of those Melvin Lee Davis 5 strings also. But then again, he can make anything sound like a dream.
I have this model bass too. It's perfect bass for me , very comfortable to play and bridge tone is AMAZING!!! (Except that idiot battery compartment...) BTW ,I order a beautiful Purple heart Wood Ramp form local luthier, more useful then Original HAHA
the battery compartment lid is stupid indeed! It's impossible to pry it open without tearing apart your fingernails. I keep a spare flat-head screwdriver in my bass bag for the sole purpose of prying open the battery compartments LOL.
Beautiful 5-string bass and your playing is excellent however you didn't demonstrate the sound of the fifth string on this 5-String instrument. You demonstrated your skill on 4 strings nicely. I am disappointed. I have no idea yet how that fifth string on a Mayones Jabba 5 sounds, although, well, that B string sure makes a handy thumb rest...
that's an excellent point 🤣 thanks for pointing it out LOL. it's not the tightest B I've heard as compared to e.g. those on a Dingwall, but it's very useable.
It's a ramp that comes with the bass! You should let Mayones and Hadrien Feraud know because apparently they thought it looks nice. My main gripe was that it was too low to be of any use.
I have the same model and finish. I’ve had it for 2 years and I’m still in love with it.

@@mah_cz no dead spots on mine. I like the La Bella white nylon tape wound, but I’ve currently settled on the Elixir nickel plated steel.
Awesome unboxing and demo! Also, you have really good taste, love the Casiopea track at 6:24
aww thanks for the kind words! :D fun fact: the Casiopea keyboardist composed many of the train station tunes for the Japan train network!
@@mah_cz that’s awesome!! I actually had no idea, but it makes me want to visit Japan even more
Wow sounds amazing! Power lah!
:D
That sound and design is so sexy. Thanks for posting!
You're most welcome!
Thank you for that review, made it clear for me that i don't really need that bass
most welcome! glad it helped you make a choice! :)
Awesome Instrument!!!!!
Thanks for this awesome video mate 🤝
Great playing too btw. Sounds tight
I bought the same bass with same finish from Zjon, with the same cookies about 1,5 year ago :D Absolutely loving the bass. Great video btw!
awesome! yes i'm still loving the bass too! glad you like the video! :)
Looks so solid !
That bass is perfect, that fretboard is so beautiful! nice video.
:DD thank you! glad you liked the video
I really like the fingerstyle part, it sounds very nice.
The song is “ Dean Town” by Vulfpeck.
Beautiful Bass my friend! And it sounds superb! I’d love to my hands on a Hadrien Sig. Thanks for the Vid.
Thank you Medina! You are most welcome.
Great bass, great video and great playing my friend!

My dream bass
it is a fantastic piece!

Never played a 5 string bass. Thinking to upgrade. How do you like the slap? Is it punchy?
Hi George! It's got a decent slap sound but I wouldn't recommend it over other decent J basses if just for slap stuff

Great playing man! Can you tell me how much the bass cost in singapore?
I paid about SGD$4600 for it including shipping! Where are you located?

Why is there a piece of acrylic between the pickups?. I don't like how that look. It looks like a repairement.
