  • My day in the life, on a chill saturday in Nuuk. I got to see lots of icebergs, an eagle and showcasing Nuuk downtown. Plus Eddie Hall And Thor´s boxing match later in the evening!
    If you have high blood pressure, I almost guarantee you will feel more relaxed after his video, as it turns out life in Nuuk is pretty chill! 😊

    Hey, it's good to be back again Alex. I've been so occupied with all the crazy stuffs that's been going on near my home in eastern europe - seeing by comparison just a lil vlog from Greenland feels oh so tranquil, thank you)

    Really happy to discover this video! I've been considering studying at Ilisimitusarfik for a while, it just seems like such a...quiet and calm place, you know? I'm sure you've been asked this before, but do you get by with just English and (I assume) Danish? I know Norwegian so it wouldn't be too hard to adapt...Kalaalisut will take a bit more work though!

    AMAZING video man, I had a summer experience and clear, blue skies in Nuuk earlier this month. But what a different experience it must be to see the icebergs in the Colonial Harbour area in winter!

    Another good video, Alex!
    Does Nuuk not have a water treatment plant to deal with the sewage before sending it into the bay? 🤢🤢🤢🤢 What causes the ice in the bay to turn that shade of blue?
    One more week and I'll be in Iceland. Practically neighbors. I decided that next year I want to fly to Iceland and make a trip to Nuuk from there, as there are frequent flights from Reykjavik!

    • @sundancer3700
      @sundancer3700 2 роки тому +3

      I am sure they treat the water. The ice is blue because the red (long wavelengths) part of white light is absorbed by ice and the blue (short wavelengths) light is transmitted and scattered. The longer the path light travels in ice, the more blue it appears.

    • @anotherperspective6247
      @anotherperspective6247 2 роки тому +1

      that's ice from glaciers that has been extremely compressed over centuries or millenium.

    • @AlexAmasaOlsen
      @AlexAmasaOlsen  2 роки тому +3

      Sewage is actually not treated before being dumped in the water, the currents are very strong (what they say).. I hope it will be treated in the future, but it is not at the moment.
      Some icelandic towns also just send sewage directly into the water, just like cruiseships etc.. Sad, but true.
      Hope your stay is good!
