      FIRE yes but the need to manage the financials continue, cannot leave this responsibility to an accountant.

    All good points. I think people do not think about retirement planning until it is late in their lives. If I work into my 70s, I hope it is out of choice and not necessity.

    having a car in SGP is immediately a total lost. but revenue generating for government.

      @@eugeneteo9664 Yes, unless the car is a need for the individual for their job, having a car in Singapore takes away precious money that otherwise can be used to invest and build wealth

      Back in the early 2000s, many of my peers went to showrooms to get cars on their 2k salaries (cars were cheaper then - remember all those red plates). I learned to invest instead. As of last July, I quit my job at 48. And now enjoying a financial cushion.

      The car is needed to do business, it helps to safe time and transport bulky things around.

      @linetriangleisasussybaka not in Singapore. Public transport is so accessible and there are always ride hailing and taxis.
