Just a little tip if you’re having trouble getting the brush to rotate directions: in the brush section under properties, click on the options of selected object button and when it brings up “stroke options” select rotation relative to: path (not page)

you can scale it by changing stroke weight.

Hey thank you for this awesome tutorial. But I'm stuck at 1:36, how do you pick the watercolor brush using the V tool. I just can do that if I drag the brush to the canvas, but in this case, if I change the stroke it won't change the size, but will create a rectangular stroke around the brush :( and I also can't change the color... Can you help me?

Select the B tool > choose a brush from the watercolor brush palette > draw a short stroke on the artboard. This way, when you change the color of the stroke, your watercolor shape will change as well. Also, if you want to resize the stroke by scaling, make sure "Scale Strokes & Effects" is checked under the general preferences. Hope this helps! :)
