Well, I figured since you've saved me so much money making sure that I've been confident grooming my dog myself, I'd send at least something your way but you know how grateful I am
Just discovered your videos and really enjoy them. I've been grooming professionally since 2009, started out as a mobile groomer. Before that I was a Veterinary Technician for 12 years.I learned to groom by watching grooming videos by Jody Murphy, a master groomer who has won many show grooming awards. (I am a very visual person.) I've always loved animals, especially dogs, from a very early age. In 2011, I suddenly became a paraplegic overnight. Now I groom in my home and besides paying the bills it is also my therapy. If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, tips and tricks. I try to learn something new every day and you are inspirational to watch. Wanted to share a tip I use. If you have a dog that seems to back way from you and sometimes their foot goes off the edge of the table, you can use a pool noodle as a protective edge guard. Just cut it to length, then slit it from one end to the other and push it onto your table edge. If your table is thick, like mine, you can use a large or jumbo pool noodle. I got mine on Amazon. Also can help to keep your shears from accidentally being knocked off the table! Thanks again for teaching us and helping us be the best groomers we can be.
Girl!! You are a Gem! I love your tip and I never thought something so simple could make such a difference on the grooming table but that sounds like an amazing tip! I've watched a lot of tutorials, but none recently. You are my FAVORITE. Love your humor and you give so much wonderful information. I have a problem with one of my pups having tear stains... Maybe I'll find a solution with you. Thanks so much. You are great.
thank you SOOO much for this video. I started grooming my own dog when i had a schnauzer and didn't need these guards. When she passed and I ended up getting a couple of sheepadoodles, i upgraded my clippers and purchased these guards. When they had puppy coats, I had no issues. When their coats changed, I started getting really frustrated with my clippers not cutting. I even purchased additional blades thinking i needed a sharp blade. This totally revealed I wasn't preparing the coat. I'm excited to try this again but preparing the coat this time!
Finally found a video that really helped me with the precise knowledge that I was seeking. Thank you so much Ma'am!! I'm planning to trim my cat's coat at home because she is an aggressive cat. Wonderful presentation! I am simply trying to figure out how to groom my Giant Schnauzer. The trimmer thing tends to be overwhelming, combs vs blades, so confusing, but I learned tons from you! You show and explain things in such great detail. You build my confidence. You address every detail! OMG! Watching the video as I type...you answered my question....so the comb determines the length despite the blade! I kiss you! As far as future videos, just keep doing what you are doing. I do appreciate you addressing us amatuers that don't have professional equipment. Thank you so much!
You have made me fall in love with grooming my fur baby and we are so in sync now, I don't even need to use the grooming harness. I am looking forward to learning all that I can and have joined. You saved us during Covid. I live in Melbourne Australia and we had hard lockdown restrictions, we were literally considered the jail state lol. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!! Tomorrow, I am going to brush, bathe, brush, dry, brush, comb and clip my 6 month old goldendoodle pup! Thank you for the post this morning re: wahl km10 availability on pet edge!! I just ordered it, the blades, clipper oil and cool plus cleaner. You have changed my life and Pepper's life!!
My sister has a teacup yorkie. She likes him to have a teddy cut face but long body. He's due for another groom soon. I can see his coat is growing longer and filling in, after a "not great groom" (her words, not mine). How do I thin out his coat without it becoming patchy or affecting the length, please? Thinning scissors ✂️ downwards or the comb you demonstrated for ears above? Thanks in advance. Absolutely love your channel and advice ❤️ xxx
Thank you for such an awesome and informative video. I learned more from you in this video than I did from my teacher at grooming school. I'll be saving and rewatching this several times over. 👏👏👏👏 Amazing video!!!! 😁❤️
I just got a Wahl pro pet set of clippers. I have a 7 month old Shorkie. He’s been groomed professionally twice and I bathe, brush, scissor in between. Not easy with a squirmy baby but he’s not too bad. I used the #10 on his whole body including face and it’s not perfect, but he looks good and nobody will know. Lol. I had to use the scissors in some places including tidying up his face. Which he doesn’t like btw. Your videos have been very helpful. Thank you 😊.
I have a oneinall clipper with snap on combs the the dial has 0.8 mm 1.4 and 2.0 mm combs 3 6 9 12 15 &18 mm . Please help I have toy poodles. It's hard to get the top knot ears and tail. Also the body. Thank you ❤️
Just found you and I have been thinking about grooming my dogs, 2 maltese, one has cancer so I want to keep him from any stress. Hoping after watching I can. My problem is what tools to buy??? Do you have a video about tool?
Hi Amy I took your advice and used the 5F on my mini schnauzer which I was so pleased ... but now other question 🙋♀️ what size skip tooth should I use to blend the fringe please ..... have purchased that yet ,thank you 🙏
First I just want to say your channel has been extremely helpful! I am a newbie at dog grooming. I noticed that you had a vacuum attached to your clippers. Could you tell me what brand it is? I will be needing something like this down the road. Thanks!
AMEN this should be tiled how to take care of your dogs hear in Arkansas SOME PEOPLE aint gotta clue on how to love and take care of a big dog me and mom argue now about what dog food to buy
Hi! New fan here..just want to ask what kind of brand of clippers or trimmers can I get for our yorkie and miniature poodle cos im doing home grooming them. Hope you notice my massage.. thank you
I used to do human hair for a lifetime 🥹 and have groomed my dog with my oster and it is not quick and gets to warm so I just pushed buy now on a bravura pet clipper I have a Miniture schnauzer that is 28 lbs 🤔 she is adorable at any size anyhoo is this a good purchase product for her it’s only for her I am not planning on doing anyone else’s pet . Just my Fancy!!! Or before I get it and open it is there a better fit for me . Ps are my human hair shears good enough to use on pets I have a small fortune invested and do I need to purchase any perfect blade for the clipper the bravura 5in 1 adjustable cordless is supposed to be adaptable as well as come with other blades . Ty in advance for your expertise and your personality is adorable and contagious. I can feel your professional and passion for the industry thank you for your time .
What’s your best clipper? I’m using a “ cordless” clipper right now that I’m liking... but I’m always open for a better one... you mentioned a new one coming in may? Let us know please❣️really like your video! I’ve been grooming for YEARS and do lots of bouviers and terriers...
If I am clipping a heavy coat or large breed, I like the Wahl KM10 best. But for small jobs I love the Kenchii flash 4 in 1 cordless clipper. And yes, in May of this year, I will reveal a new clipper that many people will fall in love with❤️ Happy Grooming my friend:)
I love you ❤️ I just got a groomer clipper set and a set of combs to try to learn how to groom my Morkie🤷♀️ I will be watching you a lot for your help. Thank you for these gifts to us new ones.
Hi! I have a Whoodle - and I think he has a double coat, I don't know. He's super soft but curly and matts easily. What clipper blades should I use? I also worry they get hot on him. I looked at the chart you linked to and it doesn't have Whoodle. It has the soft coated wheaten (which he's curlier than) and and a poodle with different style cuts. I like more of a teddy look on him with a terrier beard/face. Thanks! Love your videos they're super helpful.
You're really cool and a good groomer I have a miniature schnauzer, who I Am learning to groom. Everyone says I do a good job. I'm still learning so I see alot of mistakes . I am ordering a new clipper for Abby'.( My dog). She doesnt Have alot of furnishings But there's enough there, to Make her look good after a Good haircut. What kind do you suggest for lack of outlets I prefer a cordless. If u read this please tell me The right blade and a good Clipper, ive gone through a Walh ion.was ok for awhile however the comb was really flimsy. Thank you , Barbra.and Abigail. Also I brush her 3x or more a week.🌼🌸🌺🌷🌻💞🏵️💐
The Kenchii flash clipper is a great choice for a mini Schnauzer. Have you watched my video on How to trim a mini Schnauzer? It will explain blade and snap on combs sizes for the breed:)
Wow, I used (what I call) the matt comb to dematt my sheepaddodle Gracies ears just now and the results are amazing. Thankfully I got to see your tip before I grabbed the #10 blade and shaved her down. She has sheepdog hair, next up her half brother Kirby who has poodle hair. Thank you (both of them got cuts with scissors about a month ago. A set of combs coming soon and with your guidance I am figuring this out.
Thank so much for your informative videos. I got my very first dog in May of this year. So everything is new to me. I’ve purchased a lot of poor quality products before discovering you. I’ve ordered the Kenchii Flash but I haven’t been able to find any reviews or grooms using the guard combs with I’ve also purchased separately. Also could you explain the difference between the guard combs & the different size blades? I’m find this confusing
Hello Emily, from Sydney Australia, it is a pleasure to see your videos, look, I bought the KM10 wahl, I am cutting the hair of a very small toypoodle, before 5 minutes the blade was very hot, I sent a message to the company that sold it to me online, before 4 hours of having received the delivery, and I explained what happened, they replied that this happens with professional machines, and that I must place a cooler, they sent me a youtube video to indicate how to do it, OMG! I am sure that this is not the case, I have heard you say that this machine is ideal since it does not heat up, please help me, thank you
Hi, I appreciate your time. I have a Shitzu bijon and her hair is curly hair and I like her hair to be about an inch and a half what number comb/blade should I use?
Hi Amy. You are so special to do all these videos for us. Thank you so much. I buy everything you recommend. I bought the expensive Wahl KM 10 which as you know comes with the # 10 blade. I also bought the Wahl Stainless Steel attachment guide comb kit ( which is really overkill for my purposes). But in the Wahl instructions and on the cover of the comb kit, it says that the combs work best with #30 blade. Why is that? Now I am concerned about using the #10 blade that Wahl included with the clipper. Do I now have to spend more money to buy the #30 blade? What do you think about this given that you use the #10 blade with the #2 comb? If it's ok, I will likely do the same for my mini Bernedoodle who has a coat similar to Diesel's. 😊
Hi Amy Lee..... I have listed with interest to a few of you video clips & thanks aye! I giggled to myself when you were answering a question from someone in relation to clipping with & against the lie of the dogs coat..... :) I myself am a sheep shearer & while I was doing my dog grooming training a few years ago I actually found out quickly how much extra comes off by clipping in reverse! OMG I was shocked to be fair, as I got carried away while grooming a shitzu. Oh it was certainly a conversation which a few of us got may weeks of laughter from. Yet on the day at the salon I was mortified. The wee dog had tracks in the coat, it wasn't really bad but I knew I had slipped up. Going against the lie of the hair removed a little extra which was leaving the coat uneven. The dog was evened up before it's owner collected it yet I was certainly NOT going to forget that day! Yet we all had learned something different & it will always bring a big smile to my face! When shearing sheep I can go forward or backwards (easiest way to get the job done). Sheep wool grows out from the skin & makes for quicker & easier clipping sometimes. But aye hello from Ireland. 🥰😄🙃
What blades do u use for the maltipoo? And what brush ? I just need someone to narrow it down to one certain brush that I can use on my multiple or one certain blade to use on my maltipoo when I’m trimming him. Do u have a video that ur groomer a maltipoo? I can watch ?
Really enjoy you videos. I have a large golden doodle. He has been banned from Petco because he bit the groomer when she was doing his feet. So I am trying to learn how to do it myself.
My Maltese is 1¼ years old. He's been groomed most of his life by a pro groomer since he was about 8 weeks old. I was never told he was a problem dog. During lockdown I couldn't get to his groomer. So after 8 weeks I decided to do it myself. I'd had a little training and experience so I thought I'd be able to learn to improve my skills with pro tools and video instrution. I bought everything, brushes, combs, scissor sets and an Andis Pulse adjustable, rechargeable clipper. So good so far. My equipment looked very professional. Rowdy was kept in a modified Asian Fusion style that his groomer kept looking great. I was giving him a thorough brushing 3 or 4 times weekly and bathing monthly to retain his appearance. During combing I found he was VERY UNHAPPY AND REFUSED TO BE QUIET when getting his feet, face and ears combed. He would throw an ABSOLUTE FIT when I tried to cut his nails. Its now 5 weeks later and I haven't yet cut his nails (using recommended clippers). Now I'm giving appropriately named 'Rowdy' a full groom every 3 weeks. It's becoming a real chore. He really doesn't like showering with me or blow drying. While putting him on my table he begins to tremble a little but he's generally good. The Andis clipper is smooth and quiet. Rowdy is calm and comfortable while I cut his back and tops of his legs. I use a #7f equivalent to keep his hair very short. During all of this Rowdy is very calm and lets me move move him wherever I want. He's a very good dog. THEN THE PROBLEMS BEGIN! When I'm scissoring on top of the tips of his tops he gets really excited (frightened?) and does his best to tear away. I really can't even get close to his feet with the scissors. He has a similar but less dramatic response wherever I get scissors anywhere near his face, especially eyes and muzzle. It's really amazing that I am able to get him looking very good to the uninformed but keeping ear and jaw trim lines smooth and symmetrical is impossible. Small steps show on his pantaloon legs and bottom flares, throat, around the eyes, etc. Everywhere I have to scissor has far less than the professional look I I want to achieve. It's like trying to groom a bucking bronco. Give it a try. I think you'll go insane before you finish. I've tried petting and holding him before and during during the grooming, especially petting and rubbing his paws, toes, and nails. But when I separate the toes he becomes very agitated and when the clipper gets close he panics and pulls away in a tear. Even showing Rowdy his nail clipper makes him start quivering and shaking. Well, this has been a VERY LONG message but I thought it'd be important that you knew the entire back story to fully understand how Rowdy got to be a VERY DIFFICULT DOG. Much of the grooming job goes pretty fast and smoothly. Initial comb out takes 30 minutes or less. Showering, blow drying, and final combing takes another 30 minutes. Clipping his back, tummy and sanitaries less feet requires only 45 minutes. A poorly done final scissoring may take 1½ hours! Nails never happen. How do I calm him down! He's a very lovable, friendly dog. Makes fast friends with anyone or almost any animal that doesn't try to attack him. I live in an Assisted Living Facility where everyone loves him. Staff will drop in just just to visit and hold him. He has no aggressive tendencies. He's a GREAT DOG although he does bark too much. His diet is is perfect and he's healthy and looks wonderful if you don't look too closely. We love each other with all of our hearts. Can you please help help me teach him to accept his grooming so that we can both feel much better? I'll appreciate you more than you'll ever know. It'd make my relationship with Rowdy just perfect. NOT BEING ABLE TO GROOM HIM LEAVES A HOLE IN MY HEART ❤!
A Doggie Hammock may help. Stay consistent, always talk calmly, and keep reassuring them that they're ok. If none of it is working for you. Taking him to the Vet to get his nails trimmed, may be your only option.
Hi Amy, I just purchased a low vibration clipper. Their blades can be adjusted from 1..3mm to 1.9mm. For a 10 blade which I hear from you often, what should I adjust my blade to, especially for private areas. Thank you.
For a newbie (me) and my aussiedoodle I think my groomer uses an Andis pro Clip with a 0 or 000 blade with a 1 inch comb for my dogs body. I wanted about an 1 inch length left. Does this sound right? I will still use groomer just want to extend visits another 2 weeks. Wonderful videos you have made... Thank you so much for replies from anyone.
Darling.. I’m in a dilemma.. winter is approaching, I’d love to have my doodles coat a bit longer .. but I’m finding it hard to find the extra long attachment guards for the Wahl km10… I’m looking for the 1-2inch detachable guards
How do I know my dog gas dead hair the snap on combs don’t work. Yes brush my and comb my dogs hair but don’t bath her until after I cut. I’m learning new stuff
Why did you put a number 2 comb on a 10 blade? Is there such a thing as a 2 blade? Is a comb necessary or is the blade enough? I thought the 10 blade was way too short, but does putting the comb on top lengthen the cut and make it not so short?
Of course putting a comb over a 10 blade makes a Sage trim length. Please watch my playlist on clippers, blades, and comb attachments to clarify concussion.
Hi Amy I really have a hard time using them, do you have a video on what is a 10 or a seven for I have a Golden Retriever and would like to use them but let’s put it this way Im a little scared of them. Have a great day
Did you say that you can use the coat king to thin out your doodles full coat if you want to keep the coat longer. Which blade amount should I purchase they have 26, 12 & 10 blade would you recommend to purchase for mini bernedoodle ? Thank you so much for the advice

Have learnt so much and still learning from your channel you rock .
Awesome, thank you!
Groomers were closed and I learnt by watching hours of your grooming videos. I have even had people ask where I take Mr Magoo for grooms.
You are so right about the first few grooms and creating that relationship,,, ❤️
I just found you and I think I am going to love learning from you!
Fantastic! We can be better together. 💕
@@GoGroomer Yes we can. I just ordered a grooming table from Wayfair. Should be getting it in a couple of days, next will be the grooming tools. I just can't wait. Costs $65 to groom my Joey.
@@marymills5060 you go girl!!!👍
*****I have a Shih tzu. To trim her face so she can see do I use a. Blade or snap on comb ? Which comb takes off the least length of hair. Thanks!
Yes another demo on making the tub leash would be awesome.
I’m so thankful for you and these videos. Thanks and thanks again. You are the best and sweetest to the babies.
You are so kind
Hi, thank you so much for your videos
I have a Yorky shire and I want to start grooming her myself, what would be the best clipper to use please thank you
Super helpful. Just completed a terrible job on my dog - learning in progress.
Loved this chat. I've been binge watching you , i have two older 8yrs old newfs. ... they are not likley tto stand for full grooming any lo ger ..
Take breaks with them and allow them to lay down and relax. Newfies are a lengthy grooming session.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!! Tomorrow, I am going to brush, bathe, brush, dry, brush, comb and clip my 6 month old goldendoodle pup! I'm gonna give her a full body clip, using a 1" guard on the Andis 2 speed clipper Amazon prime is delivering. I'm so excited!! I've never clipped a dog before, but I did pretty well the first time I trimmed my husband's hair, just based on angles and how I liked it, so I'm pretty sure this will come out beautiful!! I'm taking before/after pictures...just in case it is share-worthy!! =Terry
Don't forget to have fun and enjoy bonding with your dog throughout the grooming process:)
Thank you for the post this morning re: wahl km10 availability on pet edge!! I just ordered it, the blades, clipper oil and cool plus cleaner. You have changed my life and Pepper's life!!
Christine Rakela 🥰👏👏🎉
Thank you for the great tutorial! Very helpful. You're very good at explaining clearly and great personality!
I have many videos using blending shears.
I’m glad to learn this. We have groomers here but stay booked way in advance. Thank you
You have a knack for teaching
Thanks for this video. Answered a lot of questions i had about clippers and blades. Thank you!
GunsRus my pleasure
Thanks a lot it's really helpful could you please do a demo about nail cutting I am bit nervous.
I have several mail trimming instructional videos on my channel 🤗
@@GoGroomer Thanks
What an awesome channel! So helpful and talented! I applied for 10 positions for grooming apprentice this week☺️
Thank you for such an awesome and informative video. I learned more from you in this video than I did from my teacher at grooming school. I'll be saving and rewatching this several times over. 👏👏👏👏 Amazing video!!!! 😁❤️
Thank you, best instructions I've seen on youtube.
Thank u so much this video, I have a 1 1/2 year old maltipoo and I’d love to just groom my own dog 🐶 . Their is so many choices for blades to groom .
Glad to help 💕
I have a oneinall clipper with snap on combs the the dial has 0.8 mm 1.4 and 2.0 mm combs 3 6 9 12 15 &18 mm . Please help I have toy poodles. It's hard to get the top knot ears and tail. Also the body. Thank you ❤️
Enjoying your videos. Watching from Waasis, New Brunswick, Canada
Thanks for watching! Glad to see you here!
Just found you and I have been thinking about grooming my dogs, 2 maltese, one has cancer so I want to keep him from any stress. Hoping after watching I can. My problem is what tools to buy??? Do you have a video about tool?
Hi Amy I took your advice and used the 5F on my mini schnauzer which I was so pleased ... but now other question 🙋♀️ what size skip tooth should I use to blend the fringe please ..... have purchased that yet ,thank you 🙏
wonderful:) I wouldn't use a skip tooth blade, I would us a 3/8" snap on comb for furnishings.
I love this video! Trying to subscribe. I have 4 doodles and a poodle.
First I just want to say your channel has been extremely helpful! I am a newbie at dog grooming. I noticed that you had a vacuum attached to your clippers. Could you tell me what brand it is? I will be needing something like this down the road. Thanks!

Thank you. Best Instructional groomer
I love you ❤️ I just got a groomer clipper set and a set of combs to try to learn how to groom my Morkie🤷♀️
I will be watching you a lot for your help. Thank you for these gifts to us new ones.
Hello , watching from UAE...
Where can enroll and get a certification as a pet groomer , do you have school or seminar online ? Thank you...
I like to keep the coat around 1/2" on a dog that mats easily. Hope this helps.
You're really cool and a good groomer I have a miniature schnauzer, who I
Am learning to groom.
Everyone says I do a good job. I'm still learning so I see alot of mistakes . I am ordering a new clipper for
Abby'.( My dog). She doesnt
Have alot of furnishings
But there's enough there, to
Make her look good after a
Good haircut. What kind do you suggest for lack of outlets I prefer a cordless.
If u read this please tell me
The right blade and a good
Clipper, ive gone through a
Walh ion.was ok for awhile however the comb was really flimsy. Thank you ,
Barbra.and Abigail.

I am sure that this is not the case, I have heard you say that this machine is ideal since it does not heat up, please help me, thank you
Awesome just what I needed to learn the difference.
Glad it helped!
Love your videos, your excellent grooming, and your love for our pets! I have learned so much from your videos! Thank you!
Would love to see how you handle a feisty 1 year old mini-golden doodle!
good question. I'd like to know this too.
I've just seen the answer in the video.
Can you tell me what Run Thru Brush that is your using? Great video.
Hi Amy, So glad I found you! Thanks for the tutorial. Where can I purchase what I need to groom my dogs?
I want to help dogs it breaks my heart to see the mats can you help me how long do you have to stay in school
NOT BEING ABLE TO GROOM HIM LEAVES A HOLE IN
MY HEART ❤!
Thank you.
10
Fresh has 1 inch guards.www.freshprotools.com/
Need to do more of them, and different dogs.
Have a great day
What length would you recommend for a aussie mix with a aussie kind of coat
Did you say that you can use the coat king to thin out your doodles full coat if you want to keep the coat longer. Which blade amount should I purchase they have 26, 12 & 10 blade would you recommend to purchase for mini bernedoodle ? Thank you so much for the advice
Please can you tellmewhR blades to use onmyspanish where dog curls
What length difference so you do from body to head on this dog?
Just purchased km10 2 speed clipper
I groom my Shizu and my Bichon what accessories blades and clip ones do I need
