Rare for a radiation oncologist to work more than 40 hours.
Not sure if you did an interview for a Maternal Fetal Medicine doctor but if not please do!!!!
So basically it take 4 years for university degree 4 years or medical school and 1 year of internship and 4 years for redundancy. 13 years in total great to know 😃

Heard rad onc is going down the tank. Huge amount of unfilled seats for 2019. Makes sense after the leadership screwed the residents. They made the radbio exam unnecessary difficult with inadequate study guides. Not to mention this push for hypofractionation which means less revenue but yet rad onc leaders want to expand residencies. Salaries are decreasing as well because of this. It's sad what happened to radonc
Low pH what about interventional rads?
@@BruceFame interventional rad is doing quite well. It's on the up. It's very competitive to get in because it recently became it's own program
Is radiation oncology very competitive for IMG to get into?
I want to be a radiation oncologist too
What about radiation exposure to oncologist.? Read an article about a radiation oncologists who got Leukaemia and years of exposure

Great interview from what I’ve watched so far. What would you suggest a person do for an undergrad before Med school? Are you in school for a total of eight years and then residency? Or is residency part of that eight yrs? Is 42/no undergrad too late to start?? Thanks Dr. Mercado & Dr. Webb!

SurreallTV HUGE eye opener of a response. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. For time, money, and sanity I really believe the NP is the way to go. Make money the whole time and still help patients. I think this seems more logical than taking the obvious risks and gamble with the MD route. And yes, I’m 42 but feel like I’m 90 and act like I’m 20 most days lol. Thanks you again!!
