I'm a dad with a shaved head and a big beard. I work IT. I have no experience with cutting or styling hair. However, I do have a wife and a daughter. I have had to cut their hair throughout this whole pandemic. Your video has been incredibly helpful. I really appreciate it. Keep up the great work, friend!

Mia R same! My mum needs a trim. I cut my dad’s hair, but that’s easy, a number 1 all over with trimmers. I do the dogs hair, that’s also easy as it’s a number two on the body and a wee trim on the face and tail with scissors, but trimming a bob on a human ooooft. At least they can’t go anywhere, so no one will see them 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣

Awesome of you to share about body posture, standing positions, eye level, how to handle their shears and tension.
hairdressing is a lot more into details than just “cutting” hair. Understanding lines, shapes, layers, graduations, weight distribution and corners are crucial..
Thank you for sharing these awesome tutorials.

I used this tutorial to cut my own hair last spring. It was my first time cutting my hair on my own; I still had a million kinds of haircuts done professionally before though. It went super well, I was really happy with the result. I'm watching it again to refresh my memory as I'll attempt this again tomorrow. Really simple, clean, well made tutorial. Thank you!

I tried to finish cosmetology school with a passion to start my own spa and salon. What happened was the cutting and styling hair was so complicated for me because of seizures. I couldn't finish it. I'm glad there are videos to help me get there again and start new. Some medication was def the issue it made me have seizures. That's the only issue now I have none. This means I'm fine to go there now I'm okay.

I just did this cut for the second time on my wife. The first cut was just above the shoulders. The second was 2 inches shorter from the first cut. I did the second cut 3 days after the first. I never cut hair before. She loves it!! The only suggestion I would give people attempting this is, use very sharp scissors!!! Don't cut her hair too short the first time--just in case you mess it up, there will be enough hair for a pro to cut it properly.

@@paerisane146 cutting all the hair to a one length plane and having it be that perfect. No tension overdirection or elevation...and without great shears? Good luck! It is the hardest cut. When done well, it's the most beautiful. When done not well, it looks horrible. This is the classic Sassoon method. This cut would take me a long time. It's tough to "let go" of it and stop refining it. It's an exercise in OCD. His cut is gorgeous.

At the mastoid? Or wherever you put the corner? Or, do you keep her head tilted slightly down for the entire cut? It looked like from the video that her head was kept slightly down the entire cut. Currently in Cos school at Rizzieri Aveda. Thanks brother!

Love watching your videos. You inspire me to be a better stylist but you also make me feel like a good one. We have similar cutting styles plus I also use joico and Paul Mitchell.

My one length blunt bobs have always been cut with a shorter layer underneath at the back- just at the nape of the neck. I call it the neck fringe. It's slightly annoying when it's tied up.
Can anyone give an explanation for this - is it just to make it sit better and curve to the natural neck shape better?

Watching in March 2021. I wonder if those mannequin heads reflect the different head shape that real clients will have? You know a much rounder "junction box" (can't remember technical term) at the back of the head or having to take into consideration if the clients ears stick out from the head instead of lying flat. Or is it basically the same mannequin mold with different hair density🤷🏾‍♀️

I asked for this cut but the stylist used clippers. Now my sharp ends are irritating the back of my neck. Or perhaps it’s irritated from the times the clipper touched my neck. I have some red spots and lines. Any advice?

How do you keep the bob fab after the cut? I love this cut on me, but I never was able to maintain it becaus eit loses shape, and then it grows out weird...

I am doing level 2 hairdressing at the moment and everytime I try doing the bob I keep getting shorter at the sides and it end up going up in a angle, hopefully try this technique tomorrow and get it right

Great tutorial. This is basically my haircut but it feels like the outer layer of the back is a bit too long. Don't quite know what to ask my stylist for. Is the term more elevated in the back? Thanks

Yes you would ask your stylist to add some more elevation in the back

Hi, I did almost 4 years in hairdressing many years ago but had to leave due to sever skin disorder from hair chemicals... I did everything else bar cutting but would love to do a course using mannequin heads... is there a kit you’d recommend? Thnk you

I have a client that gets a one length long bob and for some reason when she tilts her head down at the end she has all these pieces of hair and they are all at different lengths. And It’s weird because I know I cut a straight line. But it is only when she tilts her head down. How do I fix that?
