Interesting. They moved away from timing and oil pan gaskets when they brought out the KA24DE. They just used an RTV sealant from the factory. They both have their place, but when done correctly I feel that the Ultra Grey RTV is leak free longer.

Doing this now but my timing cover seems to be stuck, what did you do to get it off? Pry it off with screwdrivers? I can’t seem to break the sealant seal.
A Gough yeah for sure , I ended up getting the timing chain replaced , as well as the timing chain cover , it ate a hole right through it , thanks for your reply

you dont need a gasket you can use gasket maker everybody does

Pry bar maybe but pry on a spot where ur not gonna damage anything right ! Oh did u take the oil pan off ur gonna have to it’s bolted to it

Yes I did u have to loosen or remove it to get the timing cover off

I got one like that , did you have coolant in the oil ? Someone checked my head gasket and then told me it was the timing chain gaskets instead
