Cynthia is called...by GOD! Period.
Cynthia Erivo is a name that should be known by everyone. She is absolute perfection.
she defined that role for a generation. She's the watermark that anyone even attempting that role will be measured against.
She almost became an EGOT (someone who has won and Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) but she didn't win either of the Oscar she was nominated for this past awards season and became one of 16 people to ever do that, yet she is super underrated and somewhat unknown which is saddening.

I had no idea about that. She’s so talented, I swear.
I was showing this to a friend and telling him, that I bet she was sick. Not because she didn’t SLAYED, but because as a singer myself, I can hear her nose is a little clogged and stuffy. But this gorgeous woman is such a great technician and singer, that this was still flawless. A true singer always pulls through!!! Ughh that openness and beautiful vowels!!! BRAVO!!
Before this comment, I thought that she had some clogged sinuses or something. I heard some difference, so wow. More impressive because it’s so hard to sing when your sinuses and clogged and a sore throat. WOW!

I have seen it two days ago
She's unique in that she has a very rich voice but very clear at the same time. She goes from chest to head very fluidly. Shes gritty and soft and sweet. She has the type of voice where she can sing anything. Awesome.

I had the honor of seeing Cynthia in the Color Purple on Broadway in the front row on Christmas Day...absolutely amazing and the Best Female Broadway performance I have ever seen.

i was in the audience at Stephen Colbert that day. She was spectacular.. The most amazing thing to me was the fact that that entire orchestra set up just to play that one single song and then broke down. it was at least 30 pieces... I didn't get to see her on Broadway so I was happy that I got to see her sing this signature song from TCP
ugh yes it makes me happy when these “vocal coach reacts to” videos center around broadway songs because broadway actors have to study singing techniques for years and it’s interesting to see a vocal coach analyze it.

When she started singing I thought: she has a nice voice but whatever. Ten seconds later I was crying and by the end of the song I was sobbing. Wow, what an stunning performance. Perfect mix of vulnerability and strength. I didn't know about this lady but I'm so glad that I have found her.

Cynthia is a powerhouse! Her vocals are astounding! In the clip you are watching though, someone combined Oprah's reaction to Jennifer Hudson singing this song to Cynthia singing it on the Stephen Colbert show haha.
This is Cynthia performing intercut with clips from other things...the clips with Oprah are from a Kennedy Center performance but it was Jennifer Hudson performing the song...sketchy editing for no good reason)
They enter cut it because the original video of her at the Colbert show was taken down. But they didn't want It taken down down again, so that meant fooling around and changing it around so that it's not like the original video.
Yeah, adding the clips of Oprah is enough to make it “transformative” and avoids copyright claims

I've loved Shoshana since her Wicked days; but right now, for me, no one sings She Used to Be Mine better than Adrian Matthews. The kid sang it in his house and it went viral so the cast invited him to see Waitress. Then he sung it after the show during their karaoke party.
That little Old Soul kid surpassed what Sara, Kellie, Shoshana and Jeremy did with the song.I like the way he lets it build. He brought the cast and himself to to tears

I'd like to start off by stating that I love your channel and the energy that you put out through your videos really brighten my days up, so thank you.
I know that my request might seem unreasonable, seeing as the video I'll be referring to "only" has 320k views on youtube, and the artist isn't the most well known, but I feel inclined to do it anyways, because his voice really is THAT unique and fantastic.
I'm speaking off "Albin Lee Meldau: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert". It's a 13 minute long video, but really any video of him, except for his studio edited songs, will do perfect if 13 minutes is too long for you to react to.
He's got a unique mix between a really powerful yet tender voice. His ability to express emotions through his facial expressions is almost unheard of, at least to me, among other musical artists.
I also encourage you, the reader, to look him up and, if you agree with me and wants him to get a bigger audiance, come back here and like this comment. It would, at the very least, help in making Tara see this. Who knows; it very well might be one of your next favorite artists.
