The banner was about 'The Special Olympics' which was meant for the differently abled people. The words on the banner, 'The Special Olympics' turned out to be truly special and significant when all the nine participants were declared to be the winner and each one was awarded with a gold medal.

@@sukuna1313 empathy means basically putting yourself in other's shoes to feel what he is feeling and sympathy is pity. For example, in this poem, the other athletes felt empathy for the fallen athlete as they too had worked hard and knew how terrible they would've felt if they were in his shoes. Sympathy you know.

Read the story/poem again ... like a story as if reading for the first time. Or relate the story to a younger sibling ... to see if you can remember the different aspects of the content. Then get back to your notes in order to study it from an exam point of view
